  1. Ah, ok. I go to you now. Well, using the Mauser you get from Billy Midnight as an example, you can see it's stats if it's in your inventory. Is that a unique weapon? I don't recall. The only reason I bring that one up is because I just obtained it today and recall comparing it to my Schofield.
  2. If you're asked to leave, run. Exit the area as soon as possible. The longer you loiter, the more likely they will gun you down for not listening to them. I;ve noticed this with others as well that ask you to leave their property, a crime scene, etc. You can always come back for your horse if that's a trigger. Honestly, it's not as if you have to walk on eggshells when traveling through town. Just don't act like a rowdy drunk running into folks and such. If you do bump one, "diffuse" using the dialogue if they get angry and continue to walk away. I ride through towns and cities all the time keeping speeds to a trot when around people. .....you don't even need to always go that slow. I will even speed up when I see a street is clear if I'm in a hurry. Just be aware that if you hit someone at that speed, they won't just be upset but you will likely be charged for assault or similar. This game is rewards finesse, not heavy-handedness. This is true with whether it's riding horses, gunfighting, participating in various activities, robberies, deception, evasion, NPC interaction and yeah, even just traveling through town.
  3. You can read the descriptions for each Posse. I can tell that the one I created (RDR2 - TeamUp (PS4)) was never meant to be "serious" in that respect but there may be others that fit your requirements. ......or you can just create your own. .....or feel free to join ours if your just looking to find players to join up with when online launches. Who knows, some of them may be interested in teaming up with multiple players with different playstyles.
  4. I would have totally bought this if it had been release during RDR2 development. .....not so much now.
  5. I would manually save regardless at certain points but yeah, good question. Never had that happen to me bu then again, I only lost a horse once so far and that was my own fault (I didn't beat the train).
  6. Yes, the benefit should still exist once you buy the upgraded bandolier from a store even with it unequipped. I removed mine as well as I also didn't care for it.
  7. All I know is that I'm still on chapter 3 and I've spent an insane amount of time in-game. I just keep discovering new things and getting sidetracked. ....eventually doing a main mission once in a while which in turn opens up new opportunities for me to wander off on other quests. 😄
  8. I did this once to another horse and it was totally my fault. .....I realized I pressed "O" by accident. Funny as hell though. IIRC, you can throw punches anytime there is not a weapon at the ready in your hands. ....otherwise "O" is for reloading as you know. You can basically walk up to someone, press "O" and you will throw a punch. For rodents, people on the ground, etc., it will show you will stomping them when you press that button. While on horseback, "O" will show you kicking sideways. .....to fend off predators or other riders alongside you I suppose. I never used it in any of those situations yet.
  9. As Skysaw said, I slow down when getting closer to others that I want to talk to on horseback especially if I am going to engage in more dialogue than a simple one-time greeting. .....it's a hell of a lot easier to keep your horse on the road. Also, if you ride too fast and too close to people when passing on roads, you risk making them upset which makes sense. As for following others, I still use the "autopilot" but I make manual course corrections along the way as needed.
  10. You can see the stats on each weapon in your inventory, when in a store (in the catalogue), etc. so it's easy enough to compare. Perhaps I am not understanding your question?
  11. I wouldn't say they are "lying" but simply made a mistake. The stables are linked but I believe (and don't call me a liar because I'm not sure ) that you are limited to only 4. .....which makes sense since they are linked, yeah?
  12. As MS mentioned, you can time your button presses to the stride of the horse when in a full gallop and you won't deplete it's stamina. There is even mentioned of this in the tips you get in-game. There is also an option you can use to "toggle" the run button so that you don't have to keep pressing it. However, you will still need to tap it for full sprint / gallop. Your horse will begin grunting excessively and eventually start making many more noises as you deplete it's stamina or when you are not timing your button taps properly. In that video, look at how depleted the health and stamina cores are for the horse. Of course, the horse is going to start showing signs of fatigue and discontent. This is all feedback to help you understand your horse's current state. It will get restless when there are predators nearby, it will begin grunting and show signs of resisting when pushed too far, etc. Listen to what the horse is telling you and check the stats. Feed it when you begin to see depletions in the core(s). I don't think you're overdramatizing but I do think some other folks around here tend to assume the game is broken instead of accepting that they might be doing something wrong. RDR2 has more depth in it's mechanics than the game it replaces. If you take the time to learn how those components work, you'll have a much more enjoyable time in the game IMO/IME. btw, I appreciate the fact that you accept that you might be doing something wrong as some others would rather just blame the game than consider that it's within their control. They are heavy-handed in the way they approach the RDR2 game world when the game is now more about rewarding finesse and skill. ....the depth of this title is one major reason I really like it. I enjoy the challenge and it makes me feel that my input has more of an impact in-game vs. just a point, click and shoot experience. I get better as I progress through the story. ....my skills improve, my senses and intuition sharpen, I become more aware of clues and danger in the game world, etc. Some may prefer a simpler, cut & dry experience and I can understand that. .....but that's not what RDR2 is about and I'm all the more happy for it. I wish I could find a video showing you how to time your gallop. I will admit that it took a little practice for me to get it and even then I still don't time it right every time especially in situations of stress (e.g. being chased, shot at, etc.). .....but at worst, I've reached the point where my horse's stamina will drain very slowly.
  13. I swear, I've gone almost a whole year getting on with everyone and then in just this week I've already added 4 to my ignore list. ....first time I've had to use it in these forums.
  14. Way to go being a complete jerk to someone is only trying to help you find a solution. What is it with some of these people lately who have been joining up in the last few days?
  15. yeah, just checked it again. It is in one, very small area of the Grizzlies East area where the indicator shows up. Really weird. I might travel to that site just to see what's up. I don't even know if there is anything of consequence in that specific area.
  16. I saw the same thing. .....don't know if it's still there but wasn't aware of what triggered it or if it was possibly just a glitch. It's was only in one small area of the map that it popped up. You get a dead or alive status if you engage lawmen regardless. .....but you can still pay off the bounty as I have. In this case, it's not documented anywhere (record is clean).
  17. ....oy vey. That's harsh.
  18. Yeah, I think it's a graduated fine starting at 5% and going up to 20% but I would have to research to confirm. Either way, they don't take all of your money from my experience. I think I died once from a posse but never noticed what they took. I was just starting out back then so I didn't have much. ......manual saves are our friends folks.
  19. Yeah, I had the opportunity quite a while back to buy it but passed and that's why I didn't have it for that one encounter. I need to remember to purchase it next time I'm there. .....well, now there's other fences I can go to so I'll check with them. Good to know its permanent. RDR had similar mechanics so yeah, I guess it helps to have played it since you kinda know what to expect. I will say RDR2s mechanics definitely have more depth and it's been a learning curve for me and a lot of experimentation. Either way, there are a lot of guides coming out now describing the intricacies, triggers for these types of events, etc. I try to avoid most of it though as I prefer to figure things out on my own. .....and I don't want to happen upon any spoilers. Speaking of which, came across this a couple days ago and thought since your thread was about bounties it might be sort of relevant. I don;t think this is a spoiler but I'll use that option just in case. It's basically just a list of the crimes, severity of each and bounty amount (SOURCE: https://gearnuke.com/red-dead-redemption-2-guide-bounty-values-per-crime/):
  20. Hahaha...... Funny, that "head into a canoe" is a common phrase Clint Smith uses (weapons trainer and old Viet vet).
  21. As Skysaw mentioned, you need to use the calm feature first. I always check by engaging the horse first (L2 on PS4) and see if that option is available. If not, then I pet it a few times just to be sure and even after calming it down. I've been kicked twice but didn't die either time. The first time I wasn't familiar with the calm mechanic. The second time, I calmed the horse down but apparently not enough. ....that's when I started to pet them after. Hadn't had an issue since. I have also used the patented Creed method and shot the darn thing if I didn't want to bother or was in a hurry.
  22. Honestly, I've been playing quite a lot (I'm semi-retired now so I have no schedule) and my experience has been quite the opposite. I simply don't agree, that's all. ....and thanks for the tip on the bolt cutters. I knew I could buy them but at that particular point I had passed on the purchase. .....it would have been nice to have them back then though.
  23. I played a few hands and got my butt handed to me. .....I think they were cheating.
  24. Ah, tell me you didn't just go there. Seriously though.... FC5 was a mess IMO. Talk about a game not delivering on expectations for me. They butchered that franchise after FC2. .....ok, ok, I'll calm down now.
