  1. I’d imagine it’s a lot easier to change up the piano playlist than it is to program a whole parade, drunken crowds partying and topless women (and a fair share of overweight topless men giving them a run for their money in the bust department) in masks on every balcony...
  2. I just stomp the animals before skinning them. It degrades pelt quality, but I’ve usua already done that after I gun the rest of the herd down like a maniac after head shooting the best animal. I’d likely do this even if the mercy kill option from the story was available... it’s just one more animation to get stuck in helplessly while griefers can take the time to line up a perfect head shot from the next hilltop over. I should clarify.. I’m all for including more of these little things from single player. I didn’t mean to sound like I’m against it. But I’d prefer to have the option of giving the living critters a good stomp to save on time stuck in animation.
  3. I’ll likely buy it just to have... I was going to do it today since I had the day off, but a buddy of mine gifted me a brand new copy of GTA V with that Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack thing. I started loading it up today, figuring I might as well see all new new stuff in online since I haven’t played the game since PS3... it’s still downloading updates... I kind of wish I just left it for another time...
  4. Yeah. I’d imagine some options will be built in for the future
  5. A little of everything... except griefing. I’m all for a good gunfight when there is a reason or purpose to it. I can’t stand the murderhobo mentality that seems to be rampant in the west though...
  6. I think they have enough ability to track what you are doing that they can see you suddenly sold 500 cougars that you didn’t shoot... I’m sure they can likely follow your money and spending trail also... the time period may be one of paper bills and coins, but it’s a computer game that leaves a purchase and deposit trail every bit as good as your checking and visa account statements. I doubt they’ll have to go beyond cleaning up the accounts of those that actually glitched.
  7. Or... just don’t by games... comparing games of yesteryear, most of which could be contained on a couple floppy disks, or later on a CD or two, and could be played through in a single sitting if you were bored and sat up for a few hours one night, to the most recent games that would take a roomful of PCs like my first one just to store the data and be played for hundreds of hours without seeing all the content... And considering the games of yesteryear cost about the same or possibly even more considering the value of 20th century money to our 21st century money... You could argue we are getting much more gaming value for our bucks in the modern era. And those old games were every bit as flawed and bugged and full of errors upon release. Yeah, I’ll admit gaming companies want to make as much money as possible off their products, and online is the current method of doing so. Every company wants to make money. People out there fork over mountains of cash totaling more than the average guy will earn in their whole life time and they expect a return on that investment that outweighs the risk they take investing. You wanna play, you gotta pay. Or perhaps start some non profit gaming charity service or something... on a side note, people complained back in the day as well... Only instead of the instant gratification of posting a gripe on reddit, you had to actually write a letter to Nintendo Power Magazine or some other niche publication and wait for the next few issues to see if they published it 😂
  8. I was kind of joking lol
  9. Add some weight and here is what I picture you being...
  10. ...I wish I didn’t waste my hard earn money on a special spinner...
  11. You know... that wouldn’t be a bad idea... though I think Rockstar has a little more on the plate at the moment than throwing a party... I can already picture the Mardi Gras Massacre...
  12. I honestly haven’t noticed much difference. Then again, I tend to shoot every critter in sight, including entire herds of deer and antelope. I don’t worry as much about quality, I’d much rather have a huge stack of poor pelts and satchels maxes out with meat and tusks and antlers etc... with as many small whole birds as I can get my sights on to break down later at the butcher... To me at least, completely devastating the local ecosystem seems the most profitable way to go about things.
  13. All anyone can do is just wait and see how things shape up. It just seems no one has any patience and takes everything that comes out as some kind of personal slight. I like to think that it’ll eventually shape up to be a decent game, it already is if you ask me, though it does need tweaking. As for content, it’ll come and with every new thing that comes along there will be bloggers, youtubers and message board complainers ranting on all about how each thing ranges from being a worthless upgrade to a game ruining disaster.
  14. Yeah, it does seem pretty easy for the most part to wait out the clock when you are the target. Though once one of the assassins managed to box me in and corner me... I had no choice left but to fight my way through him... I made it, only to have another one round the corner with seconds left on the clock... I dove behind cover, trading pop shots with my attacker.... clock ticks down to zero just as that lucky headshot lands on me... a tense moment as I respawned, than the message pops up success... barely. i stand by this being a fun aspect of the game, though I can see why it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Oh well, either way you can’t really call it griefing.
  15. Just so people can see side by side
  16. In this case, I can’t call being assassinated griefing. It might be a part of the game you don’t like, but it is a part of the game that gives players a legitimate reason to be coming for you. I think if it really bothers you that much, all you can really do is stand there and let someone get the quick easy kill, or log off/jump servers. Though that does seem pretty cheap to me. Arguably even disruptive to those who went out of their way to do an in game mission only to have it disappeare on them lol.
  17. That’s the thing... I don’t imagine anyone with an actual stake in the game (financially) is expecting it to take off and outpace another, already established game. They’re betting on the long term success and likely knew it wouldn’t be raking in piles of cash while it’s in the beta phase, or likely even or the first little while after the full release. It seems to be the bloggers and the YouTubers spreading all the doom and gloom. But they need their click bait to keep views on their channels up, or they might have to get real jobs and stop playing video games all day every day lol.
  18. I’ve been the target a few time now (I’m not sure why. I keep my honour way up. Perhaps outlaws just don’t like me). As much as I hate getting killed randomly for no reason, I kind of like the thrill of being the random target. Mostly, I can accept it because the other players have an actual reason to target me. second, as I run solo 99% of the time, it’s actually quite fun to have others chase me across the map against the timed and try to get me while I move from point to point, taking kills as I see the opportunity in an effort to stay one step ahead of them. lastly, I know it’s coming and am prepared for it. I know that suddenly every player within sniper rifle range is likely going to try to kill me and I’m in full survival mode (as opposed to walking into a quiet town only to have the guy sitting idle in the barbershop step out and headshot me from behind seconds after I mossy on by towards the butcher). you want to call me a coward for my run and cover/cheap shot strategy when I’m fleeing an assassination attempt while running solo, well, too bad. I’ve survived more than I haven’t. I’m not going to sit still and give an easy kill to a hord of would be assassins. If you don’t want to chase me, oh well. I’ll take the easy win. But most time at least a few chase me. All that being said, I have yet to have anyone grief me after it was over.
  19. How about like good old D&D, when your character dies mid campaign and rather than making everyone start over from scratch, or die in another session or two when the severely crippled party finally dies while one by one people become heckling, beer swilling spectators, a brand new character of the exact same level magically shows up out of nowhere... This would work by saving your actual progress, but letting you destroy your existing character and replace him with a new one. Perhaps at a cost of 10 gold bars or some such.
  20. I wonder if the day will come, we’ll look back and think ‘RDR was best in the beta days. No flying unicorns shitting dynamite, no over powered war wagons with twin machine guns, or crips following you around with a fully stocked ammo wagon...’
  21. I always skinned my animals anyway (can get way more bits and pieces back to the butcher than whole animals)... all that really changed is the price of the picked over carcasses as far as I know... and your car price analogy is flawed...in the case of animal products, the more it’s pieced up the more complete your final product is... I mean what would you pay more (per pound) for? Nice cuts of steak and prime rib, or a dead cow? also, a a part time trapper, I can make over $80 for a single coyote pelt in good shape, properly skinned and stretched, when companies like Canada Goose buy it for their parkas. If I sell the whole coyote to a skinner, I’ll be lucky to get $10-$15... I should add, when I skin my coyote, I have all sorts of teeth and bones and meat I can also make small crafts with to sell, or sell to Natives who make all sorts of interesting things, baits and lures to keep my little operation running with little overhead...
  22. Yeah. I did have one dud post update... but it sounds more like a bug than a deliberate nerfing
  23. Today I simply rode at a wall/slow trot from the Indian reserve to the st denis butcher killing critters along the way... I made $60. Doesn’t seem like much of a nerf to me.
  24. When Was this era? I’ve played literally hundreds of games dating back to old Atari... they had glitches and bugs and imbalance and all sorts of problems too... the only difference now is things are more easily patched and fixed lol
  25. I agree... though it hasn’t really ‘launched’ yet if it’s still in Beta. I don’t recall 100%, but I’m not sure if GTA had different lobby options for the first year or so either... maybe freeaim will never be a thing. Personally I find trying to be accurate trying to point a little white dot around in third person view next to impossible, though I’m getting to an age where my eyes ain’t as good and my thumbs don’t have a lifetime of muscle memory built up from playing with gaming Controllers from birth... anyway, you need to have some god damn faith... there’s a plan!
