  1. Yup. That's the exact spelling. I just sent you an invite to the Community so you should see that soon.
  2. That's the thing.... I don't know if it works. I never tried to see if someone I blocked ever showed up in a session with me again. I just started blocking RDO players last night that I observed were trolling others.
  3. The only announcement they made about wiping player data was on the beta release notes. They simply said that they may have to. .....nothing more, nothing less. The RDO beta is a work-in-progress beta. It unlike most of the ones we see on console where the product is essentially complete but the company releases it to help promote the game and stress test servers (usually lasting just a few days). .....with few changes being made once final. I have a feeling RDO will be in beta for several weeks. The game is still in development which could be good news for us if R* pays attention to the feedback they have been receiving from fans. The bad news is that we may not have a complete online experience for a while. Whether they have to wipe the server data or not will likely depend on what updates they have to make, exploits they discover, etc. It may simply not be possible to keep the data depending on what they have to alter in the process. The thing is that this is an open beta where everyone who is participating are customers. I don't see R* wiping data unless they really have to. ....and even then, maybe it's only certain aspects that require being reset.
  4. Yeah, there seems to be no consequences. .....or at least lasting ones. I never saw a dollar amount on my head but my friend and I tore up a town just to see what would happen (only killing NPCs mind you). Escaped, then stopped and killed a few waves of lawmen and then they stopped coming. ....went back to town and it was as if nothing happened. I suspect this is simply one of those components that had not been added yet. I would also like to see bounties on those who kill fellow players indiscriminately. ....with NPC posses that chase after them.
  5. Well, if it's any consolation, I saw the following in a Tweet this weekend from R*. I am sure they've been receiving a ton of complaints about the lack of invite-only sessions, trolls, etc. .....and this response (IMO) likely came as a result of that and the complaints about the economy: Good on you for submitting your feedback. I've read the responses to the R* tweet and what folks have been saying on various social media. It seems (to me) the biggest complaints are what you brought up (lack of session options) and the in-game economy.
  6. Yeah, that really sucks. Friday night when I was experiencing really bad lag, one of my friends logged on. Too bad that was his first experience with the game that night. To top it all off, missions wouldn't populate or simply wouldn't work right when they did. We were also trolled several times. 24 hours later my other friend (first time as well) logged on and we had a blast. Things were smooth, missions worked and we really didn't run into any trolls. Personally, in some sessions it seems they are trying to throw too many people together. Other times (when it's less crowded) everything works better. .....animals spawn in, missions show in the map and work, griefers are more tolerable (obviously), etc. I have counted players in each session but that's the way it seems to me at times. Maybe it had nothing to do with that and each session was full. ......dunno.
  7. I will admit that I haven't tried it in RDO but IME, most co-op matchmaking is hit and miss. ......mostly miss. Having said that, I have met a handful of good gaming friends this way in past games that I still team up with.
  8. He really knows how to use that auto aim. He's obviously really talented.
  9. My fiends and I had no success with this either although as Krow mentioned, it could be something that is added later. .....I will certainly submit my suggestions for it on R*'s feedback site. It was always a good way to get some decent cash in GTA, would be nice to be able to steal horses or capture them in the wild in RDO for the same purpose.
  10. Yeah, this really sucks. I try to kneel whenever and walk into cover if I'm doing things like that. .....but as soon as you open the catalogue, your character stands up. I'm not sure you can stay kneeling and off the radar and do this. If not, it would be nice if you didn't show up on the map while browsing the book. ....with the map, you can at least keep an eye on what's coming but with the catalogue, you have no idea until you hear something happen. As far as skinning, they should let players at least break animation IMO. I'm usually with people so we will watch each others back as we do. ....and as long as other player blips are on the radar, I will keep checking the map periodically to make sure they are still a safe distance.
  11. Wait a minute..... The Moon landing was fake?????
  12. Yeah, that's why I was intrigued when some folks were saying that (on PS4 at least) when you block someone, it won't allow the game to matchmake you with them. I never really had to block folks like this so this is news to me (if true). Funny, I logged in last night and spawned in the Grizzlies. I knelt down and then watched the big map. I could see a couple posses that were obviously trolling other players so I blocked them. I might try this a few times before starting sessions and perhaps eventually my chances of being paired with such folks will lessen a bit. .....which is probably a pipe dream when you think of just how many folks are likely playing (or will be playing) RDO. .....speaking of which, I wonder if anyone has numbers on how many folks have been playing the beta this past week.
  13. Luckily enough, I haven't had that problem (was on last night as well). The worst I had was bad lag on Friday night which was likely due to the traffic from RDO being released to everyone. .....but this is an actual, work-in-progress beta unlike some that are nearly a finished product and use an open beta for stress testing servers and/or marketing. I hope those that are having problems (or have suggestions) are using the R* website to submit their feedback. Personally, I look at this as an opportunity to help effect change in this game as it's still under development. ....somewhat rare nowadays (on console). Whether R* actually does take a direction I prefer is another story. ......I'm just taking a wait and see approach right now.
  14. You're talking about reporting a player and that can be done from within the game if you wish to do that. We were discussing blocking a player so that you won't get matched with them, receive msgs, etc. There is nothing for anyone else to review.
  15. So it has to be sent in for review first? You can't determine who you don't wish to play with? That doesn't sound right. I could understand that process for disciplinary action but not blocking as that onky affects you and the player you don't wish to play with.
  16. Normally I would recommend trying a second controller or try another game (perhaps GTAV since the mechanics are similar) to see if you can replicate the issue and confirm it is the controller.
  17. Yeah.... I'm not diggin' the fact that they even allow weapons to be purchased with gold but lets see how it shakes out. That's the only thing I can think of....
  18. A current solution I can suggest is to find friends to play with. Solo play is essentially a death sentence right now. Trolls prey on the weak and if you're alone, you're weak. .....safety in numbers my friend. Until they introduce invite-only sessions and/or some form of a passive option, this is your best bet IMO. Also, passive mode doesn't have to be the same as GTAO. There are ways they can have the mode where griefers would not be able to switch back and forth so easily. ....maybe not making the option switchable in the session? .....maybe switching could only be done while in your apartment / business? Anyhow, I won't play RDO in its current state alone.
  19. I never saw where this was even possible. There are some weapons that are unlocked due to he version of the game purchased, preorders, etc. but I never saw an option to buy a weapon with gold (just in-game cash). I know some items (like cosmetics) where you can use gold or cash and some where it's just gold. Personally, I just wish they did away with the gold bars, stick with an in-game cash system and make the economy more fair. .....and then go with a Shark Card equivalent, but that's just me. What I don't like is things like horse insurance (for some types of horses) being locked behind gold bars.
  20. I couldn't even stomach the $200 for the cost for creating one so I stuck with temporary. Glad to hear you have a good group of folks to play with. It does really help.
  21. Yeah, trolls aren't limited to just young kids. A lot of others are doing it too, including adults. R* chose to include and market all of these other elements into free roam like hunting, fishing, coop, solo play, story missions, side quests, etc. ......so yeah, I do expect that I can do these things with friends (or alone) and enjoy them. The issue is that trolls tend to dictate what players can do most times simply because the game lacks consequences for those that choose to troll. ....and currently lacks alternatives for those that don't wish to be exposed to their grief-like actions. I'm quite confident R* will introduce invite-only sessions and perhaps passive options, etc. to mitigate the issue. In the end, that's all that matters to me. EDIT: btw, R* just posted this a few minutes ago on Twitter: I think most can read between the lines here that complaints about griefing is at the root of this response. ....and they continue to say:
  22. Curious...... Where did you get this information about gold bars being used to buy weapons like shotguns? R* announced that gold bars would be used for cosmetic items and I've seen them for convenience components as well like horse insurance.
  23. Thanks Ghost. I was responding from my phone otherwise I would have included the link.
  24. Makes total sense and who knows, I may also walk away for a bit while they update the game. I was almost ready to do that after last night. .....horrible experience. Trolls were out in force, lag was awful, missions wouldn't populate or work right, etc. I felt bad for my friend sinve that was his first experience. Fast forward to this evening and it was a totally different experience. Hell, it was the first night we never ran into a troll. ......a couple questionable guys, sure, but no trolls thankfully. It's hit and miss right now for me but I know they will eventually provide more session types, options, etc. that will improve the gameplay experience for all. .....hopefully with exception of the trolls
  25. ...lots of cool details and mechanics in the gameplay.
