We Causin Panic Member Capacity Reached
Kean_1 replied to Bluspartan27 Gaming's topic in Red Dead Online
Fyi..... This is not an official R* site. Unless you're talking about the club / posse tool that is available here (https://www.rdr2.org/forums/clubs/) they have no control over what you're talking about. Having said that, have you thought about creating a PSN Community and getting your folks to join that? Personally, I find that to be much more convenient as you can view who's playing the game, send messages, join others games, etc. I guess I'm just old but I have no idea what a "tangent" posse would be. -
.....until someone finds a way around it and causes the defender to become the offender. The Division had something similar where an player would be labeled a rogue if they shot another player. .....until griefers realize they could goad victims into shooting them first and then wipe them out. It happened to me when someone came at me with guns blazing. I shot back and then was promptly killed. It wasn't until after I realized his first shots never contacted me. He purposely missed so that I would be the one who would be labeled the offender as I tried to defend myself. Griefers are gonna grief. I believe they need to do more to encourage and incentivise cooperative gameplay. They also need to introduce (as I believe they will) private / friend session options like we have in GTAO for those of us who prefer not to play in a sandbox with randoms. Personally, I like the idea of much more limited player tracking (think close proximity, LOS, etc.). This would not only make it harder for trolls but would also make player interaction much more organic IMO. Unfortunately, R* uses the same formula for missions where players are encouraged to rob and kill other players to interrupt their progress. .....it's a downward spiral as people become frustrated and seek revenge on those other players, etc. The problem with public session in R* games in my mind is that they tend to encourage conflict rather than rewarding cooperative gameplay IMO.
-
....yeah, the "noob" and "dumb normie" remarks are belittling. It's not fooling anyone and when he gets the reaction one would expect when someone is being insulting to others opinions, he pulls the victim card. One more to add to my growing list of ignored users. Fact is, the current state of RDO is in no way reflective of all elements that will be in the final product. I tend to take a wait and see approach but there have already been indications in the code that we will have similar session options like we do in GTAVO. If so, it makes sense that R* does not want to implement them at this point in the beta to stress test the servers and make it less complicated when dealing with issues. .....keeping everyone in one pot. My guess is that when they feel the game is stable in its current form, they will gradually begin to introduce more options for players like (possibly) private / friends only sessions.
-
I think R* added that blurb in their announcement to cover the butt in the event that they due have to wipe the slate clean before final release. I wager it's all dependent on just how significant the changes are that will need to be made. So far, it's looking pretty decent IMO with the exception of a few expected bugs. I honestly believe that they will do what they can to help avoid a reset of everyone's progress. There is no benefit for them to anger their player base. .....I'm going to keep soldiering on for now and hope for the best although I doubt I'll be too broken up if they do reset (depending on the reason). If you end up giving it a go, look me up if you need someone to tag along. Right now I'm just trying to find out how some of the online mechanics work and making a few bucks.

It's ok IMO but still missing elements, modes as you might expect in a beta if this scale. I suspect trolls will become more of an issue especially for solo players. The only thing that saved me last night was riding with two other friends. We got jumped within minutes of our first time in the free roam world but luckily we were able to kill them. ......I don't think they suspected that we were together. I'm hoping that they will offer friends-only / private sessions like they did in GTAO. If the October leaks regarding the code were any indication, there will be session options like this in the future. As this staggered release continues, just be aware of randoms in game. .....and team up with friends when possible
-
Yeah, that seems to indicate that there may not be hair growth available but again, this is a beta and they haven't implemented everything they have planned yet. .....including other modes like private sessions, etc. btw. It sunlikely the game will remain in it's current state without some options for team players like they had in GTAO. Personally, I would suggest folks submit their suggestions to R* in the link several of us have provided in these threads.
-
I'm enjoying it. Had two players try to jump us but I don't think they realized all three of us were together. ......we decimated them. Other than that, most others left us alone.

Report it to R*. This is a fan forum and not an official R* / RDR2 website. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback

To be honest, playing with the settings in campaign mode will likely provide you with a better understanding of exactly what the sensitivity settings do in this game than what we can describe. I used random game to get an idea myself.

I'd encourage you to use the posse resource RDR2.org has provided its members. Feel free to join one or create your own: https://www.rdr2.org/forums/clubs/

Here is one for PS4 players: You're also welcome to join my PSN community "Red Dead Redemption 2 - TeamUp" and send me a friend request if you want to. I created these groups as a resource members to find others to team up with. ....who are easy going, willing to help each other, etc.
-
Yeah, no worries. I just deleted him. I was only passed the tutorial anyhow. .....not really invested in him.
-
Awesome. Thanks Bonzai.
-
Aw crap man..... I didn't know that was available. How do you redo your character? Any way to delete it and start over. ......I don't mind starting all over again.

PLEASE add -option- to remove ugly and unreal off-hand holster
Kean_1 replied to Nobon's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
That's not the holster. .....it's the animation. If anything, the whole idea of "dual-wielding" is unrealistic in itself, not the inclusion of a cross draw holster oriented for the players strong hand. Ever fire and reload an SAA or similar? I own a Blackhawk and I'll tell ya, I wouldn't want to reload that thing in a gunfight. I'd much rather draw a second. It's bad enough with a speed reloader in a modern 629 revolver under pressure. Other than that, I agree that there should be more options in gun belts, holsters and styles to even include shoulder rigs. ....and btw, the whole idea of being able to draw with your left hand from a right hand cross draw holster may not be ideal but is certainly not "unrealistic". I don't care for the dual-wielding action but I have no problem with idea of being able to draw with the opposite hand from this style of holster. -
PLEASE add -option- to remove ugly and unreal off-hand holster
Kean_1 replied to Nobon's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I get the idea of wanting the option to remove the crossdraw holster but what do you feel is unrealistic about it? -
Another silly question..... How do we join friends in a session? I saw an option that was for matchmaking that you can set if you prefer to be matched with friends. .....is it that simple?
-
Well, I just logged on to set up my character and get through some of the tutorial in online mode. The first mission where you steal horses forced me into a matchmaking session although the mission stated that it was 1-4 players. First, no one is on mic. Second, one of the players takes my horse so then I have to run to his horse so I can catch up to everyone who has no left me in the dust. I arrive at location and it's every man for himself. Two of the players grab horses and run off. I stay behind to help cover the third player who was having a rough go of it. Anyhow, he finally gets on a horse but then passes me up and I'm left in the rear. We get pounced on by pursuers and then I'm left alone trying to fight them off. Luckily, the guy I stayed behind for decided to help me out so we continued to cover each other as we fought our way to the final destination. This is exactly why I hate playing with randoms and prefer sessions with just friends or by myself. If your random coop partners treat you like this in RDO, how can anyone think that a free-for-all mode like the current RDO PvP design would not turn into a GTAO troll-fest? Seems to me a lot of the bad habits in GTAO are finding their way into RDO. ......but as long as R* implements the session options like I think the will, I'll be happy.
-
Something along those lines would be nice. Perhaps even requiring LOS on a target along with proximity to simulate what would be within visual sight. I wouldn't mind a PvP mode if that were the case.
-
Yep, just did. I submitted a separate request for a hardcore mode to disable AA and limit the radar (or just disable the blips entirely).
-
This idea that somehow RDO PvP is going to have some sort of organic feel to the PvP is a pipe dream IMO. If RDO were to remain as is, it would still turn into a toxic cesspool of players with a shoot first attitude. Activities would constantly be interrupted by griefers, trolls, etc. This idea that everyone would be too busy trying to make a living in PvP because there are no friend/solo modes is rubbish IMO. GTAO didn't allow players to own most of the profitable businesses without being in a PvP session so throw that argument out the window. The fact is that trolls and griefers will always exist and the current format of RDO will not deter them. Either way, I don't see a problem with R* introducing a solo or "friends only" option for sessions like they had in GTAO. If they want to encourage people to perform activities in PvP mode, then provide bigger payouts for the activities in those sessions. The only way I would be interested in PvP for the long haul is if they got rid of the silly radar tracking (make it proximity based) and did more to encourage cooperative gameplay. In the end, I am confident that alternative modes will be introduced at some point since they were already in GTAO. Also, the leak back in October from R* Intel seemed to confirm that private and "seamless PvE" sessions would also be available at some point when they dug through the code. As the BETA progresses, I am sure more news of this will emerge. In the meantime, I will submit my suggestions and encourage others to do the same. ......regardless of what those may be. Make your voices heard.
-
I encourage you folks to submit your requests to R*. I too hope that we get more co-op / friends options in the near future at least like we have in GTAO. However, I also understand that this is a BETA and I can understand why they may have chosen to go with a PvP-only mode for now while they stress test the servers, etc. I have hope that these other modes will arrive at least by final release since GTAO included them. While PvP is more popular, I think they can recognize that some prefer to just play with friends sometimes or themselves. Personally, I'm going to submit my suggestions and give it some time to see where R* goes with RDO. I'll only play RDO with friends until then and may even stop at some point (if I find it too toxic) and go on to something else while the game is being worked on. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback

I get what you're saying and as I mentioned, I might actually prefer a mode like that a well. However, for me, I can live with an adjustable level of auto aim but what I can't live without (for too long) is a constant PvP / adversarial mode. Personally, I think we will get the "solo" and "friends-only" sessions before no auto aim but then again, the former are things that were already in GTAO. I don't know how many are clamoring for AA-off sessions but I wish you luck. Get as many supporters as you can to provide the suggestion on R*s official site. ......I'll even do the same while I'm also submitting my suggestion for my co-op / non-PvP options.
-
It's now official. Rockstar Support Tweeted 5 minutes ago..... If you're an XB player and it still doesn't work, I would strongly suggest letting R* know through their support page: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback

For those going into this expecting a finished product, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Issues such as these are to be expected since it's a beta. If you are having issues and truly want to help make the game better for yourself and others, please report any problems you encounter to R*. This is especially important during this beta phase.
