  1. I am very new, just hit level 17 today, I had the starting horse until the other day, around level 13 I think, I was able to buy the red Arabian. I dont like Arabians for the most part, but it is a huge improvement from that nag I had. I liked the look and size of my nag honestly but it couldnt run a mile without wanting to have a seizure and was very litle use to me in a mission or defending myself, the Arabian can really run, a long way, fast, so for now anyway I am really enjoying the upgrade, I cant wait to get up to a much higher level and be able to explore the horses online a little more.
  2. Thank you all very much, good info there.
  3. I just hit level 17, I had one very early on like level 7 or 8, and another one around level 13 I think. Ive had 2 in 17 levels.
  4. So I chose paint it black as one of my cards, it says I will be able to paint a target on enemies while in dead eye then fire my weapon to shoot those targets, but I cant seem to get it to work, maybe it is different than sp? I just cant seem to get dead eye to do anything but go into that mode where the color changes, but nothing slows down as expected in online, and I can not paint a target on anything animals or enemies. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Or how to paint targets on enemies in dead eye online? Thanks
  5. I had the lake lure, forget how I got it but I was very new so I didnt buy it, it was a gift I think from Rockstar fro doing something. Anyway I accidentally cut my line while using it and yes, you lose it, I am so mad I lost my lure, argg!! It was great because if you fish like I did , you can use the lure to avoid smaller fish, so you dont waste time with red fin or chain pickerel, or rock bass or blue gills, not that I dont catch those, I do, with bread then I switch to lure to avoid catching more since I cant carry more, this stradegy was working really well for me, I woudl catch 10 of each of those plus bull heads, then catch 10 large mouths, 10 small mouths, 10 steel heads and 1 stergeon, so everytime I went to the butcher is was pretty lucrative. Now it is a pin as I end up releasing many fish I cant carry, what is super irritating, is I cant even buy a lure not til level 30!!! wtf is that??
  6. I came on the boards today specifically to find out about the fishing challenge This sounds right up my alley but so far I cant find anyone who has done it, or seen it pop up or knows how to get it to engage. Following........
  7. I completely understand your motivations on moving posts, I think that all of our passion for this game sometimes comes out wrong and I apologize for my frustration if it came out poorly or came across as negative. My point with THIS post was not about griefing, or against it, I just wanted to show that without it, quite by accident, the game was a 100% different experience for me as a result of servers being down and a lack of players as a result. I really had no idea how most of these missions and activities worked until I was able to try them myself and experience them, it did raise the question why are so many others bored with this and engaging in those other activities when there is so much to do that will help you level up, earn money and gold and unlock other encounters, but that is a discussion for another day. Until I had this opportunity to explore all the icons and try the various events that it would allow ( some you cant do without other players in the world) and this shed a new light on the game for me anyway, and it was very enjoyable. Im very optimistic for the future of this game, in the two weeks I have been trying it, I have seen a lot of changes and learned a lot about the game play. After trying what is essentially "capture the flag" I was happy to see that you can join game modes that allow you to shoot and kill and engage in gun fights and they are really fun and help you develop your fighting skills. I suggest if you are having issues with the game in that your not sure what to do and are afraid to wander from your camp, use the quick join option from your menu and jump into one of these modes, the R* icon I think it is, this way you are in a lobby with others, part of a team with a clear objective and you will be playing a more linear style multiplayer first person / 3rd person shooter like a Call of Duty style game. Rockstar put out an article in the "news" section about a new hostility system and I think that shows that they are working hard to do what they can on that front, so complaining about what has been going on in the past few weeks is kind of a mute point I also learned about the dot colors and how they change and how that works and it makes sense and once I understood that a little better it made me feel like they are listening to us and looking for ways to bring balance, I think we need to be patient and let them do what they need to do during this beta. I definitely do not want to revisit the complaining about players and their actions, rather point out that there really is a lot to do online, it is not just about hunting active players, but it is more about taking on missions and exploring the online stories that have been written for us. Ive been a moderator on some large sites, and I know it is hard to balance repetition with passion and individuals feeling like they are not represented. I think that other new players who only start playing online this week and next might end up here looking for posts to help them understand what is going on and knowing how these things evolve over time can be very helpful for new players given there is no real manual and unless you subscribe to the news releases you may not be aware of all the work and changes that have been happening and hopefully will continue to happen. I think the new system ( hostility system) will do a lot to help things as you can defend yourself without incurring a red dot. In the very beginning as a new player you have nothing but questions, but if you are lucky enough to get into a relatively empty server and explore things without anyone distracting you everything kind of answers itself and you can quickly jump in and have fun online. I developed a strategy that has worked very well for me and my style of play and I am able to really enjoy the online experience and if I find unfortunate trouble, its not a big deal, just parlay re spawn and get back to it, I wont let it bother me as I understand it now and other than an inconvenience you dont lose anything other than pelts and carcasses you migth have on your horse. Ignoring these little issues and playing the game allowed me to level up 7 levels in one session and upgrade my horse and weapons, getting my character closer to what I would consider ready for anything. So if you are frustrated, a little lost, wondering what you can do to better the experience, some things that helped me were: Use the quick join option and jump into a game mode, give it a try. Look at where players are and what they are doing, you can actually engage with players that are playing some missions and it is part of the game for example, if someone decides to start a stranger mission from a post office, typicaly it is to deliver mail, but did you know that any player can actively try to steal that mail and deliver it themselves?, or if you take on a job to deliver a cart, any player in the game can chose to get involved and steal or destroy said cart and earn points also? These are ways you can engage without starting the mission, you will see the dots labelled as either targets or other things in usually a bold red dot with an icon, that means if you are out fishing and hear some commotion an see this guy with a caravan or delivering mail, you can go get him and have a little fun but not offend anyone and just be part of the experience. That type of gameplay was all new to me in multiplayer games and I think it is really great, it can be stressful if you are trying to deliver that mail, lol but that is the point I think.
  8. I just wanted to share my final thoughts of the online experience for others who are new and wanting to give it a try and maybe having a rough go of it. Sorry if it is a bit long, I wanted to cover a few different POSITIVE things rather than negative stuff as is usually the case. I tried to break this down and make it easier to read quickly so it doesnt drone on and on. Yesterday, I didnt know about the server issues, I joined early in the day around 7 am EST, and I played until around 5 am the next day, it was great. What made it great? There were no more than 2 players in the game at any given time except when I left finally after 23 hours or so I was able to level up 7 or 8 levels, upgrade my horse, weapons, etc.. Found two treasure maps and treasure. I think players who have been around a while, did all this as it became available and now are bored with those and while waiting for content end up experimenting and often it ends up with player killing and getting revenge, when it is friends killing eachother for fun, that is one thing, and probably great fun sometimes, but as far as strangers go, not so much. There were enough players that you could take part in stranger missions on the other side of the map without interruptions. I was able to finally try the stranger missions and those were really fun, one was with Sean and I thought that was great!! But without players killing me arbitrarily while I am fishing or on my way to market, I was able to get a lot done, and experience a lot more of the online portion of the game. Up until yesterday I hadnt had a chance to try any of these. Previously I hadnt wandered far from camp as it always ended bad, even fishing in a corner by myself just outside of Blackwater. I nearly wrote the game off and never looked back, but this server issue really gave me a 23 hour window to roam and explore unmolested and it let me glimpse at all the game had to offer. The two different people that did approach and kill me while I was fishing, were still a reminder of what I hate about this game, people, but they were so few and far between that it really wasnt enough to worry about. The only other interruptions were from people who tried to stop me while doing a stranger mission like getting a cart, or delivering mail, etc.. and those are parts of the game, I even took an assassination job and hunted down a guy and after he got me 3 times I eventually killed him and closed the mission. Anyway I had only fished and hunted until yesterday because every time I left my camp for any reason I was eventually gunned down without warning and I was getting frustrated and sick of it honestly. After seeing so much more of the game yesterday I got a better feel for what was intended and it really is fun, especially seeing characters from the single player missions woven into the story, I thought that was great. If you dont like the way the game is right now and are trying to give it a shot, if you hang in there til you get a day like I did yesterday and hopefully leveling up a little will help make the game a little easier and more fun for you.. I think people need to remember it is beta and they are working it out so not to expect so much so quickly and instead of playing it everyday and getting frustrated and bored and ending up killing everyone, go do something else and give the game a chance to grow a little, give others the same opportunities you had over the past 3 months. Sure there is killing and robbing, thieving, stealing, etc.. But you should still be able to go exploring with your friends and family or to the local butcher or fishing, or a soothsayer/ fortune teller, go to the bar or a show, without the fear of death, even in Deadwood, or Virginia city, St Louis, etc.. Yesterday felt more like that, sure there are things to worry about and threats everywhere, but not just bored players chasing you down and murdering you for no apparent reason. I really hope to see this trend continue one way or the other. This felt like what I was hoping might eventually come, two different free roams, one a free for all, where anything goes, and one where roaming players are protected, if they arent in a mission of some kind then they can not be shot or hunted, only within the framework of a mission of some kind, so if they chose to meet their buddy and show them around the map and show them some stuff, they wouldnt have to worry about being hunted every two minutes. I noticed certain players even in stranger missions you can not target, meaning they cant be shot, well there ya go, this is what they can do for players in free roam, so that you take out of the equation random needless killing, you can kill npc's for your daily challenges and stuff and players who partake in missions too, just not free roaming players, if it were like this, the game would be great and I cant see how anyone could complain about not being able to kill innocent bystanders. One thing I noticed both players who needlessly killed me claimed that I had previously killed them or been part of a team or posse that did, I had to correct them both as I had never joined a posse, started one or been any part of one, I never bothered anyone or shot another player and still have not except when instructed to by the game during a mission. So I think the game can do more to tell you who killed you each time and save that data so a player can add you to a list and remember you when he see's you again in the world to let you know to either avoid him or her or to get revenge on them, either way it might help eliminate false claims like these about me. Im not sure if they just made excuses, or if they really thought that and just didn't pay attention to who killed them, I think the latter. There were times that up to 10 people were in the map as the day wore on, and when early morning rolled around again, sometime around 5 am, I over took a hideout, Fort Riggs by myself, and I was collecting loot, when finally two other blue dots came to see me, luckily my base was only a few hundred feet from RIggs so was able to escape being shot down and made it to my camp and it was then I decided enough was enough, I had gotten an Arabian, a shotgun, upgraded most of my weapons at the smith, won a few fights while carrying out stranger jobs, and delivering mail, etc... I am very thankful for this server shutdown today as it gave me a chance to gain a better foothold in the world of RDR2O and see what other things you can do besides just fear all the dots and live in the shadows. Ultimately it is up to Rockstar to fix this thing so everyone can have a good time, and you can certainly have a good time playing without ever harassing players, so I dont know why it is taking them so long to patch it for this, but in the end if they do I think you will see a boom in population on these servers. It took me a couple weeks to get a chance to experience the online properly and it has a ton of potential, I hope it continues to grow in a positive way, and that a simple solution is implemented to strop griefing all together. Many disagree but forget we want the game to succeed, we want others to enjoy it too and experience the beautiful world within RDR2 and everyone needs to be able to enjoy it at their own pace and the way they want, no players should be forced to accept another players vision for the game, aggressive players can hunt and kill npc's til they are tired of it, those who play less aggressively can fish or hunt or explore until they are sick of it without fear of bored players hassling them. I didnt plan to add anything to these boards but I did want to leave on a positive note for other new players who have reached out to me with their own concerns and frustrations and let them know, there is fun in there, just try to stick it out a bit longer before you give up and move on. last thought, Sean said to me in a mission he sends us on, how they dont kill innocents, folks who arent "in the game" so to speak, and I think that nails the sentient of what I have been saying all along, outlaws ? yes, with a code? yep, arbitrarily kill innocent folks for fun, nope, not really. Even the outlaws had a code and didnt just murder for fun, they had a reason, even if that reason was selfish and a little skewed, but they didnt want to be hunted everywhere they went just like in the SP game laying low, not causing too much commotion, etc.. instead of killing everyone they encounter they refrain from it to avoid being detected and caught unnecessarily. So maybe some folks should re-think they motives and stop arguing that this is just "how it was" it wasnt, and it serves no purpose, remove that one part of the game, and all of a sudden you have something for everyone. This is all just my opinion, based on my experience in this game. everyone has their own views and rightly so, we arent necessarily right or wrong, just trying to find balance so that one size fits all can actually fit all. Flame on, and have a great day. If not for you guys and gals in here, this whole experience would suck a lot more than it sometimes does.
  9. Well you can do what you want, its your board but no I dont think it is even the same at all. One is How do you deal with them, The other is thew difference between them and trying to offer suggestions and start a discussion on how Rockstar can implement changes. I took a lot of time to think about what I wrote and ok, do what you want, I wont bother to contribute anymore, but to move the post is to kill it, people wont read it tagged at the end of a 6 page rant about griefing, I wasnt trying to do that at all. I think it is frustrating to try to decipher the two and .... whatever its dead now anyway thanks. It was never meant to be an argument, I made what I think are valid points and looking for others input and suggestions on ways to try to deal with it similar to how it woudl have been dealt with, but again...I tried, if we dont share ideas and you just decide willy nilly this one sounds like that one we arent going to get anywhere. The people on these boards have been very welcoming and informative, so I really dont think this was necessary at all, given the difference in topics and approach. Just because others discussed it once upon a time doesnt mean someone with a fresh perspective cant contribute ideas and thoughts too, I think sometimes people/mods spend too much time on the boards, and read many of the same things and so to them it seems repetitive but it isnt to others and one approach and all the comments might be too much for someone to stick with it and read all the way to my post which is 6 pages deep now is unlikely. I really cant understand why you chose to move such a long and thought out post, but given the game it figures, now mods are getting in on the action and here comes the shrapnel.
  10. Uh, no they didnt If you read what I wrote we covered that.Outlaws lived otuside the laws of the states that were changing the way things had been, all open and free, so they had a code, but they didnt just murder innocent people who were trying to go to the store or post office. The James gang, The Youngers, etc.. robbed, killed, stole, etc.. but nto from everyday regular folk, from other outlaws, corrupt leadership or whoever had what they needed at times, stealing and killing are very different things. I dont know where you ( I hate to use the term learned) about the old west, particularly in this time period, but go ahead and give it another look, you are off here, maybe in cartoons or hollywood fictions, but not according to old legends and the history books, regular folks were able to live out their lives without fearing death daily as they went fishing or out to the store,. You certainly dont have to read my posts, but if your gonna comment on it maybe just give it a quick look A lot of people want to believe it was that way to justify their actions, but they are wrong/ And in this game it makes no sense either it isnt fun it doesnt give you anything or any advantage to do it, so it is really just peopel bored, hassling others because they arent happy, and this is fundamentally what needs to change if you ask me, or if you expect people to enjoy the game. You can kill and steal, loot and rob all you want, but not innocent people who are just minding their own business, there needs to be punishment, jail time, high bail, fines,etc.. for hassling players who are not engaging you and you just roll up and shoo them without warning and for no reason, and no this is not how it was lol, peopel ddnt just run around free willy murdering others for no reason, especially in a community or township. They killed for money, horses, pride, and ego, but most had a code they lived by.
  11. I had a thought last night about this, something you said made me think. You said, "imo if people can't handle dealing with hostiles players.. Stop playing the game. Since its really part of the game." and although currently it is part of the game, it shouldnt be and doesnt need to be. I made a post today about the difference between an outlaw and a griefer in terms of how things were and therefore should be in game, if we are trying to simulate the wild west anyway. Killing was definitely part of life but with a code a reason, call a guy a cheater, or a coward or a liar and expect to fight, maybe even die, but you didnt see guys just killing strangers by shooting them in the back for no reason and leave, not even steal money or anything from them, if they werent a witness to a crime or ddint offend you or challenge you then you had no motive to kill them and usually didnt, people didnt fear going to the butcher, the game can be so much better if we eliminate the needless murdering of strangers for no reason and create a means to do that, a dual and challenge system, if you cheat in poker, you might get caught and then challenged to a fight or a draw, etc.. if you just arbitrarily kill people you should lose honor, and money and then everything should costs more for you, if this is your behavior. So say you kill a stranger by shooting him in the back, you woudl get a high bounty on you that any player can collect, you would be marked on the map and so any player in the game woudl then see you with a $ sign on your head, and anyone who captures or kills you woudl earn the bounty. Plus you would lose 10% to 25 % of your money when caught. Things like this can fix this system we have now. Just a thought.
  12. Its an old prototype of a hang glider type flying machine, John, or Arthur will write it in his journal, there is another similar north of Strawberry.,
  13. In a positive way, looking to decipher the difference and suggest a possible tweak or change. Ill submit to R* when I get a clear thought after maybe other peoples suggestions along the same lines. ( I was fishing last night, 50 feet from my camp border, a player came over and got off his horse, and was either picking herbs or shooting birds, I dunno, I made a point to put my pole away for a second, acknowledge the player, wave, and then re arm my pole and go back to fishing, the player stood behind me for a few minutes while I fished then all at once, tackled me, and killed me then rode off and left the game after I hit parley to avoid him, and sent him a note thanking him for minding his own business.) that is typical of the people I meet in game, they all feel a need to kill me without warning or after pretending to be neutral. One guy got off his horse, on the road that enters Strawberry and waited for me to leave the butcher and on my way out of town I had to pass him, I could see he was squatting a little with a rifle poised to kill me as I rode by, I somehow deaked and moved and survived the attack, he didnt chase, just left the game, this is my typical encounter.) In both experiences I asked myself now what were they thinking,? why was it important for them to kill me then? The game has potential, hopefully they can find balance between free roam and fun and killing. There needs to be a way to stop the killing that doesnt make sense, encourage it when it does. There seems to be confusion about the wild west, outlaws and killing. For example, some say, well its the wild west, this is to be expected, but I say, no your wrong, even in the wild west, people didnt ambush a guy fishing, murder him, not even for any money or anything worth anything, just kill him without even knowing his name, and move on, those arent outlaws, they are psychotic murderers. Perhaps one or two existed someplace at some time, but they arent the norm and that isnt how things were. Sure there were some, but with every murder they committed they were hunted more and more until they were caught, even other outlaws hated them, they had no honor and were essentially murdering cowards who gave highwaymen, road agents and outlaws bad names. Outlaws often had honor, they lived by a code, they would challenge a person to a dual, or a shoot out, or a fist fight, they didnt sneak up and shoot you in the back, the ones that did were hated by everyone and often hunted by the law and other outlaws. If you called a man a coward or a liar it meant you had to back it up with your fists or pistols, and that was normal and to be expected, I watch Westerns everyday. Maverick, Tales of Wells Fargo, Laramie, Wanted Dead or Alive, Cheyenne, etc.. In our game this is skewed, people get bored and without any incentive or pay off they decide to kill you for fun, not for any real reason or benefit, just to do it, and this will ruin the experience if you want to create a community of outlaws. Now if they give you some warning, or reason, or the game develope's that way, so you can be challenged by players then start off even and fight in some way, that would be great, but if they continue to just let people arbitrarily kill everyone without cause, the game gets watered down and the fun level drops as it becomes more of a hassle than anything. I was thinking, Why not suggest a few changes, like if you attack a person without cause, and they fight back and beat you, when they loot you, you lose 25% of your money, no matter how much you have, this might deter some. or you lose honor and have honor play a much bigger role in the game, low honor gets paid less for activities, and lower payouts in all games, etc.. higher honor enjoys the benefits of discounts and higher payouts. Killing npc's has little effect, but other players would have a much stronger affect. and why not use the honor bar, to color code players, so instead of blue and red, color the honor bar and make the players the shade that they actually are within the honor bar? So you can see clearly this is a low honor person or a high honor person coming and judge for yourself what to expect, you know a low honor person will probably just try to kill you no matter what, and visa versa and have some measure of protection for players that dont want to be on guard every second and have to worry about running to the post office without being murdered. Even in the wild west few places were so bad that people couldnt go outside without the fear of death, and those places that did were quickly changed and turned into legend. Also for those that enjoy this behavior, make the game partly in favor of killing and offer a new challenge system where one player can pick a fight with another but the other player has to accept to take part in the fight, so instead of ambushing people you can dual, or bring a friend and fight as a team, but if you pick that fight and lose, you will pay, just like in life, and closer to how it would have been. If they did something along these lines, pointing your gun at another player who hasnt accepted your challenge and who isnt taking part in some activity along those lines, and you cant target them, like your gang members in SP on missions when you cant shoot them, the same thing. OR if you just arbitrarily kill people you should lose honor, and money and then everything should costs more for you, if this is your behavior. Maybe a few tweaks along the way we can get rid of the stupid killing that serves no purpose at all for anyone, it only satisfies those looking to ruin your game and waste your time. If they have a fun way to still fight yet respect players who dont want to fight, ie: a guy fishing by himself along the river minding his own business. Even in the old west, murder had motive, what is the motive to kill a fisherman with no money or gold or fish? Anyway not complaining about the game, I am enjoying learning the online part, but thought maybe something along these lines can be eventually tweaked a little to make it more fun for those new players starting to gear up who dont need to get killed every 5 minutes for seemingly no reason, taking the fun out of the game, its hard enough to level up, hunt, fish, craft, get a foot hold, without being cut down every few minutes just because you are there. Just my thoughts as I was playing last night observing people. Trying to be constructive, not whining, I just think fundamentally this is a flaw in the game and it would sure be nice to find a way to balance it.
  14. So I am a little confused. When I am playing RDR2O I check the map and sometimes, not very often, it shows no other players, at all, anywhere, then if I left click the D pad and hit players it shows a list of players, sometimes 3 or 4 or as many as will fit other times. Why dont they show on the map? Are they in the game? But my map shows nobody, so I was wondering why that is? Also, I decided to look for a treasure map, not far from my camp, I checked, nobody was around, so I went to the area, as I was looking around, all of a sudden there were many red dots, so I had to fight my way out and escape, I cant tell if those red dots were actual players or npc's attacking, and either way, why arent they showing on the map? Im starting to think both times I was attacked by red dots that they were npc's and not people, they were easy to dispatch and I was able to escape easily both times, nobody really gave chase, so I dunno. They show up on the map after they appear on my mini map, but that is once I am in the middle of the search area and having checked my map. So I just dont understand how to read the map sometimes. The players who have attacked me usually I can tell or see their name so it is clear they are players.
  15. I stumbled upon a huge flock all on the ground, I didnt kwo what they were, or that this was part of the game, so I did shot 6 or so, but most got away, I wasnt ready or on the look out, now since then, ive never seen another one, lol. In case your wondering, I found them in the swamp just north of the strange mans house, there is some water, then swamp land around the train tracks, they were on the grass just in front of that water, I had to wade into the water to collect several of them.
  16. I didnt even try too no, I watched all cutscenes, I dont want a gold medal if it means dropping content, so... I have very few gold medals, lol. Although if you skip cutscenes and use the boat I do think you can make it, the boat makes it so you do not have to hide at all, so as long as you get to your camp fast, do not ride into the camp approach from the south and then go to the boat and just start paddling, you oughta make it with lots of stamina tonics loaded.
  17. I dont think there is a mystery regarding the panoramic map. I think it is just that, a map from where the settlers were on the MT before they froze to death. The map seems to show what you can see from the top, Valentine, to Strawberry and I think Blackwater too, I dont have it in front of me, but I think its just a map that points to the visible towns from the spot that the couple who have the map were when they drew it.
  18. I was going to ask. That rdr2map is great, I keep a laptop next to me on a table so I can see it as I play, so if I am ever stuck and frustrated looking for a certain mt path or cliff etc.. I can just pause and zoom in on the map on my rdr2map, it is very helpful. Ive never played a game where I used a map, or device to assist outside of the game, but this really made the experience better for me, that map is great and if you buy the full version for $5 you can save notes, your progress, decide to show roads or not show found items or not, etc.. very well put together app/program
  19. This one was a glitch, I set up a tent, and all of a sudden Arthur was "on" the tent, rather than "in" it.
  20. the writing is pretty obvious in a couple spots and out of the way in two others. I went and found them all the other day and got the Vampire. I took the vampire all over the place brought him into the police station etc.. nobody cared enough to give me a bounty , but they were freaked out enough to comment on it, lol it was funny, in the end I tried to feed him to a gator, but got eaten by one instead!! lol. Even if you look up the locations and just give your self an idea of the general area of the writings, it is still tough to actually find them, I used rdr2map.com as a reference, I paid the $5 for the ability to add notes and stuff, so if I am watching a video and they find something interesting I want to check out, I can add a note to it and save it, so when I play again I can go have a look and I wont forget where things are, like the Amolite, I havent gotten it yet, but I know where it is.
  21. I did this exact same thing, I could not get the game to generate another, I eventually went back several times to Watsons cabin I think it is, and finally one of the times it spawned. I played three times, the first time at the fence when I was selling stuff I clicked too quickly and accidentally sold it, did the same thing to a meteorite in my first play through. I think I read that if you lose or sell if you can get another by robbing folks on trains, eventually you should get one if you have a request for it in your list, kind of like the thimble, I never saw a thimble in my third play through but in my first. Jack asked me for one, and of course, when I was looting bodies one day I found one, I think what you get when looting bodies has a lot to do with what you need in game. Good luck,
  22. Wow, that sucks man. I had one freeze where the game stuttered and and was like a skipping record, I had to jump up and power down manually to restart the console, (xbox one x) After that, I added a fan blowing on my console and I put two glass candle holders under it so air can get all around the console, and it never did that again. The closest it ever came after adding the fan was while blowing up a caravan or coaches with dynamite and fire the action was so intense my machine slowed way way down and was really laggy, only fire really slows it down. It must be very frustrating, sorry man. As far as cheats, I get it, what fun is it to cheat and save and move through the game, you would miss way too much fun, nothing in the game is so hard it requires a cheat. Cheats can be great fun and for experimenting and exploring but not for the story mode single player game, IMO. Has it gotten any better or have you found a fix for the glitching?
  23. DLC Idea's: 1.) I want to see a younger Dutch meet up with Hosea, narrated by Dutch or maybe a girlfriend of his at the time? and then show how the two of them travelling around found Arthur in NY and take us from then, through Blackwater, with their iteration of the gang and all the stuff Arthur wrote in his journal about Blackwater. How he and Hosea were on a real estate scam and Dutch and Micah were on to this heist, and maybe have it culminate with the incident that set the rdr2 game in motion, the killing of the girl, the loss of the Calender boys, and Jenny, etc..all the time using the same map, with the addition of the northeast, from Annesburg to NYC on the East coast. or 2.) A parallel story, Arthurs life prior to meeting Dutch and Hosea, a young Arthur finding his place in the world. Or a young Hosea, seeing as his story is maybe the longest, but a pre story set up along these lines I think would do the franchise justice.. 3.) a CIVIL WAR DLC,!!! lets see the middle and end of the civil war, then the carpet bagger's and changes in America, slavery, Jim Crow laws, etc.. So many ideas with the Civil war, a slaves perspective, a slave owners perspective, an abolitionist etc.. I also very seriously would love to see a dlc to see the original story re-done, with the new graphics/physics engine, not just patched to play at 4k, but a remake, new fauna, animals, strangers, encounters, etc.. just how rdr2 is now. I would totally 100% gladly buy it again, and play it again, it is like Star Wars adding in the stuff they couldnt do in the original trilogy 20 years later when they could, despite being on the preservationist committee/ association in film . The cost would be less than building a new game and would still appeal to a large audience and make money. IMO Anyway thats what I think I would like to see. either of those ideas. The problem is teh first game is started in 1907 - 1911 I think? And really I think we need to go the other way, 1860's through 1880's, the days of the untamed west. There is a lot they can do moving forward but as a Western, I think we want more of this, gunslinging, and all the things that go with it, maybe even the civil war.
  24. LOL, wtf See I guess thats funny and I can see that happening, I wonder if you dont kill but confront, maybe even fight said person if that would still end in a bounty.
  25. Fair enough, my complaint isnt necessarily people wanting to fight, I just didnt understand a lot about the game including how to protect myself and things werent making sense to me, the people I ran into didnt fight me, they acted friendly followed me to my first ever camp, led my horse away somehow and when I reacted they killed me. I was frustrated as I dint understand how they cold lead my horse after I set it not to allow it, waving at me, but then not talking to me or anything and just riding all over my camp acting foolish, etc.. It was confusing to me. But I have since learned a lot and I know what they were doing and although I think it was crappy to do, I get it. I since have been attacked several times, once by 8 red dots at once, I fought back and killed 5 of them and escaped, it was good fun, I dont mind dying or being killed, I mind being manipulated and taken advantage of when I Was just trying to learn the very basics on my own. Another person thought it was funny to shoot me in the head as I entered my camp so I had to respawn and try again to get back to my camp from a long way away, it was inconvenient but meh, whatever. Anyway I am way past that now, I appreciate your point of view and opinion.
