  1. lol yeah I did that to the first time, the second time, I just ran, and never got caught and didnt have to kill anyone, so I dint do it "properly" but I managed to get the reward.
  2. I think not being able to walk faster when doing chores at Beechers hope is a drag honestly it just takes forever to do them all, although I do them, it is irritating that and the fact that you built this great ranch and you cant take a bath at home, I totally do not understand this at all. Anyway yes there are annoying features here and there, and I try to remember you just know if they cold have had another year and more money this game would be even more incredible, but they had to release it at some point and so for the imitations they did have, I think they did an incredible job.
  3. LOL I totally understand. Personally I dislike games that make you sneak around alot they get boring and tedious because if you are seen in many you have to begin again etc.. so I do not like them usually, however sprinkled in here and there I dont mind, and in this case I was more interested in seeing what would happen if I didnt kill anyone, the first time I just waked down, took the thing I needed and shot everyone and left, lol Eagle flies wasnt pleased.
  4. I really dont mind these things. The game developers want you to slow down, if that isnt obvious enough. It isnt a run and shoot em up game it is a look very very carefully at everything twice game. Running through camp serves no purpose. Talking to everyone at camp, everyday and at 4 different times of day yields missions, secrets, requests, back stories, funny tid bits you wont get any other way etc.. lots and lots of reasons to slow down in camp. The missions being the same color, is actually good, there is no real order to them the ones that do have a specific order will spawn when necessary, you can pick and choose, BUT I want to do every single mission in the game so I dont care what it is, I am looking forward to it every time. If you skip missions and only play certain ones I dont think you can advance the story to the next chapter at least with the yellow mission markers. Anyway to each his own, nobody hates you for having an opinion lol, we all have our own feelings and ideas about how we want to approach the game and there is no real right or wrong way as far as Im concerned, if you have fun and enjoy yourself, then your doing it right.
  5. LOL good luck it is hit or miss, I went as Arthur and grabbed the rams head mask in New Austin, I didnt realize anyone was there, I saw signs of people but noone around, so I just rode in and jumped the fence grabbed and started to leave when all of a sudden a few farmers/ranchers came out to stop me, I thought, uh oh now I've done it, but I was able to kill them, and get away and not have a bounty or any problems, just dont leave any witnesses.
  6. I was going to say that but I didnt want to spoil it lol. Yes all you have to do is sneak in and not kill anyone, even if you are seen, chased and it takes a long time, you will still get the reward as long as you do not kill anyone. Ask me how I know!! I had it in my hand and was sneaking away when I heard, hey, their in the camp, and I knew I was spotted, I ran up the hill partly then into the train tunnel, they wil not follow you in there, I had to wait until they gave up and went back to guard duty, and then I snuck back up the Mt to Eagle and my reward. The first time I did this is was a breeze and I was never spotted, the second time it was really hard to not be seen, I guess you just need to be real patient. If you do it without being seen, it is literally a breeze, noone chase you, no alarms, etc.. just sneak in, sneak out and then walk up the hill, done.
  7. That satchel is everything, I got mine in the end of Chapter 2, very beginning of 3, only because I thought you couldnt hunt the Panther until later for some reason, once I realized my mistake I went Panther hunting and completed it quickly and from then on, the game was a joy as far as picking herbs and stuff. I kept so many gator eggs that at one point I think i had nearly 99, they sell for a couple bucks, those and plumes, I made a ton of cash just selling off the extra stuff I didnt need for Algernon. I found with so many spread all over the map, I would pick what I needed and spend 4 or 5 days doing other herbs and things and circle back, certain things like Golden Currant, at first this was tough to find, by the end and even now, I Can spot it a mile away and it is everywhere in The Northeast and even around Beechers hope, you need this along with burdock root and yarrow to make miracle tonics, once I realized that I stopped crafting anything else that wanted any of those three herbs and I just over collected them so I could craft dozens of miracle tonics, it takes 6 of each for one tonic, so they can be tough to accumulate, it really gives you confidence moving forward when you have tons of stock on hand all crafted and ready to go, the bad guys never had a chance, that satchel is key.

    Robins??

Yes this one is hard, I have spent a lot of time bird hunting and around the Dakota river as well as The Kamassa river which also spawns tons of birds, but no darn Robins.
  9. Yes, when Eagle Flies asks you to help him on a side mission, if you do it properly he will reward you with the Owl trinket, I forgot all about that one. Fun and simple mission too and the trinket is very handy. It Permanently reduces Health, Stamina, and Dead Eye core drain speed by 15%. That is one handy trinket.
  10. Blackberries I think are more rare than any orchids, they were tough to find, and they look like raspberry plants. completing multiple challenges at the same time is fun and very satisfying and feels natural while out exploring. Then again, it took me three play through's to understand the game enough to take this approach, lol.
  11. I found it, Owl Feather Trinket!!
  12. The list shows 20, what is the 21st perk? My game progress shows 20 out of 21 perks and I dont see what I am missing. Is there a list somewhere? I have searched but I dont see a list, only the official list that shows the following: 20 of 21 discovered 14 Trinkets Beaver Tooth Trinket Buck Antler Trinket Cougar Fang Trinket Coyote Fang Trinket Elk Antler Trinket Fox Claw Trinket Iguana Scale Trinket Lion's Paw Trinket Moose Antler Trinket Panther's Eye Trinket Pronghorn Horn Trinket Ram Horn Trinket Wolf Heart Trinket Tatanka Bison Horn Trinket 6 Talismans Alligator Tooth Talisman Bear Claw Talisman Boar Tusk Talisman Bison Horn Talisman Eagle Eye Talisman Raven Claw Talisman Thats 20 so what is the 21st?
  13. In three play through's Ive never seen one I found the others, but no Robins, so........ Anyone get a Robin? I could use a clue, I used the map location of them as listed on the rdr2 map and site but no soap, ive been looking aggressively for weeks.
  14. I dunno I found once you got the trinket and a scope, you could hunt anywhere you wanted, I used the swamp as a meat locker, gators are easy to find and hunt, and once you get a rifle they are one shot kills and perfect pelts plus big game meat, anyway you can go off and do anything you want, but for best results, you can do a few things prior and plan things out much like you would do on a hunting trip. Hunting can be a huge part of this game or it can be minimal, its up to you, I loved it and spent a lot of time in my third play through crafting and picking and hunting and fishing, I played it like Arthur was on hunting trips and other things would just happen along the way, I avoided story missions as much as possible and did everything I could but always based on a hunting trip, so I was always doing three or four things at once and it felt natural this way like Arthur was just having fun and making money. I would go out and stck up the camp, come back and hang out at camp for three days, talk to everyone at all times of day to see what came of it usually requests and stuff, some backstory, etc.. then I would leave for 5 or 6 nights on a hunting trip, and while out on the trip, I might run into a stranger and get diverted for a while, or stumble upon a dino bone or rock carving,, find a blody corpse and a note or a treasure map, etc.. then go hunting, check my needs for the satchel, and keep going back to camp to upgrade and stock up Pearson make everyone happy, do chores, then head back out. By chapter 2 I had that satchel upgraded and wow what a difference it made everything else, all the herbalist challenges, etc.. so much easier with a huge satchel. In my previous play through's I did not do this, first time I rushed it and second time I just wasnt looking for everything I missed he first time, so I wanted to do one where I did it all as I went along and paid attention to everything all the time, and that was great fun.
  15. I was missing two orchids and blackberries. You have to get all the orchids. For me it was a ride to Annesburg near Butcher creek, then up by O'creaghs or whatever and then out to Owajilla lake north of there for both an orchid and blackberries. This was after I went to New Austin In New Austin head down toward Mcfarlanes ranch for that white and yellow fever flower I forget its name, then down to the desert for black currant, and two others, red sage was one and I cant remember the other but they were easy to find once you got down between Armidilla and Tumbleweed
  16. LOL sweet. Just when you think you have seen it all, some nutty sh*t happens, I took a stage to St Denis yesterday, when I arrived the coach was wheelied all up in the air for some reason and another coach trying to get past caused all sorts of disruption my horse got winged, etc.. was quite the scene. I just thought it would be a fun post to put short videos of funny stuff and anomalies.
  17. I noticed if you put away your gun and just ride to some place quickly for some unrelated thing, every little bird in the game will make an appearance until you slow down and arm yourself then its a wasteland. Ive been hunting a Robin for what seems like weeks, damn thing, ive never seen one. But, the Dakota river in many locations spawns lots of birds, and the river north west of Annesburg also spawned lots of woodpeckers, and orioles and other birds, never a damn robin but lots of others. Oh, and by the Downes place I saw mutliple red cardinals, and also by the dinosaur lady's place.
  18. This happened to me too but it said press R1 I think to aim, and normally OI would press that to shoot or maybe it was the bumper, I forget but either way, usually I only need to press the left side to aim my weapon at something, but in the store it did say, press right (something or other) and when I did, it did aim, and did not fire, so I was hesitant but just do what it says it should work, there are a few times in the story this happens, two or three if I remember. Also, obviously check to make sure you didnt set up your controller differently but even if you did, I think the game would just tell you to press whatever you now had it set to be, pretty sure it is intuitive.
  19. Hmm, no I have not found any in St Denis but to be fair, I havent looked at all, I am in the epilogue and still havent found the vampire,I did in my previous play through but so far in this one, I just havent gotten around to it, and so I hadnt searched for other stuff, but now im interested to know more. But I have to say, since you can find the writings and lead to the vampire in early chapters long before you have access to Blackwater, I dont think the mysterious writing has anything to do with the vampire, I think it has something to do with a whole other mystery. Perhaps the people or person who was involved in the disappearance of the Blackwater Athletic club? I dunno, but that is my first impression.
  20. Thanks man, Ill add you when I get the strength to turn the console back on. Lump
  21. Coca Cola Kid, Thanks man, Im on Xbox as lump321 online Born Homicidal, Thank you for the clarification about camp icon, that was confusing, I must have gone into someone else camp and not even known it, thankfully they werent there. I did read every word in the help section lol, Ive checked my lockbox thing, and the post office every day since and still nothing from Rockstar, and I have to say I think the offer said they would reward you with Gold if you did the two step, the message I got said Rockstar gifted me an "Item" it didnt say gold, and that threw me off a little but either way, nothing from Rockstar has been delivered to my game either at camp or at a post office. This Im not worried about other than thinking my game is messed up, but I guess it just takes up to 72 hours and in my life if it can go wrong, it will so if they say it can take 72 hours, mine will come after 71 hours 59 minutes, id bet my life on it. As far as the recruitment thing goes, it may seem odd to some, but I struggle with ptsd and anxiety and to each person it can be very different how it effects them, for me, it is hard to just mingle in with folks I dont know and feel comfortable, especially if I dont understand things and need a lot of answers, it is hard on me. Anxiety isnt logical, it is overwhelming and difficult at times, so this is one reason I often just skip the multiplayer aspect of a game, with a few exceptions, like COD ww2, im pretty good at it, well good enough to not feel raped, same with golf I can hold my own, so no worries, but when I have no clue and so many questions I find it very difficult to pair up with folks I dont know. for example, if I were to even consider looking at that thread, I feel like, I have nothing to offer anyone, I am just sponge really as I need everything, have no idea about many things in the game and the one time I tried and joined a session with others to complete a mission I didnt know what I was doing, nobody was talking to me, and in the end they stole my bounty from my horse while I stopped to loot a few bodies, so I dunno man, I will look closer at the recruitment thing, but it isnt as simple as a choice sometimes. If that is the only way then sadly I might not be able to enjoy rdr2 online. I truly do want to, it seems great in many ways, and I love the maps and horses etc.. Just hate bullies and a holes, I wish people would just leave me alone, I know they are bored but damn, dont you have another game to go play? If you are so bored that you have resorted to ruining other peoples experience, maybe its time to play a new game. And Rockstar for their part is allowing it, yet they want me to be interested and play this game, you cant have it both ways, no matter how good the graphics are if the experience leaves me upset and not having fun, I am not going to play it, at all. I did send them feedback on this point Ill try again later after I have eaten and calmed down, so far my afternoon was 5 minutes of game time, 90 minutes of bitching about it and about an hour of posting in the forums while my game was paused., not a great day.
  22. See retribution is fine if you have a weapon that can kill more than a squirrel, I do not. For me, I can hide, avoid, run, etc.. And if I can be hassled at my own camp then wtf? Someone else said paying dues, I am all about learning the game slowly, but being harassed when I am trying to learn the ropes doenst make the game any fun at all. I know there are people like in life that are just jerks, in life I rarely ever have to deal with them, they dont mess with me, only cowards at home in a game ever do. Paying dues is starting at the bottom and learning/earning your way, which is all I want to do. Personally I think until you level up , you should not be able to be attacked or messed with by others beyond your level, either put the higher level players together on a server and lower level players alone in their own server, so the new guys can hunt, fish, learn, take part in missions, etc.. until they get to a certain level, one where they have a chance to buy a few weapons, and horses. Above a guy said, he went after the guy who hogtied him with dual shotguns, well that must be nice, what I wouldnt give for a sawed of shotgun right now, try that with a varmit rifle. Anyway you people here at RDR2.org have been really great!! so informative and nice and I can not thank you again, without this board to vent on a little I think I would have moved on two days ago, to any number of more fun things to do than be be hassled by 12 year olds in a video game. Im going to try one more time, take all this information in and see how it goes, Im all about a positive attitude and I can take my lumps, if my name doesnt give that away already it now should. Thanks everyone
  23. Again, thanks for all the info. Top clarify, they chased me down, until my horse couldnt run, then followed me slowly to my camp, and would not leave. I used emotes to wave and show Im not hostile, they waved back, then at my camp, led my horse away and as I said, eventually killed me two or three times. On the Rockstar thing. So I didnt realize I needed to check my email, I had been avoiding my email for other reasons lately, I assumed I cold just use the ticket submission and dashboard, after reading your tips, I went to my email found their response and answered them back. They told me, that within 72 hours I would see the gift, but again, it has definitely been longer than that, but ok whatever. Another frustration is that to reply from my dashboard or whatever I cant, it takes forever to load, then it shows my open tickets, I can click on the ticket # but never do I go to a spot where I can update the ticket, now obviously it must be there, and I am just not seeing it. Once I get frustrated and overwhelemed everything stops making sense to me. So, ive learned a lot today, but here I am at my camp, still broke, not sure even what to do, I want to go hunting, but it never ends well, I need a rifle, that I cant afford, and even if I could it says it is locked until level something or other but at level 7, it was definitely double digits to get the rifle, so now I just dont know what I should even do. I really appreciate the time you took today, Thank you very much, I'm doing my best, never has a game made me feel so inadequate and stupid. Im about to give up, but I really want to give it a fair shake, I am almost out of patience. Thanks again
  24. WoW let me just say if the players I met in game were as informative and nice as you guys are here in this board, this game would be awesome. I cant thank you enough for taking the time to explain these things to me and share with me your experiences and advice, Thanks very much. I have a lot to learn if I am too keep trying to play, R* respones was not to respond, have not received a word from them at all. kind of bummed about that too. The block thing sounds good, 400?!? lol my goodness man, thats a lot of A holes to deal with. Thanks for that tip though Ill be looking into that one for sure. I do have my horse set to me only which is why I was flabbergasted to see it being led away from my camp. The guy who did it later explained he was leading it away from my camp to pet it!! wtf is that? he did that in hopes I wouldnt understand and then I woudl shoot at him which I did, and of course that ended badly for me.
  25. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it man. I am on xbox one x My friends all play on ps4's so.... there's that. I really dont play mutliplayer games that force you to play with others because again, my friends arent here and im sorry but I have a severe anxiety disorder and meeting new people when I feel so inadequate doesnt work for me, I wish I could I truly do, but I cant. I did get invited to a chat with the guys who were hassling me and they explained how they see a blue dot and like to follow him or her just to see what they do, they said blue new players often dont get things yet and are afraid of red dots, which is true enough and they said it is funny for them to just follow them until they do something stupid like attack or shoot out of frustration or confusion, nice enough guys but they ruined my game today, so how is that fun for everyone? Everyone likes to do things there own way, Im no different, I have no fun running around killing, I can play COD ww2 if that is what I want, and I often do, but here I want to level up with hunting and searching and completing challenges that dont involve hurting others. Again, thanks for your words and advice. I guess alone isnt going to work well at least not for now, maybe when this beta gets ironed out more I guess, maybe Ill try it again then. I was really looking forward to enjoying this world and maps within it but it just isnt fun.
