  1. Yeah. Says my other horse is not available. I didn't have to deal with that with my first horse after the theft mission. I'll try your workaround. ....what a pain in the arse though. I hope they fix it soon.
  2. You know what's funny..... The horse I started out with from the first intro mission was about as good as the Chestnut Arabian I cashed in as a freebie. Trouble is, now my horse gets taken from me for weird reasons and I have to pay 5 gold bars (I didn't have previously) for insurance. I wish I would have just kept the other horse for now. I rarely got stuck with the nag and it was available every time I logged in. .....with the Arabian, I have to go to the stable every time I start a new game to recover it.
  3. I's sure they wanted to keep the stock market in GTAO but had to cut it for that reason. .....can't sell in-game money for real currency and then have folks be able to gamble with it. The gold bars make sense in that respect. I just don't like how they are tied to horse insurance currently. Cosmetics are fine.
  4. Sounds like things just got tweaked a bit like you said in another thread. ......cost lowered, payouts increased, values balanced so they make more sense, etc. Regardless of what certain individuals might say, this is not a P2W economy. Gold bars (for the most part) are limited to aesthetic items which is what R* said their plans were. Personally, I wish they would have just stuck to in-game dollars like GTA but my gut tells me this is due to some plans they may have to introduce gambling later down the road.
  5. RED DEAD ONLINE BETA – WEEK 1 UPDATE We want to thank the Red Dead community for playing and sending us tons of valuable feedback during the first full week of the Red Dead Online Beta’s availability. This feedback is crucial to help shape the game as we move forward. Today we are starting to implement the first set of adjustments to the game including changes specifically geared towards creating a more balanced, fun and rewarding overall experience, across all modes and missions. These include: Increasing the cash and gold payments across a number of different activities including Free Roam Missions, Free Roam Events, replays of A Land of Opportunities Missions, Showdown Series modes and more. Reducing the prices of most weapons in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co Catalogue and Gunsmiths. For players that have already purchased weapons at the previous prices, we will automatically deposit the difference to player balances starting today - please look for an alert message the next time you log in to the Red Dead Online Beta to notify you of this change, refunds may take up until December 10th to reach all players. Balancing the values of select pelts, skins and fish as well as horse reviver and pamphlets. Of course our efforts to improve and balance the Red Dead Online Beta will continue. We are conscious of and still evaluating an assortment of further adjustments based on feedback from the community. We are currently working on fixes for some persistent bugs that are causing some players to be kicked from sessions, and we aim to have fixes for these live next week. We will also continue to review all the feedback and suggestions so please keep them coming to reddeadonline.com/feedback. As an added thank you for playing and helping us through the beta period, we're also awarding everyone that joined in to play the Red Dead Online Beta at any point through midnight PST today with a gift of RDO$250 and 15 Gold Bars. Gifts should start arriving today and will hit all eligible players by Friday, December 14th. Once again, we want to thank everyone for playing the Red Dead Online Beta and sharing their experiences so far with us. There’s still lots more to come so please stay tuned!
  6. ...and FYI, if anyone hasn't played RDO yet, if you logon before midnight tonight you will still get the free gold and in-game cash bonus (15 gold & $250).
  7. FYI..... If any of you haven't played RDO yet up to this point, you can still logon today before midnight to take advantage of the free bonus (15 gold and $250).
  8. Just created a thread about it but the update lands today. Seems it's all about economy changes. Weapons will cost less and payuts will be more. Players who purchased weapons previously will be credited. ....plus, a bonus of 15 gold and $250 for those of us who have played during this period. 10. It's an open posse so join away.
  11. The damage model of this game has little to do with any historical significance of the accuracy or lethality of weapons of the period. .....which by the way were plenty accurate. Yeah, the damage is spongy but then again, the game itself is rather arcadey in that respect so it is what it is. R* games are also heavily dependent on auto aim so go figure. I still love the RDR and GTA series though.
  12. No, I wouldn't say it's customary and no, not everyone is linked together as PSN friends. Personally, I've connected with several folks here as PSN friends but even among those, I don't think I've had the opportunity to even go online with them yet (just other friends I already knew). ......no pressure.
  13. Obviously, without sending friend requests you won't see when other people are on. However, the PSN Community gives you the opportunity to see when other players are in game and send them messages if you wish (those that have the option on to appear online that is). The "Now Playing" tab will obviously show who is currently playing and if I'm not mistaken, you have the choice to join their session without being PSN friends. .....although in a game like this it's probably better to send a message if they don't know you so they don't think you're a troll out to kill them. Even with friends I'll still send them a msg making sure it's ok (in case their posse is full or they have other plans). Hope that answers your question.
  14. I know how you feel. I just want my old horse back. It was decent and at least with him, I rarely had to deal with the nag.
  15. Ever heard of forum rules "buddy": Haha.... 🙄
  16. .....other than the fact that they say they are aware of the issue which in my opinion is good news. I would suggest folks still submit their complaints if they are experiencing these issues though.
  17. Hi Red, While I completely understand your intention here and I could see this as a way to block users who troll casuals, the forum rules still apply here as well: I'd rather respect the rules in this case. I know it's our posse forum but it's still their house. Hope you understand. Having said that, I've spent a few minutes each session simply observing player behavior and then blocking those who are obviously trolling others. I have heard that when you block someone it will not match you up with them in RDO. Do you know if this is true?
  18. If I'm not mistaken those are activities within your own posse.
  19. I thought that option only removes the hovering tags for the player that selects the option (not everyone else). ....meaning, all other players will still see our tag as long as they have the option on, right?
  20. They didn't say anything specific about resetting players due to exploits and glitches. ......simply that they may "in case of issues". However, they also provided another update earlier today on Twitter regarding resets to help temper what I believe was an overreaction to some news outlets to what was simply a CYA disclosure and some community remarks made on social media: Personally, I'm not going to worry about it.
  21. Well, Rockstar just posted another update today on Twitter and this time to address the concerns of a stat / progress reset. As some of us mentioned, R* doesn't want to reset everyone if they can help it. Hopefully they continue with this kind of feedback to their fans. .....and here's hoping that economy update is able to make it out this week.
  22. If you crouch, you're icon will show as grey which means no one can see you. Also, I suspect some are using the respawn feature to get out of firefights. I've spent a while examining other player's behavior on the main map. Sometimes the players disappear only to show up a bit of a distance away. .....sometimes they disappear but show up relatively close to where they were. Other times the icons seem to jump around a bit in close proximity which I can only guess is lag. On the minimap though, if a player disappears, it could be that they have crouched to avoid detection or respawned. I have a feeling some trolls may be doing that to get around their victim and to try and gain an edge. If you start running when crouching, you will be seen again. If you skin and animal, look at the catalogue, etc., you're detectable. You have to walk while crouched to get around anywhere and remain undetected.
  23. I tend to play multiple games as not all of my friends enjoy the same ones as much as others. Still on the fence about the Division 2 though. ....just don't like the RPG damage mechanics in my shooters and the Division was very spongy. GRW was much more to my liking in that respect although they blew it with Ghost War IMO. For me, I'm waiting for Insurgency Sandstorm to get my tactical shooter fix. Apparently TTK was one of the things devs said they wanted to address in TD2 so I guess I'll wait and see how that pans out. Also, if my friends are getting it, that will probably influence me to get it as well.
