  1. Yeah, they've been getting pretty busy.
  2. Maybe an Ubisoft forum? I'm not on too many game sites.
  3. Make sure to submit your feedback to R* at the link some of us have provided in these threads. This forum is fan forum (not an official one).
  4. Back in October dataminers had already revealed that RDR2 would include private sessions and "seamless PvE" (whatever the latter means). Their other leask proved to be true so it seems these will likely be as well. ....and given GTAVO has invite only sessions, I have confidence RDO will too.
  5. You remember which one? I use it in a few. Makes me smile too.
  6. Sure it wasn't dynamite? I used it against a troll last night.
  7. Well, I'm not going to try to sell you on it but open betas are nothing new in the industry and I for one applaud devs who use the public to help improve their games. Open betas also allow them to discover issues that may not have been apparent when testing in-house or in a limited scope. R* is looking for direction from their fans and this is an opportunity for people like you to provide your feedback to effect change. They want their fans to have a say in how RDO is developed. R* has made it very clear that RDO was a beta. It's still in development and they are actively seeking feedback from their player base. While I don't particularly care for the current gameplay in RDO I do also realize that it's in a raw state. I know that there are new modes, session types, improvements, etc. to come before final release (and beyond). Seems to me you already made up your mind though so good luck.
  8. Yeah, I wasn't suggesting your were or even should. .....just mentioning that I might until improvements are made. It's just the first week so I don't expect anything for another 2 or so.
  9. RDO is currently as toxic as it ever has been since launch (only a few days ago mind you) and I can only see it getting worse until R* releases an update addressing the issue. I hate to say it but I may have to put the game aside until they do. I have friends who weren't able to play until this weekend and are really disappointed by what they encountered. The trouble is, when they put a game aside, they don't always come back to revisit it even if they do understand it's still a work in progress.
  10. I didn't know a PSN block would affect matchmaking in a game like this. I'm going to try that because the trolling has gone from bad to absolutely unbearable for me at this point. IMO, they need to implement a similar model as GTAVO with passive options, invite only sessions, etc. I'm confident they will given some of the code data miners had discovered back in October that already indicated a direction toward this. I agree with many of your points. Multiplayer encompasses PvP and PvE (and everything in between) where real people are able to play the game together. .....either cooperatively, as adversaries and/or a mix of both. There are plenty of games out there that include coop MP gameplay in them in some form or another that include NPCs as adversaries. .....GRW, Destiny, Far Cry, the Division just to name a couple of the top of my head. This is ALL considered online multiplayer. Even R* markets RDO as a game that supports all of these types of playstyles including solo (which at this point is essentially a death sentence). R* chose to incorporate all of these playstyles together in a public session and that needs to be balanced in order for them all to survive. .....which I'm sure it will whether through passive options, private sessions, both or other types of solutions. RDO right now is more of a deathmatch than anything else.
  11. You do realize RDO is currently in beta, right? If you really want to help effect change, I suggest reporting it to R* as they have been asking their customers to do during this beta period. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=addb2b0b
  12. No idea but a quick Google search gave this approximation on some popular games: Just remember that usage can vary and depend on a number of factors including the # of players in a session, whether you're hosting on a peer to peer connection, etc. THe big data users are streaming services (Netflix, YouTube, music, etc.). Plan for the worst and hope for the best. Sounds like you're capped on how much you use a month? If you have a way to tell what your usage is in a given period of time, play a session or two and see how much you use. I honestly don't know how that whole limited data model works as I have always just paid a flat fee and never needed or even cared to know how much I use. Good luck.
  13. Same happens to me. It was much worse last night.
  14. @Volt @Willard I have the same headset and FYI, the chat volume does also work with PSN party chat. .....not just in game chat. Great headset except for the weak, foldable joints which break. The newest version did away with them I believe.
  15. Tonight turned out to be a hot glitchy mess. Missions wouldn't show up half the time, tons of lag, etc. .....and the trolling was of epic proportions. Absolutely horrible. I may have to shelve this game for a while.
  16. Yeah, had this happen several times. Even when we were being cool with them and they were clearly outnumbered. One guy pissed me off so bad I shot and killed his horse as well. ......but then the vicious cycle continues and the respawn, come after you again, etc., etc., etc. Boring as hell. ....and the crap talking is absolutely infantile. It would be funny if it weren't so sad. Trolling in its purest form. Trying to provoke people.
  17. Yeah, good point and I agree. There definitely needs to be ways to mitigate the issue of exploits like that. What I meant by "fantasy" is the idea that everyone can enjoy the multiplayer experience in this type of environment. .....in its current state. The marketing by R* and even some of what a couple individuals have said in these forums is a pipe dream IMO. It's fast becoming a deathmatch instead. ....and forget about trying to "explore alone". IMO, it's a fantasy unless they do something to drastically diminish the advantage trolls have in the game. .....and I know there are a lot of things missing in RDO at the moment that they have already planned to add later and likely left out on purpose at launch for the sake of simplicity while they make sure the game is stable. I just hope the coming changes and additions including things that support / encourage more cooperative gameplay and discourage griefing.
  18. If I were happy with just playing the story mode, I wouldn't be posting here in the online subforum. ....so yeah, I'd say in answer to your question that most everyone else here is interested in RDO to some extent.
  19. Yeah, the whole idea of having people create a separate player for PvP sessions doesn't fly with me in this game. The issue is that R* chose to incorporate all of the MP elements together in a public, free for all environment. In GTAVO, you have to join a public session in order to play missions, buy and run businesses, take advantage of money making opportunities, etc. ....and right now, RDO is the same. The idea that players can feel free to explore and engage in cooperative activities, missions, etc. while being subjected to random, persistent trolling is a fantasy. I like the idea of removing player tracking and I agree it would help to an extent with the trolling. I've even been an advocate of it. .....but the more I've thought about it and been exposed to these RDO trolls, I'm beginning to think that it could also make it worse as unsuspecting players can be more easily ambushed as trolls cap mission objectives, towns and stores, post offices, etc. where players need to go to acquire items and progress through the game. They can follow people who they hear hunting and snipe them from cover, etc., etc. Perhaps there is a happy middle ground that is proximity based but then again, fast movers would be undetectable until the very last minute and so on. I'm beginning to think a passive mode and more severe consequences for random killing may be a better solution in public sessions. Maybe if towns and mission points were safe zones as well? I guess the point is that they are really going to need to do something to take the advantage away from these trolls. If R* would make everything available in invite-only, I'd be happy enough at that point. .....but if not, then something needs to be done with the public session.
  20. Thanks. I already knew about the mute option and had to use it on several players. We also reported about 4 trolls who were using racial slurs and abusive language. Anyone who thinks this kind of online experience is ok needs to have the head examined. It got to the point that our team of 4 went to PSN party chat. This is textbook trolling. I know new session options are likely on the horizon but I hope they implement them sooner than later because if it takes too long there will only be this toxic element left playing in this game. At this point, I am even advocating for passive modes simply so players can navigate past the constant, hostile actions of these griefers. Currently, the best bet is to travel in packs and avoid others when possible which is hard when they cap mission points, etc. We still had a lot of fun but also several frustrating moments. When you fight back, they simply respawn again and continue their assault. .....there's no end unless you run away.
  21. It's Mad Max in the 1890's. This public only session is essentially a lopsided deathmatch with these trolling "kill squads" having the advantage. Not what I call a fun MP experience at all.
  22. I've encountered a few bugs but it runs good. .....trolling on the other reached epic proportions last night for me. Engaging them only makes it worse as they simply respawn in and continue their attack. We spent more time defending ourselves and running away from toxic players than actually engaging in any of the activities.
  23. I was enjoying it two nights ago when the trolling wasn't so bad but last night was horrible and I can only see it getting worse. The verbal crap talking was just as bad.
  24. .....as you dismiss others and imply their feedback is "usually childish". Yeah, ok. HInt.... Don't insult someone and then ask them to do you the courtesy of listening to what you have to say. This is great advice. I would encourage others to share their experiences with R* and their suggestions. Unlike certain individuals in these forums, R* is looking for your feedback both good and bad and that's what matters. The issue is that public sessions provide trolls with a target rich environment. .....and yeah, they are "trolls" when there is no other benefit to randomly killing other players except for the simple pleasure (in their eyes) of causing grief. Sure, this is multiplayer but it is also supposed to be a place where folks can play cooperatively while they explore the game world, engage in missions and other activities. The crux of the problem lies in the fact that trolls can ruin all other aspects of game play in the RDR world. Even the "solo experience" R* promotes is a pipe dream in RDO right now as those players are made easy targets by these kill squads that camp mission sites, towns, seek out players using the radar tracking, etc. I am pretty confident that at some point R* will introduce private / invite only session options and perhaps even passive modes for public lobbies. In the meantime, I would encourage you all to provide your feedback here: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=addb2b0b
