This x 2 As i already mentioned in other post there are a lot of cheaters atm especially in showdown large. I will not name and shame them bcoz its against the rules but i bet You know some of those names. Currently im going showdowns only to make daily as well with some exceptions - sometimes i go a few rounds to not get rusty or just to kill some folk - i dont want to kill ppl in free roam unless they deserve it or provoke me with suspicious behaviour. The most popular cheats are : Auto head aim, no recoil, wallhack, instant reload, faster draw and shot. There are others even more powerfull but they are to obvious and lead to fast ban. (like god mode, flying, teleporting, speed hack and others). Remember how it used to be in the past. I played only pvp till lvl 60 ish and it was super fun. Now its frustrating. I hope R* will do sth with it and try to resolve the situation. I really know what you mean. I get frustrated too when some idiot kills me with a varmint way out of range or come out of the ground behind me, or when im on a roof from the ceiling.

I can't complain about the gold bonus. I'm already raking in .5 gold for each daily completed thanks to my streak, any more on top of that is gravy.

^This. PVP is rampant with cheaters. The only time I'll take part now is to complete the daily challenges that are involved with it. There are some days when I'll just say screw it and skip those. I'm sick of repeaters, and even worse, the varmint rifle, seemingly having the range of a sniper rifle and being able to headshot me with pinpoint precision from great distances sometimes even through cover. They draw and fire faster than me and hit their head shot everytime, whereas my head shot attempts often hit them high in the chest or neck. Don't even get me started on the overpowered, overused slippery bastard!

PvP is so broken at the moment it's not even playable. We literally can't get in. We go in , ready up , timer hits 0 and we get kicked back to free roam. Very frustrating ! And yes the gun mechanic is extremely off ! 1 shot varmint rifle kille with nwo on ?? I can hit 4 bullitts on a target , they fish flop and one shot me with cattleman??? Not sure what I'm missing but it is BROKEN !!

Hmm, good question. Grizzlies/Cougars/Panthers may be a bit trickier since they are more likely to surprise ambush you and I fear may be programmed to attack players before going after NPCs (kind of a Westworld thing). I remember a lot more bears attacking NPCs, stalking elk and fending off packs of wolves in RDR1 than there are in RDO. In story mode I even saw a few grizzlies fishing the Dakota for salmon which was cool. I'll take up your challenge though and drag someone into my favourite Grizzly hunting ground and see what happens.

I have a feeling that more of the unsavoury criminal activities will start making appearances after the next major update sometime.... maybe with the next set of paths... but I don’t see heists in the same sense as GTA

I still think people complain to much. It is just a game after all, not a world changing treaty or piece of legislation... But that’s just me. I find it fun to dabble in now. I anticipate having a blast after the summer update comes and the -40 weather keeps me confined to the basement more often. That’s all I can really ask out of a $60 piece of entertainment software.

This is very good and exactly what I was looking for. If you read it, in one part it says. "As the next major expansion to Red Dead Online approaches, adventure-seekers can earn Double Gold for taking on Daily Challenges this week. Completing all seven Challenges will award a total of Four Gold Bars per day through September 2." So, there it is, "As the next MAJOR expansion approaches..." It is coming!!! and the gold bar thing for dailys is funny, it says double gold, but I already get 2.5x gold multiplier, I get 3.5 gold bars everyday that I complete all 7 challenges, I think it is only double gold if you have no multipliers already in effect for consecutive days of daily challenges. Anyway, this announcement qualifies as "more information", now they are clear to drop it. I had hoped for literally more information like tell us more about the dogs, or the jobs, or the cost of making a new character etc.. But Im happy to hear anything at this point. I believe in two weeks it will drop, that is my guess on record. Traditionally summer ends on Sept 21st, it used to be March 21st first day of spring , June 21st first day of summer, Sept 21st first day of Autumn, and Dec 21st first day of Winter. So based on that 9/23 Tuesday would technically be after summer so to me it has to be any week before the 23rd. That leaves 8/27, 9/3, 9/10, 9/17 for the Summer update to drop. I had doped in Spring that the Spring update would drop at the beginning of Spring but it didnt, and so I think the summer update will follow suit and drop towards the end of the summer. Either way, I had 135 gold bars, 8900$ in cash and everything I need in terms of weapons, horses, camp stuff, etc.. I only log in, do my daily challenges and then depending on what my needs are I might go hunting or grinding a little to hit the next level, today I cleared a hideout and grabbed a treasure map, first one in several weeks, gave me 1.09 gold, so that was a nice treat. Getting excited for the update, it is very close now. If you dont have 4 ability cards at tier 3, get busy, if you are broke, get busy, if you are at a low level get busy, after this update drops you will be thankful that you set yourself as much as you did when you had the chance. Right now in the game it can be boring yes, BUT you dont have griefers everywhere, you dont have tons of trolls, you dont have confused and angry players everywhere, it is a great time to grind out some levels in peace.

Summer ends either at the end of August or toward the end of September depending on whether you go by meteorological or astronomical definitions. Using my better safe than sorry approach to things, I expect that R* is going by the astronomical calendar which has Summer ending this year before the Autumn equinox (Sept 23rd?). ......so, we possibly have a month to go with no concrete date or idea that it is closer than that. I wouldn't rack your brain too hard and just expect that you won't see the update until the end of Sept unless you hear something different before then. .....something official.

I was using semi autos first and they were great. I wanted to try Mausers tho and imo they are better. Semi autos are a bit (a little bit) faster than the Mausers but have less shots, and less dmg. Mausers tho are insane. They are dead accurate as well and dead fast too ofering more ammo. I never got back to semi autos after trying Mausers but i see some serious pvpers in showdown using semi autos too. For me Mauser is better. Try them - you will not regret it. The hip salve from those close distance is something beautiful. 2 days ago in Gold rush game i was using only them and won the match with double the points to 2nd place. Had 23 kills and 6 deaths and ppl were stuggling to kill me to get the suit. I combine them with PiB and WS of course without painting - just fast tap

I too think that the update is more likely to hit closer to mid Sept than today. I'm a little bored with it myself. I still log on every day to do at least 1 daily to keep the streak alive( it's currently over 90 days). I have over 100 gold and over $2700. In the last few days I've actually gotten back into SP mode. I started over from the beginning since I had only gotten to chapter 3 by the time online came out and I abandoned it.

I know someone who would hogtie NPCs and use them as live bait to attract cougars.

Yes this crosses my mind whenever I kill buffalo or gators, condors, whatever. But this is a game that is all. Btw we kill people too.

Well i got really frustrated some days ago with the game. Currently log only to do daily and then quit. I really hoped that summer update will be in the summer but oh well. I agree and hope that they will implement some serious changes and stuff to grind for. I know its not enough but i've put away 300 gold bars and a couple of thousand rdo$ the be ready in some point for major expences. Still want to hit lvl 200 (3 lvls to go) but getting bored after an hour or two with the game and quit. WoW classic hits on the 27 th and me and my friends were waiting for it for some time now. Im affraid ill get sucked in and never even try the update or the game anymore. Cyberpunk is on the horizon as well........Time will tell.

Been like that for ages double barrel wont fire better, of using it as a club, other weapons when fired sound go puff, players lag switching no interest in the mechanics of the game just spawn trapping for the most kills.

Well, Not that I overly dislike the game as is, but life got in the way a little for me and it’s just not worth making the extra time until I have something new to do. So in my case, the longer they draw it out, the longer I stay away from my basement. And the longer it is before I even consider the possibility of buying any gold bars to get some must have cool sh*t that I just can’t be bothered to grind for... But I do believe your hunch is right. We’ll likely be waiting two or three more weeks.

I can see that they wait another week or so... fanbase has really dropped and this seems to be a make or break to draw in new players. Noone I used to play with plays anymore, they played- slowed- got on to do a daily or 2 to keep the streak- then quit. If this update is as big as we think R* really needs to drive up the hype.

No they can't... Anything they add to punish what you consider to be bad behavior will be used against players just trying to defend themselves. They can only prevent it, with private lobbies and removing close range blips. When people shoot me in the back and leave the game.. I go to recent players and just join them instantly and shoot them right back.. Sometimes as much as I can.> Even joining other games if they leave. I become their new best stalker friend.
