  1. I've had a lot of "What the....?" moments where I've blurted the words out loud.
  2. I'm still in chapter 5 myself but now looking to continue the story. I'll bet that I'll be in Ch6 for a while as well. RDO will likely be out by then or even before I finish.
  3. Lemoyne you mean? Probably a post worthy of a spoiler alert but no, I haven't run across it. .......yet.
  4. Looks nice...... Good luck on the hunt Creed. ......and happy Thanksgiving.
  5. That's the way to do it right there.
  6. Best ever made? I wouldn't say that because there are other games I like for other reasons that don't really compare to RDR2. .....they provide a different gaming experience. I don't think I would consider any "one" game as the "best" but RDR2 will certainly go down as one of my favorites especially in this genre. .....but then so did GTV5 and RDR1.
  7. Lol.... Yeah, hunting is not my bag either but still one of those skills I wish I had learned. I have my old Ruger MkII and 10/22 for when my kid gets older but yeah, the airsoft route is beginning to look like a good route for an intro. The only rifle I want now is an M1A Scout then I'll be happy.
  8. That's a big step. While not old (mature) enough in my mind yet to wield a firearm (he's a little younger than yours), I still quiz my son on the 4 basic rules that all children should know about when they encounter them "in the wild". .....stop, don't touch, get out of the area and tell a family member / adult. As he gets older we'll be talking about the 4 basic rules of gun safety when handling firearms. My dad taught me on BB guns in our backyard. Nowadays I have been entertaining the idea of Airsoft guns as a decent alternative for instruction. I have my old Ruger MkII and 10/22 when he's ready to move up to the real thing. .....fun times.
  9. I don't get it either especially in a game like this that is obviously meant to be explored and soaked in. I also don't understand the bragging some do about such things as I simply don't care. It's a game and personally, I'd rather take my time and enjoy them rather than rush through. The only exception are those games I tend to find boring or annoying over time. FC5 was a good example of an open world that to me felt shallow and repetitive. I rushed through the last half and then uninstalled that mess. .......RDR2 is the exact opposite IMO so I'm taking my time.
  10. I remember the word newbie being used but not necessarily in a negative sense. It simply meant that person was new to the game, job, activity....whatever. From what I remember, when n00b started getting thrown around it was typically meant as an insult. Hell, many of the words the younger generations use these days I have to look up. We're way beyond the simple "lol" type words of the past that were easy enough to figure out. At this point however, I'm too old to even try or care for that matter what these terms / abbreviations / labels even mean. I had enough of acronyms, terminology, etc. from business when I was still working. Funny, I remember first hearing people start to use the term "net net" in the office. ......what the? (I thought to myself). Had to ask someone after we got out of a meeting. What did he mean "net net"? Turns out they can't just say "net" or "the bottom line" but now it's "net net". From one meeting to the next, it just caught on as I'm sure it had in other businesses. .....same thing happens in gaming and online communities.
  11. Ok, but like I said, we're talking about RDR2 and not a gameworld full of tanks, planes, cars, flying motor bikes, etc. Yeah, where there is a will there is a way and folks will always take advantage of exploits. However, let's keep it in the context of RDR2 and what R*s goal has been with this title. As I mentioned before, GTAV was all about the ludicrous, the outrageous, etc. RDR2 is a bit more "serious" and about the immersion in the RDR gameworld and late 19th century time period. Will there be some silly elements? ....yeah, sure. .....but I don't expect it to be anywhere on the level of GTAV. Again, remember that GTAVO and RDO will both be games that will be be supported side by side. It wouldn't make sense to create an online game experience with RDO that was the same as GTAVO. R* wants to keep GTAVO going into the foreseeable future and I have no doubt that they will. They have made it clear (IMO) that while RDO may share some elements of GTA, it will still be a different experience.
  12. .....talk about a movie that doesn't hold up to time. It was cheesy back then but so bad now. Funny how I remember exactly what you were talking about. 😄 Captain Bennett has to be one of the worst bad guys in movie history especially paired against Arnold. .....as if we're supposed to believe this overweight, out of shape Australian was a match for Matrix. I guess the chain mail was supposed to help sell it. 🤣
  13. That whole are over there on that coast and through the Roanoke region (where the hillbillies are) can be brutal. Seems you mess with one of them there, all the locals join in. I had a similar issue in Van Horn where I antagonized someone due to the lip he was giving me. Thought I would get in a fist fight, knock him out and continue on my way. .....well, as soon as he got pissed enough, he threw a punch and then several others joined in. Guns inevitably came out and then I was in a fight with the whole town trying to get out. In contrast, not all towns are like this but this region is. Had the same problem in a small hillbilly village when I decimated the whole town. .....screwed my whole moral gauge on that one but never got a bounty. No one ever threatened to go to the law but seemed to take matters into their own hands instead. I'm sure this is by design and I like it. ....gives a feeling of variety. I don't react to things in this region the same I would in others. Also, those Murfee Brood(?) boys are all over the place. I was attacked 3 consecutive times my first time through there. I was literally fighting my way out of the region. ....barely made it but luckily most of them were on foot. Fun stuff.
  14. I said it before but I think it bears repeating so I am not misunderstood.... Personally, I think that the whole mechanic is not fully understood and quite frankly, that is where I think R* fails. They should offer a comprehensive explanation detailing what those "triggers" are and how a players current bounty level, actions, moral gauge, etc. affect NPC and gameplay. Some of this could even be randomization as to what an NPC might do. If you've noticed, some are not as easily intimidated as others, quicker to engage you, etc. Personally, I don't tend to rack up bounties. I pay them off almost immediately and in the cases where they are high (typically due to a mission), I avoid the area/state until I can pay it off. The game has been fairly predictable for me. As for the automatic bounty due to no action your part , I don't know what to say about that. If it indeed was due to nothing you took part in, I would say its a bug. Everytime I had a bounty I could either see it on the map or on my information screen (when I use the D-pad down button) when I was in the affected area. Once I entered an area where a bounty was whether it was a town like Strawberry or state, I would see the bounty. $400 is awful high as the only time mine have been that much was due to a mission. .....but then again, I don't tend to collect bounties as I pay them off when I can and I also tend not to perform acts that will get me in serious trouble for the most part.
  15. ......there's a sub forum for RDO and also a couple active threads on the topic.
  16. PS Now sucks. ....at least it did for me and my internet speed is decent. It's BS that the PS4 never was backward compatible with PS3 games but now recent rumors / leaks about the PS5 (via recent patent appllications, etc.) indicate that the new console may accept PS4 games. Anyhow, use the free trial and see for yourself if it works in your situation. It did for me the first day but then I had issues after that.
  17. You have to rewind the video so you can see the event. Death by glitch (fell through the map). OP, this is why you need to manually save every now and again.
  18. ......*Saint Denis. I think it's also fair to acknowledge that some players are simply overstating their experience though as a few of the explanations I've heard have clearly show they are takking a hamfisted approach to the game. I'm not saying that is necessarily true for all who have complained about the bounty mechanic but I also believe that at least a portion of those players are a victim of their own actions. .....in other words, the game is working as designed in those cases but it's simply a matter of either not understanding or not wanting to understand how it does. The bounty, detection and witness system is more complicated than some know and quite frankly, R* does a pretty lousy job IMO at describing it for players. ....with information scattered in tips, etc. within the game or sometimes not at all. I posted the following in another thread but thought it might be of some help here as well. ......and this doesn't even cover all aspects of these mechanics: There is a method to the madness and deeper than some understand. Here is a pretty decent explanation https://www.dexerto.com/red-dead-redemption/how-to-never-get-a-bounty-in-red-dead-redemption-2-wanted-system-explained-218399
  19. I dunno about this one. If you're going to spend big money on these vehicles, then what's the point if you can't use and have fun with them? If there was the risk of losing and having to repurchase them again, there would be little sense in buying them in the first place. As for RDR2, it's a different ballgame IMO. ......for obvious reasons. There was information about this that was leaked / rumored which mentioned that the radar would be restricted to proximity vs. the entire map. If that's true, I hope the restriction is limited to what you can see on the minimap or even closer. Well, it already works that way in RDR2 now so I would imagine it will in RDO as well. This is already different in RDR2 so I don't see that changing in RDO. In GTAV, the mechanic was the same for the campaign and GTAVO. In RDR2 you're limited to two long guns and two handguns and ammo is capped. Yeah, not sure how this will play out in RDR2 but given the differences between the game and R*s drive to immerse the player in the RD gameworld, I suspect ammo purchases will be limited to stores / vendors and perhaps (still) dead bodies (looting). I've heard this argument before but you need to take these things in context.... GTA and RDR are two different games. GTAV/O was all about the outrageous, indulgences, humor, etc. RDR2 is a more "serious" game that's all about immersing the player in the 1899 universe. There will still be "vehicles" but more along the lines of wagons with mounted guns, etc. Things that are at least within the realm of the believable for that period. I just don't see them doing anything like flying trains, etc. in this game. They've been very tight lipped about it and I suspect we'll know more about a week before launch. I too hope for more of a focus on co-op and given some of the vague indications, I think there may be. They have already said that they will be using some mechanics / ideas from GTAVO and I think it would be naive to think that they wouldn't use some of what they've learned from that game and apply it in RDR2. .....but folks also need to realize that GTAVO is not dead. It will still exist alongside of RDR2. It wouldn't make sense to copy the exact same formula. RDR2 will be a different experience I'll wager.
  20. Than I would suggest reporting it. .....don't quote it again. I swear, I can't go anywhere without worrying someone is going to ruin the rest of this game for me.
  21. I have a feeling he's either trolling or guessing (first post and then no follow up). Besides, I would have seen something through Twitter from one of my sources on this if it were official. Never trust info like this unless someone can quote a source. ......and even then take it with a grain a salt depending on who that source is.
  22. I never count my drinks. ....probably why I'm always surprised when the beer runs out in the fridge. Luckily my wife takes care of that for me.
  23. Yeah, I don't know how to tell with PS4 either. .....if there is even a way. The R* Social Club should have this information but it doesn't.
  24. Yeah, I use the intimidation angle when possible. The lasso works good to quickly stop them as well.
