There's Trippy Commentaries https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVpgH_wZiJNZSsUwMOd1d8g He claims to have solved or explore some of the obscure parts of the game, but his ideas seem (at least to me) to be largely based on guessworkl.

I have also not played RDR2 in a few months. I'm also finding it hard to find console time beyond a couple of games that don't need sound or speedy reflexes (I stream the xbox to my tablet while my partner watches TV in the evening sometimes). I'm also finding there's a lack of really nice story-driven open-world games on Xbox recently. My partner used to like me playing RDR2 as I spend much of it riding through glorious vistas and there's just nothing around to compare to that these days. I've been watching a few YouTubes of Death Stranding, Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tshushima and cursing my lifelong loyalty to Xbox. I really don't know what direction to take - buy a PS5 and junk my gamerscore, or continue with Xbox. I really go hope that R* will remaster RDR2 for the next gen and do it properly.

No. As in complete all of the challenges up to 10. Gambler 10, Sharpshooter 10, etc. Do that and then the trapper should give you the fancy red suit. You don't need to go through the pain of killing thousands of three-star animals.

The one you're missing is "The Legend of the East" - obtaining the outfit that you get as a reward for completing all of the trapper challenges.

Is there a way to save your game after using cheats?
Foxtrot replied to Quentutu's question in Questions & Answers
From what I've read, cheevos and saving is disabled as soon as you enable your first cheat. I guess because doing so has an effect on your game, even after you've disabled the cheat. I'd strongly advise you to finish the game as much as you want to before experimenting with cheats. It probably makes sense to use a previous save game slot in Chapter 2 or 3 so that you can really have fun in the missions and open world. From https://www.rdr2.org/cheats/rdr2/ Why can't you save after using cheats? Rockstar has made the disabling of saves once a cheat has been activated something of a rule in their games. This, coupled with the disabling of achievements too, further support the idea that perhaps cheats in Rockstar titles aren't "cheats" in the traditional sense, but optional gameplay modifiers designed to simply be fun to play around with once you've exhausted the regular content. -
No quest markers for Pouring Forth Oil mission
Foxtrot replied to John Phoenix's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Losing 36 hours of play time? Yeah, done that and without a backward glance. This kind of stuff happens when your favourite horse gets left on the railway track and you leave it for 30 seconds. I've restarted the whole game twice over It sucks that this mission got glitched/stuck for you, but you won't have lost 36 hours because you'll have known what you did over those past hours and should short-cut stuff. -
Yeah, I managed to get it off the stump in the end, I just tipped the trailer onto it’s side and rammed it from the side far enough to clear the stump, dragged it forwards, righted it, and drove it away. I made that mission harder than it should have been, but glad to get all the main Michigan missions done now. I just want to grab the Tartarin before starting in Alaska, it should help a lot in scouting and rescue work. My partner is getting bored of me getting so obsessed with this game.
-
Oh man. I just hauled the gas rig from Drummond Island all the way to the drilling site in Smallville Dam only for it to get stuck on a hidden tree stump 50m from the drop off point. Winching it didn’t get anywhere, reversing didn’t work, using a heavy crane didn’t work, tipping it over and dragging it along its side didn’t work. Have to start the whole mission over. I was so hopeful, even after I managed to drag that thing over the river as a short cut.

The six wheel Yar is Russian, that’s the one I’m using now and it’s a lot less skittish than the Marshall. Towing a scout fuel trailer also calms the handling somewhat. There’s the Tatarin APC which looks amazing, so I’ll get that when I move on to Alaska.

The 64-131 https://spintires.fandom.com/wiki/Azov_64-131 You'll probably find that the trucks you have in Michigan can't really cope in Russia. I sold my American all-terrain truck to buy the Azov and not regretted it. Top heavy and slow, but it can pull anything through anything when you put mud tires on it. Good on fuel efficiency as well, you can run a few tasks before worrying about filling it up again.
-
The Azov is a complete beast, it'll go through pretty much everything. I love it. I have mine with the loading crane and low saddle - this gives me the flexibility I need to pick up pretty much everything. I don't tip over that much any more, just when I get over-confident and go too fast or get too lazy and I think "Yep, I deserved that one". Trailer parks give you the ability to spawn fuel tankers and service trucks in maps where there's no garage. I use a scout fuel trailer with my scout vehicle which vastly improves the range and lets me refuel/repair my main truck in the field. Yes, I sometimes use the winch to anchor myself around turns, or help make the turning radius a lot tighter.
-
The Azov with mud tires has pretty much covered everything I need from it. It does tend to fall over a bit though. Gas stations aren't really an issue. Island lake has a a tanker or two, and a trailer yard. Trailer yards are basically a garage, you can buy a maintenance trailer, refuel and mend your truck and sell the trailer back for no loss. I spotted the twinsteer on my scouting run, not collected it yet.
-
Yeah, same technique for me. I'm on the Island Lake map right now, where the nearest garage is most of the way across another map. So I have my scout towing a fuel trailer and the Azov there, clearing up the watchtowers, ugrades and missions. And doing my damnest not to need a recovery. There are times on narrow trails that I hardly breathe. Once you start playing, it gets really adicctive.

As a developer, you'll know that the best way of contacting a company regarding software issues is to raise a ticket through the official web site. As you're doubtless aware, you're not the only person facing issues and they're most probably working on it or related issues. Or Bully 2. Or GTA 6. Seriously though, Rockstar are like many other companies in trying to keep their employees safe during the current pandemic - response times and resources to do the job are as a consequence affected. They are obviously going to concentrate their priorities on what they feel is truly essential.
-
Nice. I've dipped into all of the regions, but I'm working my way through the Michigan missions and contracts now. Basically clearing one map before moving onto the next. It seems very weird not to have much of a story to it, cut-scenes, or any NPCs. I feel like I'm the only living person in this world.

Please tell me this story gets better...**Spoilers**
Foxtrot replied to Lancerx78's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
The narrative of the story is good. At first glance, it might be just a cowboy gang doing what cowboy gangs do, but there's a deeper subtext here, and a shift of attitudes that you'll pick up as you progress through the story. Stick with it and it will reward you. -
I got bored of Mudrunner fairly early on when I got constantly stuck. The gameplay is far improved for Snowrunner (even though only a third of the maps actually have snow, the rest is mud!). I'm enjoying it, it's a good mix of different kinds of mission and difficulty. GameRiot on YouTube has a lot of gameplay videos, and those really got me hooked. I've been tempted by Maneater as well, which looks a whole lot of fun.
-
Yeah, I've been playing this for a while now and enjoying it a lot, it's challenging but not too difficult. It really does get you into the frame of mind of planning your approach, what customizations/trucks are most appropriate for a job, and not doing things too quickly. I forget how many times I've gone too fast and loose at something and ended up upside down.
-
Yeah, there's a lot for you to look forward to there. Enjoy this.
-
There aren't any Rockstar employees here - this is a fan site. Are you talking about Story mode or Online mode here? In Story mode, you can sell your stolen horses to the Horse Fence - this ability is opened up as part of the story line. I'm fairly sure you can sell your own horses to the stable.
-
Tap left on your d-pad and you should get your log displayed. This will tell you what your current side missions and challenges are.

Reviving an old thread here, but I've been sinking myself into Snowrunner, Very similar to RDR2 in that it involves long hours driving across maps of beautiful scenery and getting distracted by side-quests.
