  1. Any player coming directly at you when that big red wheel is on the map is out to get it. If they don't take measures to avoid it they will die. We always have a point man that will fire warning shots first. If they proceed in our direction there going dirt napping no exceptions ! Too much money on the line to be nice. It doesn't take much to give a wide birth so we know you have no ill intent. Come at us and you lose ! Easy breazy

  2. Unless I'm misunderstanding something, players in Defensive Mode should still show up on the player list in sessions. They will also show up on the radar as faded blips but they are still visible.

  3. You will have a hard time narrowing down the actual server IP. This is because R* is using Akamai's "Content Delivery Network". The CDN is a bank of servers around the globe that receive your request for content. They then contact the actual servers for the data then caches it. This speeds up response times to users and frees up requests from the actual servers. Hope that explains it.

  4. Yeah..... The usual "Tues Updates" schedule seems to have been thrown off since the last big update. They were posting bonuses, etc. every Tuesday for months before that almost like clockwork. Now it seems the updates are coming anytime during the week but sometimes not at all. I'm hoping next week (since its after the holidays) we will see them get back into a more predictable groove. .....I don't know about any kind of major update though coming that soon but yeah, a decent patch / adjustments would be nice.

  5. Same problems here noquid. What's worked for me is: I join the game through the "camp" option on the online screen. If my camp isn't there when I load in, I just go back to online menu screen, and load into "camp" again. Its always worked by the second time. Sometimes it's not where I want it, but I just deal with it. Don't wanna confuse the game by trying such a complex maneuver such as relocating. If my camp disappears after 5 minutes, I TRY the camp setup option in the free roam menu, but if it gets hosed up, it's back to the online camp option again.

  6. I like the idea behind that, but I have found increasingly that players simply sit outside known delivery points and wait to attack any incoming player. I ran in some moonshine over Christmas and there were two players waiting at the shack. Opened fire as soon as I came into view. Had I not had Never Without One I'd have lost the lot. As it was I was able to lose my hat, race the wagon into the delivery zone (fluke that the final bend in my approach was so close that they only got off the one shot), then leap from the wagon with twin navies firing and had the inevitable gun battle (which I won, yay!), with my money banked and only honour on the line. But if they're simply staking out the delivery location then they will always catch someone regardless of where we spawn. And it's basically penalty free.

  7. According to Fun 2, this recipe should be discover in a Moonshine camp random event ! but it's already bugged ! "I found the issue, so basically, this random event is supposed to have one hour cooldown whenever you complete any moonshine activity (includes raids, setup missions, sell missions ..etc) The cooldown is supposed to be 3600000 milliseconds which is one hour, but the game is reading that as 3600000 seconds which is one month. It should be fixed very soon whenever the developers get back on office."

  8. The mechanics in Rockstar games have always been hit or miss (pun possibly intended?) so yeah, the realistic aspect of someone taking a shot to the chest and staying down are out the door, down the street and taking a plane ride to Albuquerque. Point being, they could have done better but hey, at least head shots work, right? lol

  9. I get being frustrated about issues in the game and players clearly cheating. Just don't take it out on people who are trying to be helpful. No one here is associated with Rockstar, we are all just fans and players of the game. I wish people would understand that. As for the issue with people hacking/cheating/using mods... This has always been an issue on PC. Those who are new to it, I am sorry you had to find out this way. The only thing you can do is report them and switch the lobby/session/server.

  10. Happy New Year everyone! I honestly didn't do anything exciting. Today, had dinner with the family. Part of tradition. Just got home. Going to go chill out shorty and catch up on some videos I missed the last week or so.

  11. As a person that lives in a cold climate region, I say screw this snow worship. Without snot-sickles, it's just not real. I'm taking the first boat to Guarma.

  12. Has nothing to do with your hardware. It's just Rockstar's servers. They've been having a lot of issues since the last patch, as I'm sure you know. You could potentially solve this by choosing to block Rockstar's ports. It will prevent other players from reaching your lobby and will let you set up camp normally, you have to be in a solo session first before blocking the ports. You could also empty out your lobby with in-game methods temporarily, certain missions and using change appearance will force you into one temporarily. I often used temporarily solo lobbies to perform deliveries with moonshiner because I was just having way too many issues with it loading. Getting rid of every other player solved my problem.

  13. above answer assuming you have Moonshine cabin with bar upgrades. I'm unsure if other pianos or instruments in the game allow it. There is a place people without stew pots can get stew as an example (I think). Since they added dancing I've never tried at a saloon.

  14. First off, sounds like heaven. You should be happy about it. Solution: While in-game in your empty lobby, type netstat -a -b into your command prompt and wait for Rockstar's UDP ports to pop up or use Resource Monitor on Windows 10 to confirm that Rockstar is indeed attempting to listen with port 6672. If you cannot see the port or it says "Not allowed, unrestricted access" (or something like that), then something on your computer is blocking their port that is required for matchmaking. Go into windows firewall and create a new rule that allows listening for port 6672. You can just disable all of Windows Firewall temporarily to see if that is the problem. Check your router too, go into the admin panel and make sure that port 6672 is capable of listening and is allowed. Another idea here is just that your Internet is so bad that Rockstar feels like you cannot maintain connection to other players, in that case, they will intentionally put you in a solo lobby to solve the issue. You can call your router's company and ask for support on this or check your router's manual online, they can likely point you to creating a new rule on your router to let Rockstar's ports through. If your router is owned by your ISP (such as a rented router), your ISP should be able to assist you on ports being unintentionally blocked.

  15. I like just having the world looking a little different for a while. Makes it seem a little more alive versus frozen/static. Also Christmas movies wouldn't always have snow in them if it didn't trigger something in people.

  16. When you say "you bastards" I hope you realize we are not R*. We are not affiliated with them nor Take Two which I've made clear in a couple posts in this thread. Also, the link I provided in an earlier remark has information regarding R* Support. I would recommend you contact them about it.

  17. Yeah..... Especially where R* is concerned. I always wished they would put more focus in to building more complexity into their damage / gunplay mechanics. It's just too "arcadey" for me considering all the other level of detail these games have in their physics, player/NPC behaviors, driving mechanics, etc. If it wasn't for those other things, I wouldn't be able to look past it. I guess that's why I never could get on board with those looking for free aim in RDO. .....with all else not changing it seems pointless to me.

  18. Glad things got sorted for you and you were able to keep your gold. Just stick to forming posses with people you know or you can join one on here. Better to be safe than sorry.

  19. Then it would be a Halloween movie.

  20. Same for me. I know the basis of it and it is an action film that happens to have Christmas props. It could have happened at a Halloween party and nothing else would have changed in the story.

  22. Yep, it's great when people join here with an interest in becoming part of the community. That's what it's all about IMO.

  23. I think in part you have a god point, there should be some consequences for committing crimes, stopping you is part of the game and that makes it dynamic, but as in the story mode or other online interactions with npcs if there is a single witnesses that can get to help then the bounty system should kick in or something similar. I play solo myself so I never try to run long distance deliveries, I need the $500 and dont want to risk it, I have tried them, and I enjoy the action, but I cant sustain the losses in a world where it is so hard to find groups of easily hunted animals, they are too precious to risk for an additional $150 IMO. If you are running solo consider shorter runs so people dont mess with you. I like the idea of a $20 instant bounty for attempted robbery so that players around you have motivation to get involved and not necessarily to steal from you but rather to catch or kill the wanted posse or player, that might be interesting.
