There is a Posse subforum where you can join or create your own group. Works pretty nicely. We've got about 30 in our particular PS4 group now. I've got 26 in my PSN Community I created as a result and a number that have sent friends requests. Great way to organize a pool of players to join up with.

Hoover is right. RDO isn't the final release. It's still in beta and R* has made that abundantly clear. Now, if someone would rather wait for a more complete online experience, I would advise them to hold out until the final release. ....but other than that, I'm glad they made the beta open to all owners of RDR2 during development as our input will (has) been able to help shape the online experience in the final product.

Yeah, that's what I hear. The action on the 3 screws was noticeably better. Why some people purposely sent their 3 screws in to be converted is beyond me. If I had one, I would have kept it as is. I even heard that if they sent theirs in for other work, Ruger would do the conversion regardless (liability legal bull crap). IIRC, the new Vaquero brought back the 4 click mechanics while retaining the transfer bar. Thought about some of the Uberti replicas. Their quality these days seems to be pretty decent and there's no way I'm going to get my hands on originals let alone be bothered to search for them. Something about shooting those types of weapons provides a peek back in time. It's a fun experience. All I want now is an M1A Scout and I'll be happy.

If this block feature on PS4 works like folks are saying, I'm thinking about applying it to these early levelers. I doubt few made that rank legitimately if they are already that high at this point and quite frankly, I have no interest in being matched with them. At some point, at least some will begin to use their inflated rank and purse to their advantage over others in the session. Without private options, this is the only way I have some control over randoms in my world (albeit likely very little given the number of players out there).
-
No doubt there are those taking advantage of exploits in the game to achieve those levels. I've had a couple shown to me although I didn't take advantage of them.

Yeah, the gold for insurance was a bad move. Glad they changed it to cash. With the new economy, $150 wasnt a bad price for my Arabian.

I've got to work at it as well with the exception of 1911s. Those guns simply feel natural to me. Now I'm not talking competition level here, fast draw, operator tactics, etc. ......just getting lead on target. I don't get out to the range as much as I'd like or perhaps I should.

I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree on the carry with 5 topic. I know some are comfortable carrying with 6 in the design in question and I won't argue that. There's plenty of information out there on the topic for folks that are interested. On the flip side, I never personally experienced an issue with a transfer bar in my Blackhawk over the course of 30 years and countless .38 & .357 ammo. ......and its is still a great shooter for what it is. I like guns of all types and if I could, I'd own a lot more than I do. I like the historical significance of some, designs, fun factor and practicality of others. They aren't just tools for me to own. I have weapons that have no other use to me but for fun / interest. Funny, as look back, no one in my family has ever sold a gun and I don't think any of us have ever even considered it. Although I do have friends that trade and sell all the time as they get bored some, etc. I like Hickock 45. He's genuine and isn't full of himself like some other YT personalities out there. I also like channels like Ian McCollum's Forgotten Weapons. Really cool and interesting designs & history behind a lot of the guns he showcases.

Just got my gold and cash bonuses this evening

Yep.... It's a 2 screw 6 1/2" that I bought new in the late 80s or early 90s. I think the Vaquero made its debut shortly after so it was around that time. I also recall looking at a Blackhawk convertible with a 9x19 cylinder along with the .357 / .38 it came with. .....kinda wish I got that. Would have been nice to have a weapon that shot 9mm since I never bought one that fires that caliber in all these years. I'm more of a 1911 guy and my other pistol is a .44 Magnum 629. ....then of course the .22s. I know the old 3 screws are rather sought after. It would have been nice to have the old 4 click mechanics like the original simply for historical interest but it's still a great revolver. ......and I can load all six cylinders for carry without worry. Yeah, as far as reloading, I cradle the gun in my left hand and rotate the cylinder with that middle finger and thumb while using my right to punch them out with the plunger (if that makes sense). I then do the same with the left and use the right to insert the cartridges. I never tried unloading and then reloading one into each chamber at a time. Seems a lot faster just unloading them all and then reloading. .....but then again, I was never in any rush to do so. Unloading is definitely faster though especially after shooting the first cylinder full of the session as they can sometimes just drop out on their own. My Dad has a Winchester model 94 (30-30) and a Super Blackhawk among others. .....fun stuff. While not historical relics themselves, these similar, newer versions of these iconic weapons still evoke thoughts and feelings of those times in history.

I love his channel and been a fan for years. This is a good example for those few I've heard that say the weapons of this period were not accurate or even dependable. Big misconception some have about that. Another funny thing is how fast the SAA (I think they call it the Cattleman in RDR2) reloads in the game. The player is actually ejecting and reloading at the same time. I have SA Blackhawk (basically a modern SAA) and while I can eject the brass and reload it relatively effectively, it takes a lot longer than what the game portrays. Great post and link @Abysstic

Cool. Hope it does the same for me today.

The 12/14 date was for the reimbursement of money for those that bought weapons at the old prices. They will be refunded at some point between now and 12/14. The $250 and 15 gold bars was supposed to be paid out straight away is what I understood. I'm going to reset my system and check again later today.

I'd be happy with private sessions but if I'm going to be honest (at least for now) trolling isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
-
I just had to wait the 2 minutes and then I was able to call him.
-
If you need someone to tag along when you do, hit me up. Surprisingly enough, the trolling hasn't been that bad in most sessions I'm in lately. It's much better with a team though. .....even with just two people it makes a big difference.

I have done the same and I agree. We had a couple players try to act friendly last night only to try and kill us after. One joined our posses. We all laughed because no one knew him (posse setting was mistakenly public I guess). He followed us around but tried to shoot one of my team members (FF wasn't on). The leader made it private and then kicked him as we were riding away. He took offense, started shooting at me so I killed him. .....twice. .....along with his horse. So yeah, I tend to get on the offensive when someone is acting squirrely but I don't always wait for them to fire first. IME, someone who I shoot first was either really dumb for doing what they were doing around me and/or directly threatening myself or my posse.
-
Yeah, I played last night and felt things were much better balanced. I was able to buy my Lancaster for roughly $200 less than it was listed for before (IIRC) and insure my horse for $150 instead of the 5 gold bars it required before. Also made about $150 during my session even with all the screwing around. Much better than before.
-
Thanks. I paid the $4 and the respawn issue (getting the nag instead of my Arabian) seems to have abated. ......at least during last night's session. Also, insurance was now $150 instead of 5 gold bars.
-
Yeah.... Instead of 5 gold bars the insurance for my Arabian was $150 last night so I bought it. Also, I checked the stable option in the menu as someone mentioned and after paying the $4, my horse recall issue seems to have vanished. ......at least in last night's session.

I haven't seen an update notification yet and I'm on the West coast of the U.S. (PST).

What I don't like is when the characters don't really look like what they did during the creation process. GTAV was like this as well. They always seem to be a little off in some ways to me. ....wasn't too bad in my second character creation in RDR2 though.

Thanks. I'll check that as well. Would this fee go away with insurance? Curious as to why I would have this fee with my Arabian and not the other horse I had. ......which I sold like an idiot since I didn't have the money to stable both.

Well, there are a lot of women these days that owe their "looks" to lots of makeup and plastic surgery. There are many women who men consider knockouts but would certainly not feel the same way if they saw them before they got all dolled up. My wife has a couple friends like this. I was literally in shock seeing them without warpaint the first time. My wife has natural beauty which means the the little bit of makeup she does occasionally use makes her features pop but she still looks like herself.
