Is this the best RDR2 player right now?
YodaMan 3D replied to The ViceCity's topic in Red Dead Online
I spoke to a guy yesterday that was telling our group about a level up glitch. It was hard to understand him because of his accent, but what I gathered. It sounded more like some players had just found a way to gain quick xp and was just re-running it. Which didn't sound all that fun to me, but no one I come across seems to just want to play the game for fun. -
Considering most was not what I would call common looking. For the most part, the character didn't put out ugly as a whole in GTA. RDR2, they do make it hard to make a character pretty. I figured they would allow improvements down the line with vanity items. Edit: I really do understand where you are coming from. I personally don't see the need to get to worked up over it. We have other issues in the game I would rather them focus on 1st.

Competitive is different then PvP to me. So my suggestions are rodeo or olympic like. What about breaking horses or Bronco riding. Hunting, different classes for different weapons. Freeaim skeet style, where birds fly out . Fishing. Now if you talk PvP, what about a Hide Out Defense, where you see how long a Posse or gang can defend a fort or ranch or camp of some short, then reverse and see how the other camp does.

Better question would be when does he eat or sleep? Way too much free time in my opinion or a cheater. -
Why is it some players can't consider themselves good unless they have some insane disadvantage over another player. All players being on a semi-level playing field is the only way to see how good of a player you really are. Now days players are constantly looking for P2W, glitches, cheats, hacks, or some other shortcut so they can brag about how great they are to the point that they forget to actually enjoy the game. That is why a level playing field is important. Edit: That doesn't mean a 1st day player should come in with with all of the advantages as a 1 year player. Then again a player thats been around for a year shouldn't be looking to grief a 1st day player, for the sake of "fun"

Bounties can be fickle. I started my 1st run and couldn't sneeze without a bounty. I wore a mask and changed clothes often. I got high priced bounties all the time. 2nd time, only bounties I get are the ones I deserve. Now you are going to ask what I am doing different. Not a thing. There will be players that say this isn't true, but it is and I'm not the only one who experienced this. Now my son, who plays on his own xbox. Has shot people in town and never got a bounty. Not sure what happened, but it was totally different gaming experience.

It's Rockstar, I am sure there will be a faster horse soon enough.

Glad to see it touches you creative side. To me, if you want to talk immersion. Back in that day most people wasn't that pretty. Especially in the old west. They didn't where tight fitting clothes from a Victoria Secret catalog. Even your Brothels did always have attractive people. Don't get me wrong there was some. It was rare.

So for all of our pain and suffering? Really? Just kidding. That does sound good to hear and very generous.

I think y'all waste too much time concerned about the appearance of a character that you stare at the backside of majority of the time. I think you need to focus on what you are staring at majority of the day while playing. Not the part that will be facedown into a pillow. Just saying.

I agree that would be bad, but it would be worse is players using glitches and get it in one day keep those that don't, to resort to using them just to try to keep up.
-
When I spawn in, 1st thing I do is look for my horse. If I don't see it I whistle for it.
-
It should be automatic. There seems to be an issue where the horse doesn't respawn when it should. If I was you I would report it to Rockstar.

Should some people just wait until beta testing is done?
YodaMan 3D replied to liquidfire's topic in Red Dead Online
That's because when it comes to software, especially in video games. The world has accepted that they will buy it when manufactures state that they will fix any issues with updates later on down the road. Then they make excuses on why they can't later on. -
It is getting worse with more and more exploits being abused by cheaters. Met a player on xbox last night, that was just a few levels higher then I that had everything that he could get unlocked already Camps, Horses, Max Stable options, and guns maxed out. Whole time he was bragging about some exploit, that was easy money.

Last night, running with a group. We did a mission where we had to deliver mail. One of our gang members ran out jumped on the 1st horse he saw and took off. So by the time I came it, they was already out of rage. So when called for a horse, it said my horse wasn't available. It sent me the old nag. By the time I was able to catch up to him. Once he got off it ran away. I went to the stable, replaced it with my horse and during the next mission it ran away soon as I hopped off. This repeated for several missions. I eventually just shutdown for the night.

It is when you are changing from one game to another, just for that reason. You are not playing the game as intended no matter how many times you tell yourself it's Okay. Rockstar didn't design it hoping players would login and out over and over. They designed for players to play, not abuse an exploit. You are just making excuses. I hate to tell you, you can't convince me it's Okay. It isn't. If you get banned, it's on you. Then again maybe they will have other issues and decide not to worry about it. I heard they maybe resetting characters if the exploit abuse continues, not just this one. So does that sound right that they are Okay with it if they have threatened to reset characters?

So why does it take like 6 shots to kill someone?
YodaMan 3D replied to Tom21's topic in Red Dead Online
Better guns can only take 1 or 2 shots, but they really are pushing the whole head shot thing. Yesterday, in PvP against a gentleman probably hit him 6 times before I got him cause it kept popping in and out of cover making it hard to nail the head shot. Don't get me wrong, he was a really good player, but it was a pain to kill him. -
Response[edit] Developers may find it difficult to identify and respond to an exploit because a player who discovers a vulnerability in a game may be reluctant to inform the game's developers, in order to continue exploiting. However once developers do find exploits the response may include banning players who took advantage of the exploit, changing the game's rules to combat it, or even embracing the exploit. Positive opinion of the exploit can lead to the designers embracing it as emergent gameplay, such as when skiing in the Tribes series of games gained developer support. The now-standard practice of rocket jumping originated in a similar way, by exploiting game mechanics not foreseen by the developers. Otherwise the developers may try to fix the underlying problem or discourage use of the exploit if the issue cannot be clearly addressed by technical means. In severe cases players may be banned. Further, the game state of the world may need to be reset to restore game balance. For example, following a serious currency dupe exploit in EverQuest II, the developers removed large amounts of duped money from the game to address the rampant inflation it caused in the game's virtual economy. I did a google search about cheating in video games. It lead me to this in wikipedia, under the Response to cheating. Now you once again don't believe that just logging in and out to scam some free loot as cheating, but if they choose to they can consider it cheating. Cause seriously, logging in and out repeatedly is not what they intended in the game. Like I said, they may not care, but there was cheats or exploits used in GTA Online that got players banned.
-
Thank you.

You should really listen to yourself. Do you really think that joining a game and leaving game and repeating that over and over and over, just to scam some loot was what Rockstar intended. You really can't convince people that is they true nature behind their thinking. According to you, they have spent 8 years sitting in a room going, "Hey instead of developing a game that players would want to sign in and play for hours. Why don't we create a game where they login and out scamming loot for hours. Cause well it will just be there." I can be an opened minded person, but debating with you about how it's ok to cheat. You don't understand it's wrong. I get it, I grew up in the generation that believed it isn't wrong as long as you don't get caught. If you get caught, just don't be surprised that you get banned. It may not happen. They didn't ban everyone who cheated in GTA Online. Just remember your cheating online with all the fun you are having, is going to affect others. In many cases ruin their fun, when many of them don't cheat.

Where did you see that? I missed it.

(7) you will not cheat or utilize any unauthorized robot, spider, or other program in connection with the Online Services. Straight from ToS. You can't honestly say logging in and out to scam free loot is how the game is suppose to be played. It doesn't matter that players have done it for a life time prior to this. As I have said, I am not a Rockstar employee. If you think it's legit, keep it up. You may get lucky or you may not.
