So all of those that maxed their Gold will have that advantage, while those of us who didn't get there in time are just SOL. Well, guess that means I'm done with online then. Last night I was fishing had a player ride up on the black Arabian. Immediately, exited out of the fishing animations. He was standing there with his rope ready, when I drew my gun and shot at him. He hopped on his horse, I called mine over to give chase and he just took off and I wasn't able to keep up. Been waiting for the Arabian horse for just those situations.

Anytime I see a post where a player is excused for griefing, because it is part of the "game's design". I think people confuse good PvP vs Griefing. We can PvP, without the griefing and it be part of the "Game's Design". Yes players will lose more often in a fair fight vs an ambush where you stack the odds against your opponent so they can't fight back. When we are done, we will "know" who was the better player that day.

I have tried both, catalog and the stores/stable. It doesn't give me the option to use the gold at all.
-
He did cross the line, but to say they did nothing wrong either. They spawn killed him. Why? Was he a threat? We understand the game allows that, but why must it be the only way players play it out. Why is the answer have to be a person has to find a different server, just because player or players are just being asses? Oh, yeah cause the game allows it and they have no self control. @Saltyballs If you don't get banned, I would probably try to avoid personal conversations with players you play against in the future.

I currently didn't know there was safe places to do this. Then again when I spawned in, I didn't want to spend 15 mins traveling to an area so that I could do what should take me 5 mins and log off. Also when I spawned in, there was no one on my map even close. So instead spent that time just being trolled by a player that was useless in game as he is as a person outside of the game. I just don't get players that don't clue in, that they aren't shooting back. Maybe, just maybe they aren't going to play with me. Instead they seem to think, "Finally! PvP that I can be good at. I can now tell my friends that I'm really really good player at PvP. Maybe they will come and help and make me a better player, by having 7v1."

Last night I logged in to upgrade some gear. I appeared out in the middle of nowhere, so I just used the catalog. Why in the menu, a player shot me dead. I re-spawned didn't see him around, went to back to what I was doing. Same player did it again. We went through this 5 times, the last time I just logged off. Figuring some assholes just couldn't help themselves. Obviously, I wasn't in the mood to play and had things to do. Yet, it didn't stop him from knocking out a few freebie kills.

Been there, done that. Got ignored just the same. In the past when I didn't have the gold bricks it at least had the LT option. Now it doesn't.
-
I have been farming and saving, now I can't seem to spend it on anything. Even though I got the gold, it doesn't allow me to shortcut like so many others have. So am I the only one? Or is there a problem?

You killed them once during a mission, which you doing is part of the mission. Now if they moved onto something new and you are following and killing them and they haven't fired a shot at you. Yeah, that is griefing. Now when you killed them once during the mission and they kept coming back and you kept killing them, well to me that is them wanting to participate in PvP and kind of asking for it. If your killing them is just to make sure they don't have any fun, is griefing. Some of the missions, request outside interference. To me to participate in those isn't griefing, but there is a limit. Like one night I had to deliver 2 bags of mail and I was playing solo. Now what I got was 2 posses and both had 7 players each and they all focused on me. I don't feel I got griefed, but one posse of 7 players was more then enough to stop me from completeing it. Each group had about 5 apiece do nothing be keep me out of the mission once I got killed. While the others delivered it. Crappy situation, but it was part of the mission. I have seen solo players fishing or hunting that had groups attack them. Then keep attacking them. Why? It wasn't required, yet they was hitting them hard. Hell, I had one occasion this weekend. I loaded up and by the time I actually spawned in, I was dead. Re-spawned in and was dead before I got completely spawned in. I shut the game down, cause I felt that was horse sh*t.

Most likely, it won't be 16 days. With the holidays and all, you are talking Jan 8th or later. Players are already getting a bet edgy. Making them wait, most of the kids will be out of school from right before Christmas to after New Years. That is if they aren't already out of school.

I will add you to my list when I can.

I use it online, but feel it's less effective as it is offline. I usually using it to get multiple headshots in a group, yet the others just seem to walk away without a scratch.
-
I was talking about online.

To quote Jack Nickelson in Batman, "I ask this of all my friends?" Do you feel your online playstyle matches you real life personality? I personally feel it does, but have always have had debates with those that claim the way they act online is nothing like how the are in real life. Do you feel your online playstyle matches you real life personality? Not asking so I can judge you, asking to be honest answers.

Penalty of cause griefers focus on killing you over and over. No you don't need penalties for someone killing you.

Thanks for the translations. As for TD2, you got the exact idiots from Massive making it, being controlled by the same idiots from Ubisoft, who are asking for the same idiot YouTubers who screwed up the whole PvP situation. Yeah, it will be a train wreck and don't see any reason to buy the game. My son wants it and may convince me to buy it, but I don't see it being a better game in PvP or the DZ. I don't see anything changing. In fact had a friend who played the Alpha, supposedly he was told not to speak about it. He stated improvements was made, but not enough to endorse the game but he believes that if you liked the 1st, you will like the 2nd. Wouldn't tell me squat about it beyond that.

I have asked the same question before for other games. Amongst most of them the answers these I felt most honest. 1. Boredom. I got everything, done everything, still enjoy the game. All I got left to do is keep others from doing what I have, cause I didn't find it challenging enough. So I am doing them a favor so they can enjoy the game more. 2. I am playing the game as intended and you aren't. The Devs designed so I can grief you, you don't like it leave. 3. I like the sound of your whine. 4. I want to see how many players I can personally get to quit playing. 5. You can't stop me. If my griefing you was an issue, you would stop me. It's really your fault, not mine. 6. This is a PvP game and you are a PvE player, that means you ruin the game for me. 7. This is my personal favorite and in response to me stating that I read an article about players' actions in a game is a response to how they are in real life. So I quote, "Because I am a psycho bent on your destruction. It's your fault I kill you in the game, I can't help myself." IMHO, I think most griefers have had it done to them and see it as they have no choice. If they want to continue playing games they like. Unfortunately, it changes them and how they view games. They eventually grief to avoid someone else to the punch. You know the old shoot 1st and ask questions later. There is no honor in playing PvP cause most players have no respect to their competitors. They don't want to face off beat you in a fair fight, when they know they will lose more often then they can win. They also usually put it on their targets as if it's their fault. For example, The Division perfect example. The DZ was The End Game, a PvEvP zone. PvP players would avoid actually PvP battles and focus on PvE players. Insults, swearing, the whole nine yards. When the PvE players stated the best PvE in the game was in the DZ and they couldn't enjoy it, cause a PvE build was useless in PvP. The PvP players continued with insults. So PvE players started leaving the game in huge numbers. Those who stayed had few options on how to enjoy the game. So Ubi/Massive started adding things to keep them interested, but would do nothing to give them the exact same experience in a PvE DZ like zone. In that regards, the stood by the PvP players allowing them to bully and pick on part of the playerbase. They never did anything to support the PvE players in the DZ. They just called them sheep, but constantly keep doing things to entice them to go to the DZ for rewards. Now Ubisoft is allowing Massive to make a sequel for The Division and allowing the same YouTubers test it. Then claim it will be a game for everyone. They haven't changed a thing and when I left those forums, the same people was still arguing about PvP and PvE. The PvP players don't want the PvE players to have a safe mode where they can enjoy the game. Those same players need those PvE players so they can effectively play PvP in their minds. So to me, I have seen and discussed with Griefers, that will intentionally complain about how bad PvP is, yet they will run from it, change servers just to find those who don't want it. Then brag about how great they are at PvP.

While I was fishing a while back, had a group shoot my horse, so while I was trying to get out of the fishing animation. They just sat there shooting all around me and then ran when I started shooting back. It took several minutes waiting for the horse to respawn.

Scale the missions according to number of players and their levels
YodaMan 3D replied to Joe's topic in Red Dead Online
Last time I did it, one of my teammates kept trying to lasso me. I kept screaming I got this one, get one of the others. So I get him hog-tied and head to drop him off then I had to go fight to get the others. Meanwhile, my teammate stood at the tracks with his gun pointed at him. Like that was going to help. -
Same model and GTA makes a killing finacially. Why wouldn't they get outrageous and go crazy? It makes a griefers paradise. They sell copies of GTA and RDR2. Now they get the same yahoos bying both.
-
Griefers seek easy targets. Many claim to be great PvP players but run when a PvP player shows up. They generally concerned about their K/D ratio to the point that if you kill them easily that they will change servers and then report you for griefing them.
-
So how long till those wagons have rockets on them, or they have horseless buggies. I read online that one dataminer discovered UFOs in his search, but couldn't tell how far that would go. Now if you have a horse and another player has a UFO, that can fly across the map in record speed. Griefing could get out of hand quick.
-
My view is that they will use a similar business model for RDR that they used in GTA. Basically same target audience. So far they have allowed griefers to run amuck with a promise that they will fix that. Hmmmm. This sounds so GTA like. Just waiting for the UFOs and flying Unicorns. To be fair those 2 things probably won't be in the game, but I expect tank like wagons and upgraded firearms.
-
For those who don't use the shortcut and play the game trying to earn, will be at a HUGE disadvantage to those who shelled out several hundred dollars and bought everything up front. Now you give it a year after they have released the flying unicorn with heatseeking missiles that come out of its butt. Those who start from scratch then have buy the Gold Cards or get griefed and left behind. Most likely they will just quit playing, then to try and catch up.
-
How did you get the Arabian? I saved up the gold and it won't let me shortcut. It says I still have to get to like level 72.
