  1. Hey guys. So I've been thinking about this for a while, and I was wondering what you guys would think about an Indians DLC? I really think this would add some variety into the game. This is just a cool idea I've been fantasizing about. The Idea: Imagine a DLC where it's all about Indians. Maybe we can have some story missions with this particular DLC along with awesome outfits, Tipis, Indian themed horses and face paint. In the story mode of Red Dead Redemption 2, there was a small segment of Indians but it didn't get much involved to much, which was kind of a bummer. I really think this could give Red Dead Online a nice touch and a little bit of variety. The DLC should include: Tipi's Indian Outfits and Accessories Spears Native American Themed Horses Face Paint Story Missions Let me know what you guys think about a Indians DLC coming to Red Dead Online.

  2. ....yeah. I prefer to just play the game and let the level / money come in naturally. Don't get me wrong, I like to mix it up and even go on shooting sprees like you describe, but I find when I'm just doing missions with a friend(s) and not worry about it, I find I have more cash/gold than I expected after a session and level up regularly.

  3. Yeah, I can appreciate that. But other than a few, I don’t think people really want an invincible mode. I see defensive mode as less a protection method and more of a flag saying ‘look, I’m busy. Please leave me alone’. It keeps the semi honest PvP enthusiasts away from you. And it has a little bit of built in protection from low level experimenters. But, much like a padlock isn’t going to stop a dedicated thieving prick from taking your stuff, defensive mode won’t stop a dedicated ass of a griefer from killing you while he makes videos of himself giggling like a prepubescent girl...

  4. ....good analogy. With theft deterrent devices you know that any one solution is not likely to be foolproof but the point is to make yourself less of an easy mark so criminals move on to more vulnerable prey. Theft deterrents also require a level of action on the part of the user in order to more effective. .....much like the anti-griefing features in the game. Defensive Mode is simply a deterrent to help mitigate the issue of griefing, not a way to stop it. .....but like the example above, a big part of making yourself less of a target really depends on how you use that feature to your advantage (not the attacker).

  5. I wasn't using him for a poster boy for hardcore lobbies. Just showing how pointless defensive mode is.

  6. First Nations people from this era were in the middle of genocide being committed against them by governments. There's no fun way to depict that. Best drop it ...

  7. Lol. Funny you should mention other players camps... I make a point of drinking all their beer and cooking at least a piece or two of meat... I’ve yet to have anyone make an issue out of it and I always leave one bottle away from passing out.

  8. Exactly my point. If I'm hunting or herb picking and I get full, I'd like to be able to start a fire to craft tonics, brew coffee and cook meats, or even rest to refill my cores all the while knowing that my flame in the distance is vulnerable to other players spotting it, knowing my campfire doesn't have the same safety bubble as my full camp. Maybe another weary player might see it and come craft or rest and chat? Maybe they'll just murder me and I'll know better than to make a fire in the dark out in the open next time lol I've approached other players empty camps before and thought about borrowing their fire but I worried they might see me as an intruder and shoot me if they happened to come back

  9. Yeah. I’m familiar with this guy. His whole channel is filled with videos of him being an ass just to see how big of an ass he can be. There isn’t a system in the world that will stop a guy like this, including hardcore/freeaim lobbies. He’s not interested in fighting people, he just wants to go around griefing people that have no interest in fighting. Using him as the poster boy for why we need a hardcore lobby for people that want to fight is pretty useless. If it happens, he’ll still be in the regular lobbies acting like A jackass. However, I imagine defensive mode being tweaked down the road to combat this behaviour. At the end of the day, I’m personally not against player on player violence and bloodshed. I just wish it made some kind of sense. Had a purpose of some kind behind it. And maybe a penalty/reward system that would cause people to actually think a little before pulling the trigger.

  10. I dont like that certain items are gold only, like the best saddle in the game for example, there is another almost exactly the same but the stamina drain and health drain are reversed, so I had to buy the beaver roping saddle over the cougar saddle because I never have 18 gold bars at one time lol and now that my guns are almost finished this will be my next gold purchase, but I think they should be offered in gold or cash as they are a performance item, not cosmetic, the only way to get that saddle currently is gold and that doesnt seem right to me, if you are willing to purchase gold bars then there ya go, I am not,

  11. Well, matches were a thing back then... I think lighters were even being worked on in the early 1800s... but I get the point. I always found it annoying how when I need to whip up some more meat I need to either go back to my camp three states over, or hope I come across someone else’s fire. I’d be willing to spend on some minor consumables to be able to whip up a crafting/cooking fire on the road. There were even portable stoves available back then I believe.

  12. This, and this I have two Lemats. One is all black (blue, in fact) with black wood grip. The other is all "silver" with a pearl grip. However, for now I have left it the steel it came in. I'm not convinced that spending 18 gold to go from a silvery metal to a very slightly more silvery metal is the best use of my resources. If it cost 2 gold bars, I'd probably do it.

  13. I realized R* would lock some items behind GBs but they also said these would be essentially all cosmetic and they've stuck with that promise. Personally, I have no problem with it especially since we can still earn gold within the game and we are also gifted GBs from time to time. We are also able to make more through special events / promotions. In some games, items can be locked and only available via MTXs with no opportunity to earn the special currency required through gameplay. Even with how hard it can be to grind for, at least we can still collect GBs in this game rather than only having the option to buy them via MTX. I'm just happy that a most of the aesthetic items are still available using in-game currency and many of those locked behind GBs are still relatively within reach simply by playing the game, taking advantage of promos, gifts, etc.

  14. Well, I feel like a complete idiot. This entire time, it was in my satchel under "Letters". Can't believe I didn't check the satchel, I was waiting around for this letter to appear at the post office. Thank you @The_Liquor and @Moosh89 for the help, I really appreciate it. Now I need a beer. Cheers 😛

  15. There are several factors that could be involved here especially if you were engaged with them right before entering your camp. IMO/IME, griefing happens in most cases because people allow it to happen by being complacent, being unaware and/or taking risks. Situational awareness is key. Use the advantages of defensive mode to evade or escape from unwanted encounters. Move to a new area away from other players especially when you spawn in. Choose a spawn point opposite of the place you want to go and travel there. The system tends to group players together in the same session. If you're attacked, don't engage them. Use the parley feature, press charges and vacate the area asap. I even block players although I'm not sure if that even helps but it also means they can't msg me. There is also a reporting feature if you feel their behavior is disruptive like when they were taunting you in your camp. These new features can help but you still have to play as if everyone is a threat if you want to help yourself avoid these types of situations.

  16. You know @HuDawg... I think it’s just the fact we want separate games. I want an immersive western themed RPG like experience. I’m suspecting you want a western 3rd person shooter with a few side activities. Don't get me wrong, I won’t be all that upset if separated lobbies become a thing, though I do think it might have the unintended side effect of watering down the regular lobbies to those that can’t be bothered to waste their time mastering the ridiculous skill of moving a near invisible white dot onto a target at lightning speed with joysticks, and those that want to take cheap shots and prey on people. If this happens, it’s game over for me. As for the intended effect of defensive mode, it is designed to limit the amount of cheap shots you get when you want to just go about your business without completely eliminating the danger present in the open world. From what I observed, it does this fairly well. Even when not in defensive mode I’ve noticed a drastic reduction in getting killed for no particular reason... I fail to see how it doesn’t make sense. But like I said, you want your game and I want my game. They just happen to be different games. Only my game requires Rockstar to try to reinvent the wheel, whereas your game already exists. Sorry to disagree with you. I’m not saying your point of view isn’t valid. But I truly am hoping Rockstar keeps trying to break the mold instead of turning RDR2 into GTA old west...

  17. Yea man, I had done all boards at least 3xs b4 this week and yes you can pick the mission from the menu. Don't forget you'll also get $75 within 24hrs when you finish "Kill 'em all each and every one". You might need to be in a posse to get the rewards I thought I read that but no big deal, you can be in a posse by yourself as I was and still get paid. If you have a posse load in to be safe if not give it a try if no rewards within 24 hours you'll definitely need to be in a posse.

  18. Look, at the end of the day I’m not sure it matters too much if there are separate lobbies or not. But from what I’ve been seeing, the defensive/aggressive play modes are having The intended results. So far, the only people complaining all that much about it seem to be the small fraction of players that want to be completely death-proof. Maybe another small fraction that feel like they should be able to see everyone on the map and make free roam into a big death match with the ability to kill indiscriminately with no consequences. I’m not seeing all the doom and gloom you have been predicting since the initial hostility system. I haven’t seen a single player trying to abuse the defensive mode for griefing purposes. I’m not getting unnecessarily punished by a so called ‘kill tax’ for defending myself. I’m running into way fewer aggressive players. People are interacting more and defaulting to ‘shoot all other players on sight’ less. It seems to me that it’s turning out just fine and as intended. I suppose other experiences may differ, but I’m not hearing about it all that much aside from an isolated incident here or there. So yeah. I guess I’m living in bizzaro world. I just don’t see how it’s so urgent to split up the player base at this time. Maybe it’ll prove to be the prudent move down the road. But I like how they’re trying to make something new and different rather than churning out the same old game with a different map. For the first time in a while I’m actually enjoying an online game and I for one am willing to see how it turns out before condemning it. Feel free to disagree.

  19. You're entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine. For the most part, I just don't have fun with the PVP showdown series games. They're more of a chore, especially when you get stuck on a crappy team of do nothings, where players care more about padding their kill count stats than helping the team. I do have some favorites like Most Wanted and Spoils of War, but don't get to play them that much when they are stuck in a rotation along with all the games I hate, like Make it Count and Hostile Territory that come up far too often. Two things need to happen in order for me to really start enjoying PVP, we need to be able to select what game we want to play and when choosing teams, the game needs to stop breaking up posses in auto balancing. I want to play with my posse members, not against them.

  20. (I just joined here to reply to this and an earlier, rather lengthy rant of yours. I infinitely apologize if I'm in violation of forum rules.) I'm really confused about how you find Sony responsible for the choices Rockstar made regarding HDR and Checkerboard Rendering. The Cinematic implementation where they upscaled from an 8-bit SDR palette with the horrible paper white and peak brightness issues affected all versions, from base Xbox One to the One X. And HDR has nothing to do with rendering resolution or raw graphical compute capabilities (Sure it improves an image in terms of lighting, contrast and colour….but it's an entirely different pipeline with no (or at worst negligible) additional compute expense from CPU/GPU). The lacklustre implementation of Checkerboard rendering is also (to the best of my knowledge on this subject) more Rockstar's fault than Sony's. There are many other examples of checkerboard implementation that hold up against native resolution ('hold up' , not necessarily equal/improve over. But that changes with the game in question, which again shows how Rockstar is responsible.) To conclude...even in the best case scenario that Rockstar bothers to fix their Reconstruction solution [to be on par with something like that in Days Gone, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn or Resident Evil 2 remake (where it somehow appears sharper than One X despite using Checkerboarding) ] it will still in some way be inferior to the One X. I do not intend to sugarcoat the facts with this post. What the One X achieves with raw horsepower is truly on a league of it's own. I just want to say that this problem might not be with the Pro not having enough power (It clearly has the capability to render Checkerboard frames [1920*2160] at a 90% stable 30 fps, at the end of the day it's just the actual resolving of the Checkerboard that causes the problem, an easy fix...at least on paper) or with Sony trying to deceive customers (I don't really have any knowledge to argue for/against that point, because that's just hypothesis). Also, I do not wish to have a feud with you and am open to further discussions on anything I said in this post, should you or anyone choose to reply to this. I play Read Dead Redemption 2 on the Pro (on a Sony X75E if that matters) and am bothered by the temporal instability of the image just as much as anyone else (the game still looks gorgeous, all things considered) and I fully relate with and understand you and others being vocal on this topic. The PS4 Pro support truly is a let down, considering the impressive technological showcase the game is. Again, not strictly implying that your comments are "wrong" is any manner, just that you might be ('might', always the possibility that anything or everything I just wrote is wrong and pointless) angry at the wrong party here. Hope this does not come across as offensive to anyone in this thread. I do not intend it to be so.
