If the tip says rifle any rifle will do, sniper or 'regular' I used the Springfield for all the rifle hunting. Ammo doesn't downgrade unless you use explosive. never once in my 24 days of play time (counting first and 2nd play through so far) did HV or Express ammo downgrade a hide unless i missed the head shot, and i'd guess probably 22 days of that playtime have been spent hunting. It's how i'm making all my money in the 2nd play through, i'm leaving all the treasures for John to find. I've used pretty much only the Express or HV unless i ran out and didn't feel like running back to a gun shop to get more while i was hunting. cutting the cross in the top at camp also adds a damage bonus if you'd rather not buy the better ammo.

Epilogue Honor Problem [Possible spoilers ahead]
Kormath replied to Tunesome's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I haven't. I didn't wait to do the honor with John, i maxed out the red honor first playthrough as Arthur, you get nothing for that other than people scared of you and lots of rudeness toward you. my second playthrough, i'm in white honor 5 now, i just unlocked the 2nd store discount, in chapter 4. Hoping to get to max white honor in chapter 6 if not before. -
RDR2 Cut Content according to a developer

State Farm commercial was the first that came to mind, but they don't have a meme for it -
Glad you found that! Really awesome when people can do what they truly enjoy. I've been getting paid for my hobby for about 20 years now, and your'e right, i don't work, i come to this office to do my hobby and help people Did the service desk/help desk stint professionally for almost 20 years now, it was a hobby for a few years before that. 2 years ago I got promoted to software developer and system administrator. I don't do much developing, mostly administration on in house software the developers in my group created, and on the servers all our stuff runs from, i'm having more fun doing this than i was on the service desk.

that was my problem. i was fit and toned in high school, was a bench warmer for basketball, but then again i only played to get out of school. I did quite well in track. My best was 4th in state in 100m hurdles my junior year. Then I graduated and got lazy, A steady diet of coke/pepsi/dew and fast food for most meals is not a good diet, unless you want to gain weight fast Doc said i needed to gain weight back then. so i did, now they say i have to lose it, can't ever make them happy can we.

@Truth was a good one. Helped me quite a bit at first, along with @BropolloCreed79. I Joined here about week after the game was released, looking up something for it, can't even remember what now. Best forums are like this, mostly troll free and a great place to chat and find info, share experiences, etc. Pretty rare in these online days to see this. Thanks to all the mods and members that have kept it this way.

DJ or whatever they call the people on satellite radio now, said (as best as i can remember it) I liked GoT, but i only watched up until season 6 i think it was, when Daenerys was taking over the desert realm. Don't think i finished that season before i got bored.

RDR2 Cut Content according to a developer
Kormath replied to DanDud88's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I don't get why this is so hyped, they always cut content to make the story/game flow better. Every game producer does this, not like it's a big sudden discovery it's being done. Can't recall which game it was off hand, but there was one i played years and years ago on pc that updated the cut content so it would play with the released game and sold it as expansion packs. I thought that was kinda cool back then. Now, and after looking at what was supposedly cut i'm glad they cut a bunch of it, some of those sound more like the author's made up fantasies he wishes was in the game -
It's been fixed, no more glitch to exploit.

i just joined a gym. Doc says i need to shed at least 50 lbs. i got rid of about 30 by just changing my diet, those last 20 are a real pain to get rid of lol. Mostly i do the bikes and rowing machines and such, never been much into weights, but i'm told that's the best way to shed the pounds, so i just started working those into my horrible routine of going to the gym lol i blame it all on my gym buddy, they're on vacation this last week

that looks awesome! I had an amazing find easter weekend. I went to my parents house to see my uncle and cousin over from Wyoming. Been about 7 years since i saw my cousin last. They came over to visit, my uncle and come over yearly. Was a treat i guess you could say to see my cousin. Had lots of fun reminiscing. My grandmother recently was moved into assisted living, she fell down again and called my parents, said she'd had enough, she wanted to move. So this year my uncle's family came to look through her things she was giving to the family. I have pictures of her high school diploma from 1934 and whole bunch of memories now. The amazing find was one of her old cookbooks. Printed date shows 1903. It was my great grandmother's cook book. The local women's club made it, all of the members back then contributed recipes (they called them receipts) to make the cookbook. Grandma said there's recipes in that book from her grandmother, who was born during the civil war and lived through the "wild west" in Illinois and then Wyoming. I think i'll have to scan it and make it digital, the pages are showing their age and i don't want to ruin it I haven't had a chance to look through it all yet, but there's some familiar recipes in there. Like chili, and cornbread. I'll have to post any interesting recipes it has.

i've welded in the past, years ago. My first welding experience was burning my eyes when i was 7 or 8 watching my grandpa weld on his logging truck trailer. not a fun experience. So then after that my grandpa taught me how to arc weld, with a helmet and the basic safety stuff with welding, like not watching an arc with bare eyes. In high school we had a vo-ag class that we did a semester of welding. I was top of that class in arc welding but i couldn't "torch weld" whatever the proper name for welding with the cutting torch is, to save my hide. I wasn't bad with the wire feed welder, but not really good either. One of the things we did in the vo-ag class was make flatbed's for the farmers to put on their trucks. I had to weld the seam on the bed of the truck where it meets the backstop that protects the cab. Welds looked beautiful, best i'd ever done with the wirefeed, then the instructor took the hammer to test and just tapped my center weld. It popped, then they all popped and the diamond plate sheet went crashing down to the floor lol. I was so happy with my welds for about 2 minutes. I tried mig and tig welding when i worked at a Conagra Foods (was called something else back then, Lamb Weston i believe) processing plant. the last 2 years i was there, 2001-2003 i was an operator of the big machine that wrapped the cases of goods on the pallets. Also did maintenance on this machine and all the conveyor belts and systems feeding it. They wanted me to weld back then, so i did arc welding, until the maintenance crew came by and said no you have to use a mig or tig for that, something to do with osha back then and the arc welder on a food line. Never could get the hang of the gas welding. So anytime we needed welding done we had to call maintenance.

talk to Rockstar, this is a fan forum, not a Rockstar forum, https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?step=a2541d3e

There's a circle around you that removes the map shading hiding everything, you just need to ride close enough to them for them to show up on the map.
-
Wrong. At the Dakota River they will not flock, you'll find them sitting alone or with other birds on the rocks and logs. Running around the grassy area south and west of Emerald Station they will flock. If you can call 3 flying together a flock, it's the most i've seen flying together. Sometimes they'll fly with other birds also, i shot one that was with a few sparrows last weekend.

not all locations are written on the map.

i knew the progression of the rifle, from the prototype to the Winchester 94, but not the exact dates so i had to cheat and look those up. History is a passion of mine, and guns and the wild west are way up on the interest list. If you get a chance you gotta go see that Firearms museum, i go there every few years when i visit my uncle and get lost for hours.
-
Not quite. Little history lesson Walter Hunt made the prototype for the Repeating Rifle. Only a handful were made, and the only one known to have survived is now in the Firearms Museum in Cody Wyoming (If you're a gun lover like I am and haven't been there, it's a location to put on your bucket list. Place is totally awesome and i can get lost in there for hours on end). The patents of that prototype were purchased by and improved on by Robbins & Lawrence Company in 1849, by Lewis Jennings. Horace Smith (the Smith of S&W) was hired to assist Jennings and they patented the Jennings-Smith in 1851 or 1852, but not many of those rifles were made. These early repeaters used Rocket Ball ammo. Rocket Balls were elongated slugs basically, that had a hole drilled in the bottom about halfway up the slug. The hole was filled with gunpowder and typically capped with a thin piece of cork. The cork had a small hole in it to keep the powder from draining, and to allow for ignition. Courtland Palmer bought the patents to the Jennings-Smith design, and then joined with Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson (who eventually joined to make S&W) to improve the rifle, and redesign the ammo. Thus the Volcanic Repeating Arms Company was born, and the very first repeating rifle with cartridge ammo was built and sold to the public. This was, in part, made possible by an investor - Oliver Winchester - in 1855. the next year Winchester took ownership of the Volcanic Arms, moved it to New Haven, Connecticut and renamed it New Haven Arms. The following year, 1857, Tyler Henry was hired, and over the next few years, experimented with the cartridge ammo and created the rimfire cartridge. He built a modified Volcanic Rifle to use this ammo, the Henry 1860. Over the next few years the New Haven Arms was restructured and became Winchester Repeating Arms, or Winchester as we know it now. and their first rifle was the Model 1866. The 1866 was then remodified to replace the brass/bronze frame like the Henry used, with iron and steel, making it lighter and the action faster and smoother. This is the Model 1873.

that sounds like more of a bug. Seems to me like it lasts half an in-game day (or night). but weather and such will affect that, like heavy rain or swimming.

I think that's part of the side business the Doc is running.
