Its a free up grade, I would never do it, too much negative press in the forums. Someday I'd like to have a Colt copy The Cattleman in 45 Colt looks real nice. I can down size the 45/70 250gr flat noses (.460) and stuff them in a 45 Colt case (.454). My Bud uses them to shoot moles on his property. But then Id have to get a lever in 45 Colt too, and all the fixins. Another money hole I do not need. Just want. My bucket of 45/70s will do just fine. My Bud in L.A. was selling one of his M1as, dont know if its the tanker or standard. Ill stick with the M1 Garand. PING!

Just like every other PvP map, go where no one is until you are big enough to kill their horse. So, somewhere here are the location for upgraded horse and revolver, Get them. Or as Iron Maiden said: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86URGgqONvA

I make my own 45/70 just like the troopers did in the 1870s. About 11 cents a round, and sitting watching the game, and knock them out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3duhNVjAu6E The two screw Rugers with the transfer bar, you can load all six absolutely safe. They just dont have a smooth lightning fast single action like the 3 screws. Like I said, I sold mine 🙂

Honest Abe took two to the head and died, where Bobby Kennedy took 6 to the chest and died sometime later. The 22 is unrealistic, and not a varmint round.

A Modern Lie. I carried my 2 screw for years, the way they carried the peace maker, fully loaded and on first ****. Dropped it several times (doing quick draw). Never went off. The deceptive you tube video that the guy hits his with a 2x4 and it goes off. Well he had the firing pin set against the round. I call him a lair. You just had to be smarter to stay alive. Just like the lawyered up Winchesters and Marlin after 1980. Only fools buy them, or do like I did to many, removed the cross bolt safety. Funny from 1894 to 1979 they didn't come with them, and then someone shot themselves with one, and now everyone suffers. I am not a pistol person, don't have any use for them. That's why I sold the 3 screw. We do own a modern 45ACP, the medium woman can use it. Ill take the 1895 Marlin in 45/70 for home defense any day. Hickok45 is always entertaining, and mostly accurate. He also follow the dandy way of loading 5 shots in a six shooter. Meow.

I have to revisit this range thing. This bugged me all day. Let me put these in real life yardage. Pistols: point blank to 21 feet. Shotguns: Being there are scatter guns, and hunting ones. Point blank to 25 yards RIfles: This is not going to be fun. Opening a can of worms: Carcano M91/38: 80 yards on a good day. Henry 1860: 50 yards from a .44 rimfire black powder pistol cartridge. Krag-Jørgensen Model 1896: 400 yards (Replaced by the 30-06 4 years later) Krag-Jørgensen Model 1889 Artillery Carbine: 300 yards or less. Remington Rolling Block Sporting Rifle: 600 yards (One of my early choices) Sharps 1874 Buffalo - .45-70 caliber 900-1000 yards (my end of game choice) Spencer 1860 Carbine: Another civil war relic 80 yards 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle: The Spirit Gun is what the Indians called them. 600 yards Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy": More pistol black powder 50 yards Winchester Model 1890: What Mark McCain used in the rifleman (Lukus's Son) 50 yards, and no you cant shoot birds out of the sky like in RDD2. Sadly what is missing from this brood are: 1894 Winchester in 30WCF, It out classes all the other pistol caliber repeater, being it was the first rifle cartridge ever made. 1895 Marlin Big Bore Lever in 45/70. For which I own and is my favorite rifle. 1889 Marlin Tip Up. Now called the buffalo Classic. I have one of these that I shoot paper patched boolits out of just like Quigley.

You have a Ruger two screw? A better copy of a Colt Peace Maker. I had A 1969 3 screw. Freakin lightning fast. They are the fastest revolver to unload, and the slowest to load. Two styles of doing this. Punch them all out, then fillem back in. Or The way I do it is, Punch one out, put one in. Tip outs and break opens fixed the slow reload time. As far as Hicky goes, do not confuse real ballistics with game ones. What Ive seen already has my blood boiling. As far as what I will have that is easy. A pair of Peace Makers, a Sharps Buffalo, and a 22 rimfire. Kinda what I have in real life 🙂

Don't be dismayed until a month after live, beta is just that, a test run. Look at it this way, your writing with a brand new pencil. Next week they will give you a pencil sharpener.

NMS is the sadist of the new space games. We checked it out, Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen. Got tired of waiting for Star Citizen, so we started Elite Dangerous. Ive been doing space sims since Planetary Raider in 1994. Elite Dangerous is top dog of all the ones we played.

Censoring is unAmerican. Sorry to the folks in other places. We are not getting along, so the way one side wins is to ban what they do not like in spite of how anyone else feels. Bullies at recess.

Pssst, It takes more energy to start a ballast then it does to keep it on for days. Our can is turned on in the morning, and shut off at night.

I play for emersion, so I never have the music on, ever. When Star Wars The Old Republic came out, I tried to listen to the star wars music, one tactical advantage of hearing before I was hit. Then. like Star Wars Galaxies, they ruined the game, and we left, and it later failed.

Played until Conan Exiles came out in early access. Never looked back.

Just another day. At least I get to game. A day off with pay is always nice

I cant see any other game but RDR2 winning, it is so far away from everything else. I cant even play, yet IM here

A varmint rifle is a long range small caliber rifle. Right now I am finishing up a Winchester 1894 made in 1915. Its caliber is 25-35, a smaller .257 bullet that will out range all of its big brothers. 30WCF (or 30-30 Marlin as its called today), 32 Special, 35 Rem, and 38-55. As the bullet diameter gets bigger, the range shortens. The 25-35 will do 200 yards easy, where the 38-55 will do barely 75 yards. The 38-55 will know a deer or bear down easy, where the 25-35 is for smaller sized critters life yotes on down to rabbits. Using your chart above, varmint should be extreme long range. Funny the term varmint load or rifle was not coined until the 1930. So much for history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varmint_rifle I think one of these calibers existed in our time period. *note1 See the might .223 listed as a varmint round, same one in the dreaded AR15. Now you know how hyped this really is. *note2 I will make a post that has what I think of each of the firearms in the game. I will be carrying a pair of peace makers (45 colt) a Sharps Buffalo, which should out shoot every rifle listed, and a 22 for small game in the saddle scabbard.

PvP is not about sportsmanship, the only thing that matters is the all mighty KILLBOARD. They will kill you any which way they can, hook or crook. One more notch in the handle is all that matters. Back 20 years ago or so, the PvP world was really chivalrous, now dog eat dog. Its not the game, its the young players. I came from 15 years of WWII fighter sims. When pilots did dishonorable things they were publicly shamed. Then WoW came and the killboard became god. As far as I can see, nothing has changed.

When you have seen as many moons as I have, you end up being full of it... Knowledge that is. I thought this was a family channel, didnt want to go naughty on my first day here.

Back then the average death age was 35. The only heath care was your herbs and poultices. If you lived near a town you might find a wannabe doctor. You started work at 6 or 7 years old. You did not buy food, you grew it. In fact this did not stop until the 1950s. Pretty girls went to the highest bidder. Most men that traveled used the red light houses for their needs, and usually died from it. Look at poor counties today, nothing has changed.

They didnt much care for freeloaders back then. First a judge will try you for sealing, then a bounty hunter would track you down, turn you over to Johnny law and off to debtor's prison you go.

Me thinks its more like greave not troll.

Should some people just wait until beta testing is done?
Paladin replied to liquidfire's topic in Red Dead Online
Having beta tested MMOs since the 90s, they are mainly concerned with server stability, and game play secondly. In the last 10 years thew game makers have abused the beta system, and now make folk pay to test their junk, or like Fallout76, use everyone as test dummies even after the game is out. In the last 5 years Ive not found a complete game at launch yet. Been playing Conan Exiles since early access. There still is problems in the game since we started. -
Back then there was no regulation on game or fish, a trot line would have been widely used. A crafted item that should be an upper level item. Like trapping, you set the line and come back to it. Oh yeah need traps too while we are dreaming of period correctness.
