I agree with ya 100% I too stil have the single player challenges to do, ugg not looking forward to those, some of them are very difficult. What ive been doing is playing GTAV, so I can get the 54 cards for rdr2 and the bounty missions to get the ancient tomahawk. I havent done either yet as I got into setting it all up, and now I go in, make a couple million in the casino then supply and staff my businesses then I go to RDR2 and do my daily challenges and clear any hideouts or whatever I run into. I think you are all set now, I have half the gold you have and I feel like it is enough. I think I am up to 170 bars, and 8800$ I was just thinking earlier about whether I think it will drop tomorrow and I just dont, I feel like we will get the character custom thing first then we will get the update, but who knows at this point.

Well I was thinking a week from Tuesday would be the update, but the character customization thing I think is separate from the actual summer update, which is why I think they will drop that first, we will have to wait and see, but that is my feeling on it. I just think, if it isnt ready tomorrow, then instead of nothing, we will get the character customization, that will appeal to a lot of people who have been wanting to do that, and keep everyone busy for one more week. Only time will tell.

So today I had a thought. I have a weird feeling that we will get the character customization option a week before the summer update. I just have a feeling. I wonder if tomorrow we get the ability to re-do our character then the following week or two we get the actual update. Just a thought, but I do think it will happen, no point in putting everything in one update, they can break it up a little and still make everyone happy. We will see, but my call is we get the customization option before the update.

lol funny I had two train ones, one a guy jumped on with me and when I was done I bailed, it was fine, the other a guy jumped on, rode with me for a long lng wway then all at once threw me off, when I got back on he shot me, lol, but I was good with the challenge so... I didnt care. The cougars are easy to spawn, the one out past Strawberry spawns everytime, the panther near Shady belle too, sometimes you have to leave and go back or even jump servers but it does spawn and then boom, gold bar, so I dunno man. If you struggle with them, try the ones near Tumbleweed, or the one north of strawberry I find the most common to spawn, the shady bell panther always spawns, sometimes others have just been there so you might have to jump out to free roam again and have it spawn you in a new session but they do alwasy spawn in that same spot, so they are pretty predictable. Today was kill 5 animals with a knife, I hate that you cant use throwing knives, it is a pain in the butt to lasso and knife kill but I got 1 deer, 2 boar and one pronghorn. took forever though, but while doing it, I hit to campsite ambushes and 2 hideouts, got a treasure map out of it so all in all well worth it for me today. Im up to 171 gold I hate the pvp ones too, I wont do them, or the herb picking contest or races or etc.. I dont do any of those. Other than pvp I try to do them all, so far only the Prairie chickens elude me, but I think next time I will get them. Sometimes roosters are tough or even chickens sometimes, but you get used to the 3 or 4 places they are and how to get them, I dunno I get frustrated then I think, hmm its a bar of gold!! lol so I try to figure it out. To each his own though no worries, I get how you feel.

Yes and No, the difference being two parts, a judicial system and non npc bounty hunters with a refined system, like the spoke about a new rope for bounty hunters, I do think this is the first step in doing just that, so you cant just wiggle or cut your way out if you are captured alive you are brought to justice, I want to see courts, sentences, jail, prison, exile and hangings. So yeah robbing banks would be fun, IF there were very serious consequences if caught and getting away is harder than simply outlasting a short search by npc's. Like your crimes should follow server to server day to day, you robbed a bank, if you were identified then your name is on a list and you are wanted until caught, period, you can jump servers but this follows you, and when caught the game keeps track of charges, so you can get a fine, or a 30 day sentence or be hanged, depending on how far you took it. Essentially the difference of people running amuck and killing everyone they encounter or trying to not gain such a reputation as a cold blooded killer so when you are caught you dont get hanged lets say, obviously a hanging would be like a death, BUT in this case you lose 50% of your money and gold if your crimes warrant it.

Yeah two days in a row a train challenge and both days I happened to stumble upon an empty train so win win. Today I actually for all 7 challenges for the 5th time, I know that because I got a reward for 5x when it happened. Today was great, 3 free roam challenges, I dont do them anymore but since it was paying a gold bar and potentially 3 extra I did it and it surely paid off. Got everything early except the train, the 3 challenges and the possums, but I did get them all done eventually and ended it with the 2nd possum, so god day for challenges today. I think today was the first time I got all 7 during this bonus, it was very good 10 or 11 gold all together plus a little gold from the 3 free roam challenges too, I am up to 150 or so gold bars.

LOL thats raw man. Did he revive you at least? I also noticed that the gold is 1 gold bar per challenge you complete, I thought because I was getting the multiplier that it wasnt going up for me, but the second day I did it I noticed the reward on screen, thats great!! potential to make 5 to 11 bars a day. Someone said if you do all 7 you get a 4 bar bonus? I dont know as I almost never do all 7. I do 3 to 5 sometimes 6 and once or twice 7. I am up to 157 gold now, I want to hit 200 before the update hits.

Its funny that yesterday we had both rescue someone and jump to your horse from 10 meters, I went to the bridge I mentioned above and it worked well from the middle of the bridge, got it on the third try, while I had my passenger that needed saving coincidentally I forgot about the rescue lady just north of St Denis and south of Van Horn, usually she is a trap but this time she really wanted a ride so that was unexpected and easy. Usually I go to Tumbleweed and get the lone guy near the tracks north of the town, but yesterday the one I mentioned was perfect. I did happy to find prairie chickens on my to Emerald ranch across the street in the grass, so I did get one but that wasnt a challenge, I was just glad to see another spot. Lastly the Vultures came to me after I wrote this, I forgot about Armadillo, one on the sign leading out of town to the north and then one at the hanging tree, so answered my own question. The Prairie chickens are the only ones I havent gotten before but next time it is a challenge I will def have a few spots to look now.

Yeah Im with ya on that, I was wrong the other day I didnt realize I was getting 1 gold bar per challenge, so I to do them everyday, I dont do much else, I bought a copy of GTA V so I could get the RDR2 bonuses you get from certain things in GTAV like the 54 cards, and doing the bounty missions with MAude, etc.. I havent gotten any of them done yet, but at least after I do my daily challenges I have something else to do and I dont linger in RDR2. Well, I totally understand the frustration but assuming things doesnt help either. They obviously need a lot of time to get these things right prior to release. When the Spring update was in the later part of Spring I realized then, these releases are going to come when they are comfortable with them, after seeing all the dupe glitches and money glitches etc. I bet a lot more consideration goes into the releases and delays things. I knew when they called it a summer update we would be waiting until September, I just didnt want that to be the case, but then again, this game was so awesome that I dont mind waiting, sure I wish we had it by now, but ya know what? If we already had it, we would be already looking for the next thing, and I know they have the pc release to do and who knows what else for RDR2 on the books, so I say just try to be patient, stock up on gold and cash as much as you can in between and be ready for it. I have around 145 bars of gold and 9k$ in cash and I dont feel like it is enough. I want to grab onto one of the jobs and develop it to a business, hopefully, we shall see.

Yeah the Maxim gun ones can be a pain, Ill admit, other than running a story mission its not easy, you can do a couple of hideouts and take control of one, but I usually dont get that one either. Well, chickens and roosters and Pelicans are easy, I know three spawns for chickens and roosters so I just go back and forth between them, the house that had smoke inhalation over by Emerald ranch, then of course Emerald ranch and also the little house village just behind Rhodes, by the pawn shop, they have a good chicken coupe, and finally Armadillo has a coup. Prairie chickens I am just not sure where they spawn, I think over by McFarlanes Ranch, but I havent gotten them during a challenge yet. The "Jump on your horse from 10 meters" I found was pretty simple, go to the little bridge that runs over the tracks just south of Van Horm, although I bet you could also do this just north east or Valentine, I actually did this on railroad bridge, if you follow the tracks out of Emerald ranch towards Butcher creek, at one point the tracks stop where they once werent connected, if you go past where the construction guys were and past the beaver spawn over there, you come to a train bridge, similar to the one up north of Annesberg, anyway that bridge I found to be a god height to park your horse under then run up and jump from, I did it once when it was a daily challenge and it worked. I was wrong the other day, with the new bonus for gold I am getting 1 gold bar per challenge so it is a great time to do as many as possible.

I hope they dont follow the GTA V model, not a big fan of heists in that game and can do without them in RDR2. I think the biggest thing unknown that is coming are the three jobs so far announced and hopefully others later. Heists are sort of like some of the story missions that you can do, so if they add them in that format I would enjoy that, and I do believe they are going to continue that story with more content as well so in a way I do think we will get the equivalent to heists via story missions yet to come out, but we will have to wait and see. One thing I hate about GTA V is as a new player when you go online it is super overwhelming, so many updates, add ons, challenges, heists, businesses etc.. It is just way too much for a new player to pop in and try to sort out and I would hate to see that happen in RDR2. I love the way you start in RDR2 everyone starts exactly the same way and then has choices of how they want to level up, you can try story missions, stranger missions, random encounters, hideouts, hunting, etc.. with no telegrams coming every two minutes from another obscure contact asking you to do a particular mission or activity. I just would hope they keep it this way so no matter how long you have played or if you were to buy the game this week and jump in you wont be completely lost and overwhelmed while all around you are players with over the top weapons, horses, items, etc.. that makes you a bunny in a lions cage, in RDR2 you can pretty quickly get yourself to a point that you can survive no matter what level your attacker or opponent is. What I do hope they do is introduce a judicial system and use both Sysika Penn and Guarma as well as the gallows, and courts, it would be interesting, to have the option to capture a bounty alive, and turn them in to see them appear in court, or be hanged or sentenced to prison or exiled to Guarma, plus the obvious missions it would allow makes it a very interesting possibility.

I didnt even know this was a thing, hmm Ill have to check and see where I am at.

Besides pvp related challenges, because I no longer do any of those, as far as the herbs, skins, fish, etc.. go, which are ones that you either cant seem to get or find? Mine are Prairie chickens and Vultures. I know where they are supposed to be, I actually got a prairie chicken today, even though it wasnt a requirement, but the days we get those two as challenges I never seem to find either. Condor's everywhere but never a vulture. Quails everywhere, but never a Prairie chicken. So what items do you struggle with as far as daily challenges go?

Exactly, me too, it is a little annoying we dont get an additional boost like those folks who havent done the 21 day or more streak. I had hit day 31 then missed a day, now I am at day 59 I think or 60, I have nearly 100 days in all with only 1 day missed, but after 21 days you do get the 2.5 x gold which equals .5 for each challenge. I rarely do all 7, I dont do any pvp at all anymore, I do not like the pvp in this game and until they revamp it I will not play it at all, so I usually get 3 to 5, once in a while Ill get 6 or 7 but not very often.

This is very good and exactly what I was looking for. If you read it, in one part it says. "As the next major expansion to Red Dead Online approaches, adventure-seekers can earn Double Gold for taking on Daily Challenges this week. Completing all seven Challenges will award a total of Four Gold Bars per day through September 2." So, there it is, "As the next MAJOR expansion approaches..." It is coming!!! and the gold bar thing for dailys is funny, it says double gold, but I already get 2.5x gold multiplier, I get 3.5 gold bars everyday that I complete all 7 challenges, I think it is only double gold if you have no multipliers already in effect for consecutive days of daily challenges. Anyway, this announcement qualifies as "more information", now they are clear to drop it. I had hoped for literally more information like tell us more about the dogs, or the jobs, or the cost of making a new character etc.. But Im happy to hear anything at this point. I believe in two weeks it will drop, that is my guess on record. Traditionally summer ends on Sept 21st, it used to be March 21st first day of spring , June 21st first day of summer, Sept 21st first day of Autumn, and Dec 21st first day of Winter. So based on that 9/23 Tuesday would technically be after summer so to me it has to be any week before the 23rd. That leaves 8/27, 9/3, 9/10, 9/17 for the Summer update to drop. I had doped in Spring that the Spring update would drop at the beginning of Spring but it didnt, and so I think the summer update will follow suit and drop towards the end of the summer. Either way, I had 135 gold bars, 8900$ in cash and everything I need in terms of weapons, horses, camp stuff, etc.. I only log in, do my daily challenges and then depending on what my needs are I might go hunting or grinding a little to hit the next level, today I cleared a hideout and grabbed a treasure map, first one in several weeks, gave me 1.09 gold, so that was a nice treat. Getting excited for the update, it is very close now. If you dont have 4 ability cards at tier 3, get busy, if you are broke, get busy, if you are at a low level get busy, after this update drops you will be thankful that you set yourself as much as you did when you had the chance. Right now in the game it can be boring yes, BUT you dont have griefers everywhere, you dont have tons of trolls, you dont have confused and angry players everywhere, it is a great time to grind out some levels in peace.

I was thinking about this and a few things stuck out. Rockstar said in the coming weeks we would get more information. I dont think we get an update tomorrow sadly, I think at best, we get more information. Hopefully we get a news wire report of additional changes to expect when the update hits, possibly a trailer although I doubt it. My guess is if you log on tomorrow you will find a new splash screen with some news, and potentially a news wire report, with or without a release date. Part of me thinks, a good strategy would be to make the announcement tomorrow, update the info, release a trailer and announce a release date. Should that happen they would get a ton of excitement going, really do a solid marketing move that is sure to bring people back with a few weeks left to level up, earn gold, etc.. in anticipation of the upcoming release. I feel like 90% certain that the update will not drop tomorrow, its just a hunch, no science or information went into it, it is just what I think. Seeing that they havent exactly done release date announcements previously or released trailers before the other updates if you go by past updates alone, it could go either way, BUT I do believe that since they went out of their way to say specifically in the coming weeks there will be additional announcements, tells me that we will not get the update before we get more information. We will all have to wait and see, I expect either 8/26 or 9/2 to be the actual release date with 9/2 being what my gut tells me. Either way I am still very excited about this game and I cant wait for the update, Ive been charging along ranking up and hoarding gold expecting expensive upgrades, changes and opportunities. So, I signed up for the free trial back on July 9th. I linked my accounts and social club and was rewarded with the expected rewards. I dont own GTA V, but I saw there were not only rewards for that game as well, (1.2 million if you sign up before July 19th) and some other stuff plus the 54 cards that they have now added to the game that if you collect them all will give you a future reward in RDR2. My question is, if I buy GTA V this weekend while it is on sale still, and I link it to my social club account, do you think I will then get those twitch/prime rewards and benefits? I wasnt planning on buying it but I figured for the sale price if I can get the additional rewards plus a chance to hunt down those 54 cards it would be worth it. I can buy the online premium edition that comes with the Megalodon shark card worth 8 million $ gta money for $40.40, saving around $100.00 or more so for that much of a discount, and while I still have the twitch prime thing I figured I may as well do it. I plan to cancel the twitch/prime thing before the 19th when my free month subscription ends as I dont use Amazon or twitch it doesnt make any sense for me to pay for it just to get these few benefits. Has anyone else recently purchased gta V and set up their twitch/prime subscription promotion? Do you think that If I buy the game now, after the fact, that I will get those promotional rewards? I would just hate to spend the $40 and then find out for some reason that I cant get the free penthouse or the 1.2 million etc...

The great thing is, you can do that, but others dont have too if they chose not too, this is why I love the system of defensive mode vs offensive, you can decide, just because some want to remain in defensive mode to hunt and all, doesnt affect the way you want to play, there are always others willing to troll you, so play in offense mode if you enjoy that tension as you described. I can tell you being in defensive mode changes very little, Trolls will be trolls and they still approach and steak things off my horse, try to lasso me, run at me with a gun out etc..The only difference is I can now let them shoot first, or attack, then once the game switches their blue blip to red, I am now free to kill them without consequences, personally I dont wait, I take the hostility increase as it doesnt last long, so when a player approaches me with a rope to try and tackle me or whatever, I just kill them, lol same as I would otherwise, it just makes it hard for them as they cant lasso me, they cant lock on etc.. and I have weapons that dont require auto aim, like dyna arrows and incendiary rounds, so instead of being tied up, or shot and killed first, I see their actions, realize they want to troll me, I take them out and move on, within 10 minutes my hostility level reverts to low and I am back to where I was before. I wish they woudl change it so if you try to lasso me or you point your gun at me for more than 2 seconds you then turn red and your hostility level goes up, so I dont have to kill you while you are low hostility and then get the hostility increase, I am sure in time they will.

Although it sucks to drag out a 20 minute timer, what I do is hunt, I kill everything that moves during that countdown, so I end up with a LOT of xp on top of the payout, I havent seen too many people using that time to grief ass it can mess up their mission after having waited all that time, like if they were to deliver a pelt, or cart, etc.. messing with people almost assures they will lose out on the pay off, I am sure it happens, I just havent seen it.

I find when things like that happen, just close the game, then on xbox do a hard start/stop, hold the power button til the unit shuts down, wait a few minutes, then fire it back up, this supposedly does a memory dump similar to a reboot on a pc and when I do this, things are back to normal. I forget that although I turn the xbox off it really goes into like a sleep mode and isnt truly "off" so once I remember to reboot it that way, everything seems to be good to go again. I hope it helps.

So, I made a large camp, in it I noticed the same chest from the Van Horn Pawn, with the same initials on it. Has anyone else noticed this? I took a screen shot but I havent had a minute to upload it, I will do that later to show the trunk, or chest or whatever it is called.

So, after many months of pondering this and seeing what others have done there with re-animating bodies both human and animal, I had a thought. When you first discover the site there is half a body there with a mask on it and a goats head at the alter for a sacrifice as if someone was in progress with a ritual already. Recently others have posted pics and videos of still dead yet full bodies there when they arrive, on the ground, after the initial visit when they found the half body on the post in the center, they came back and then found a full body, lying on the ground, all grey but full with legs and arms. so my thought is this. What if when you discover the site, instead of taking the mask, you first go get 4 deer carcasses, or even maybe npc human carcasses, I dunno, but either way 4 carcasses, (in the case of the deer, use 3* carcasses.) and put one on each point of the sacrifice area, just like has been done to re-animate deer, and then leave the site and come back, do you think it is possible to re-animate the existing body that you find when you get there? And what if, (this is a long shot stretch, but what the heck, a secondary thought, what if that body ends up being Gavin?) Ok, forget Gavin for a minute, what if the purpose of this site is to bring the dead back, and when we find it, it is all set up, except the sacrifices that need to be added? I wonder.... I wonder if it would work with 4 humans, 4 deer, 4 wolves, etc.. based on your play through honor level at the time you discover this, also, at what point in the story would be best to actually discover it? and does that matter? I dont know, But I think there might be something to this, I think it is possible to re-animate the existing body we find when we discover the site, I am going back to my play through and trying various things with this in hopes to better understand what its purpose is and what if anything we can learn or discover. Im still working on this theory but I felt like maybe others have similar thoughts so I wanted to put it out there. It just seems to me it is all set up for an event of some kind, and we now know we can bring back animals and so I am goign to assume under the correct set of circumstances a human being as well, so, why not the human being we find there when we discover it? Thoughts? Also, NOTE: "One another side note, some have said, they think since the nearby Monolith is so close that it may be related, I do not, I think rather the monolith has ties to the portal used by Sinclair to time travel, the Egyptians I believe thought about Monoliths as some sort of portals, I might have that wrong, I heard it recently and Egyptians stuck in my head but I could be wrong with that, however someone in history had thought of them as portals in some way, and that made me think, perhaps un-related to the Pagan site this could be the portal that we see Francis Sinclair stepping through in the collage in his cabin, but I digress, this is about the Pagan site." Ill get back to this one later, but I had to include it as it often comes up in these discussions about the Pagan site.

So, if you make 3 outfits, and save them to your horse, then go to "outfits" in your wardrobe and save to horse, you can actually save 5 outfits. I was able to do it both yesterday and today. yesterday I was able to tweak the "grizzlies" outfit and make it my cold weather outfit while still retaining the others. It isnt perfect, but we are getting closer to a time when we can name our custom outfits and save them, so you can have 5 saved outfits. I like this as I have a posse outfit, my group outfit, my free roam outfit, cold weather outfit and pvp outfit, plus you have your posse outfits that are built in, so essentially 7 outfits. Anyway below is a pic showing 5 of 5 outfits saved to my horse.

I think it means, if you are in defensive let's say and you go from free roam into a pvp session and then eventually back into Free roam, that your settings will revert, as they go to offensive I think automatically when you go into pvp, I think? not sure if that is auto or not, but anyway my understanding was as I said, it should remember your settings for free roam and put them back on automatically. I too cant wait for character creation, I initially made a character with a lot of character in his face, on purpose, but I also made him over weight, I wanted a certain look for the times and his age, like this is an old guy, he survived the civil war and then headed west to prospect, eventually took to some bandit stuff some hunting, mostly just surviving and taking things as they came, BUt his weight was a huge problem for a long time as I had a nasty stamina drain rate penalty as a result and his clothes would glitch, so I wanted to fix that for a long time, Now though I am so used to him, he lost the weight, some days I am actually under weight which is a huge difference given where I started and so I dunno, I may or may not change him at this point to be honest. but I am really excited to have the option.
