  1. I voted neither, even though I’d buy either. I’d much rather see smaller add on stories, maybe from the other gang members perspective...
  2. Lol. I’ve only encountered one whole posse that came after me... I literally stood in the middle of a st. Denis green space with my LeMats out and gunned them down as they ran at me until they started asking for a truce. (Not that I’m good, but they just sucked that much). usually I get trouble with the lone player.
  3. Well, it never occurred to me to stand there for an unreasonable amount of time to see if they eventually kick in lol.
  4. I’ll look at my crashes tomorrow morning... I to recently sent an upset reply to a higher tier support stating we should be compensated in gold and cash for the time we wasted trying to play the game...
  5. I don’t recall his name, but the guy near lake don Julio... I accepted A mission, nothing happened. I talked to him again and he told me how well I did on that that last mission and gave me another. I accepted again and got blue screen of death. On the third try I finally got a mission. i was able to do other missions with no issues, so something might still be going on.
  6. And, as I wrote this, a player shot me in the back for no reason... we fought, he initiated a showdown which I accepted, and we fought some more. Showdown ended. I asked, are you good? No reaction, so I road away. I was shot in the back of the head again... so again I killed him a couple times, then he hid in a showdown icon... seriously.. if you are going to start a fight, grow a pair of balls and fight...
  7. I personally believe if you are going to start a fight, you should stay to finish it. That includes myself if I accidentally strangle or shoot another player because the buttons are a little cumbersome (not that I won’t fight back if you come at me, but I won’t press it further after I back off and announce my oops on the mic I always have on). Now if you don’t want to be relentlessly harassed by a player willing to fight back, then don’t start trouble... personally, I’ll annoy you even if I suck too much to get the upper hand on the kill count. In my eyes, it keeps you from pissing off someone else for a while at the least.
  8. I think it all comes down to what they determine the cause to be and how recoverable the data is on their end. I do hope you get your character back. I know I’d be a little ticked at loosing everything, even if it was accidentally my fault.
  9. No one is saying you deliberately deleted your character... we’re just speculating on what may have caused it while we wait to hear.
  10. If that we’re the case, I’d imagine they’d send some kind of message along with that... however, when looking at the character menu, there is the push and hold square (PS4) to delete character button. Your not paying attention I can see doing that while trying to back out back to free roam.
  11. I submitted one today and was answered in minutes... look at the link they emailed you and give them a poke.
  12. I apologize for this. This is one of the bugs the team is aware of and investigating as we speak. Again thank you so much for helping Rockstar make Red Dead Redemption 2 even better We all hope it will up and running again very soon This is what Claire E. just sent me.
  13. Yeah... I think that is the whole reason that weird guy that changes your honour exists. But it’s much more fun to lower it the hard way lol
  14. Well, my thought process was along the lines of finishing a mission in the quickest time despite opposition indicates a level of skill worth a little extra reward. But I do see where you’re coming from. I’d personally be happy if I didn’t have to waste time (upwards of ten minutes in some missions) doing absolutely nothing just outside the yellow cloud.
  15. I can’t even begin to guess how this happened. If we’re you, I’d be contacting Rockstar. They Might be able to restore you.
  16. Sure, that would still make more sense than having to wait. I was just thinking if they’re going to implement some kind of variation it makes more sense to penalize taking longer than doing things too fast. If the concern is certain missions are to easily completed and they’re worried about people spamming them, it could be taken care of in other ways, like maybe a cool down.
  17. Personally I would not be happy with a rollback. Especially considering I’ve spent some gold on some things. I also don’t think waiting out a timer is a glitch in the same sense as duplicating carcasses. As for how the mission timers work, I’ve always thought it was backwards. It should pay out less the longer it takes you, and perhaps depending on the mission how much damage the canoe/rowboat/wagon or whatever took during your efforts.
  18. I like the idea of being able to enjoy a cigar and fine brandy from my inventory just like I would a bottle of whiskey from the bar or a beer from my camp. The one problem I see with this is from a combat point of view... though if you have the effects take place instantly , much like how the whiskey effects hit you before the first sip, you could always drop it after and go back to fighting. as for the bottle smash, I like the idea. Or chairs or lumber... anything else that could make a one or two time use improvised weapon. It would make brawls more fun. Though I already have a bad habit of accidentally strangling people. I imagine myself walking down the street and accidentally picking something up and busting it over some poor guys head for no reason...
  19. Yeah, I know the attitude you’re talking about. Only I don’t see them as following the rules of the game so much. I see it more of an attitude that if it’s not specifically prohibited it’s allowed. These are the guys who can’t win at monopoly by playing properly, so the steal your money when you’re not looking, because well, there’s no rule specifically saying they can’t... It doesn’t make them good at the game. It just makes others want to stop playing with them... The solution isn’t to put a bunch of rules in the rule book and turn it into a novel trying to cover every contingency that they might come up with. The solution is to stop playing monopoly with that guy. Same with video games. The only way people who grief like this will stop is if they get banned from playing the game. Unfortunately it’s just a lot harder to keep them off the servers than it is to just stop inviting them to your game night. Even if these guys get banned, they’ll just whip up another account and be back.
  20. I’m not sure... but maybe if you look at your new horse menu you’ll see that under the missions option you have scrawny nag set.
  21. Well, I’ll admit near when the gold first came out I got the one time 25 bar deal. But I’ve used gold on my leMats, Evans and a few other ‘got to try them’ items as they came out and still have my stock pile. That being said, I don’t spend a lot on cloths horses and other things. And I haven’t gotten any cosmetic weapon enhancements yet. So it tends to go along way and replenish itself between purchases.
  22. I use as much gold as I can for stuff like that. Rockstar seems to hand out enough in freebies I always have a few bars on hand when something comes up.
  23. All is good. You have your point of view, I have mine, others have theirs. We all type them out and we all make contributions to the thread, wether you think so or not or like it or not. as for the upcoming paths, I to am eager to see how they shape up. I can honestly get behind the idea of getting bounties payable to another player/posse, or spending a day hunting down a bounty... I do hope however they set it up incorporates both cooperative and adversarial interactions with other players. Then we can be at each other’s throats in a way that makes sense.
  24. My point was, I like what Rockstar is trying to do, even if it’s not perfect. Trying to implement measures to reduce the type of behaviour I was describing while still leaving room for the element of risk. What I didn’t do was accuse you or anyone else in particular of any behaviour whatsoever (like you seem to be doing to me). I gave a broad description of a type of play that seems to be recurring problem in the game (especially early on). I don’t see the point at all in the random killing. What’s the motive for shooting a guy in the back of the head while he’s stuck in a fishing animation? It’s not even robbery since you can’t loot anything and you can’t call it a challenge since the guy has no ability to fight back or likely to even be aware your there without his mini map up. What outlaw in all of history (even Hollywood history) set up on a rooftop murdering random people that walked into a store all day? And all without a thing to gain for it? I can see if you were laying an ambush for someone in particular, maybe a rival gang member, or a trap for a dead or alive bounty target. This game has the potential to be so much more than just a western shooter and it even has game modes built in to accommodate the needs of those who feel like an hour or two of pure combat. RDR has the potential to grow into a full fledged western RPG, with reasons to be hunting players Down, or get hunted down by others, ways and methods to raid each other’s camps. Perhaps our persistent posse system can grow into something where rivalries get tracked and the passive/agressive/bounty systems don’t apply when you come across a rival posse member. Maybe the bounty system can grow into something that rewards another player who successfully captures another player with a bounty and successfully gets them to the sheriffs office in one of those cage wagons, all while fighting off the targets posse and rival bounty hunters... I just want a fleshed our world where there are reasons and motives as well as risks and rewards for the PVP elements. If I get murdered, I want there to be a reason for it. I want a meaningful incentive to make me think about hunting someone else down. As much fun as an open world fight can be, I don’t want it to become a 24/7 purposeless death match all over the map. I don’t want this to become GTA Old West. Maybe my vision for what this game could be is just different than yours.
  25. Yeah, I’m really got to disagree. To me it’s not fun to be spawn killed by a guy with 100 levels on me making it it impossible to accomplish anything. I don’t ‘feel the win’ when I make it to the butcher without getting shot in the middle of town for no reason, I feel the ‘thank god there are no di*ks around to screw with my very limited gaming time today’. You want an endless gunfight, and that’s ok. That’s why they have showdown modes, where you can actually be challenged by people focusing on killing you and nothing else, instead of the challenge of sniping someone in the back of the head who doesn’t see it coming and isn’t expecting it... the encounter I gave above is my idea of the acceptable risk from PVP in the free roam world. An outlaw with a motive trying to take what he wants, not a psychotic dickhead taking cheap shots.
