  1. Id gladly pay to make a few changes, I dont mind keeping my guy, I just want to change a few of his attributes, one really. I didnt know what to think when I started and I made a guy to look like an old minor, over weight, older, grey hair, lot of wisdom/history in his face, and over all I dont mind him, I just thought it was fitting to make him a little over weight and now I want to slim him down a bit.
  2. LOl I cal attest to that.
  3. LOL ouch to start over after 20 or 30 levels hurts, I want to do that now, but I dread starting over uggg, im just gonna stick with this ugly dude I made.
  4. Ok thanks, I would love to delete my guy and make a new one, but I dont want to start over, I just hit level 20 and I am nearly at 25 my goal, to get the off hand holster so I can wield two pistols, / sawed off's etc.. So I guess Im stuck with this portly Murfree looking mf'er
  5. Well to be fair, a few of them, were set ups, that maybe he should have probed and even passed on to make sure. But when a guy in your gang is tipping off the Pinkerton's and teling them when and where you will be, there isnt much you can do.
  6. Yep, I saw a caravan mission I think or maybe horse theft, the game said, go ahead and engage, try to stop them or whatever, so I did, and it was right at the end, so the timer went and I figured ok, cool, back to what I was doing, I was on my way to the butcher when we literally crossed paths, so I figured well im right here, why not?well as soon as it ended, I went to the butcher and then they followed and killed me just as I was done selling my stuff. I asked why and they said, dont kill us in the missions, fair is fair, lol I said um, no you were in the game, the game instructed me to get you, once that mission ended, I walked away, you dont have to hunt me now for playing the game, just move on, but ya know how it is with these butt hurt mental giants. The guy who did this to me, was level 215!!! so he knew very well that I did nothing wrong, simply chose to engage them as they were trying to deliver a stolen horse, Anyway, yeah I dont get it, once the mission ends, get over it and forget it, if you dont want people to interrupt you from the challenge, then dont bother playing, as long as players in the world are given the chance, they will sometimes get involved in what you are doing, and that is part of the game,
  7. Well, I keep forgetting its beta lol and we have to be patient, hopefully these things will get fixed.
  8. I understand that thinking, but in most cases the animals are visible on the mini map I try to put my horse between them so I can walk to the furthest animal and skin it and make my way toward my horse and still see all the paw marks on the map while I go, doing this has been more successful but still sometimes if you turn around for a minute and the paw mark goes off the minimap for even a second, you go back and it is gone, If it is to reduce items on screen it is set a litle to tight if you ask me. At the same time. I use a scope and kill an animal a long way off, it i never see it on my mini map until I approach it, and those dont disappear and that doesnt really line up with the logic about limiting what is on screen, so I dunno, I think its just a little off.
  9. 01.) what level are you currently online? 02.) how long did it take you to get to that level? 03.) what was your strategy to get to that level, did you just play and let the levels come as they did or did you actively work toward leveling up? 04.) what is a typical session like for you now and are you still actively trying to level up or are you satisfied with your level and just playing at this point? I'm curious and I think maybe it will help some new players just getting started to have a litle insight. For example, I am relatively new, 01.) I am level 19 02.) took me 6 or 8 online sessions after the initial introduction of the online game, of a few hours each 03.) My strategy was to hunt/fish mainly to accumulate money for upgrades while leveling up for a while. I wanted to wait to play most of the missions until I have better weapons, horse, and attributes. I worked solely on making money and leveling up with only that in mind, I rarely played any stranger or story missions at all and I took part in the XP bonuses offered for hunting last week. I am actively trying to level up so I can buy a few more things I feel I need to make the most of my player in combat. 04.) A typical session for me is to join, go fishing, max out 10 fish each of 4 or 5 species and then hunt my way to a butcher, now that I have a few other weapons and ability cards, if I am near a hideout Ill clear it, and if your caravan or other missions goes literally right past me, then Ill engage to earn some xp, otherwise I ignore others doing missions. I am looking to rise another 12 or 15 levels, then buy one more item I want, and then I think I will shift my play to joining, and heading straight to story missions and trying all the other missions offered in game. I am almost confident enough to join any mission and feel like I can quickly learn to hold my own, I mostly need fighting experience at this point and only way to get that is to join these events and fight, so... very soon I will be doing just that. I dont know if new players starting this week might find it helpful to understand how others approached the game. A lot has changed so players that are at very high levels may have taken advantage of methods no longer available, but for the most part I think over all this can be a useful resource for a new online player.
  10. Thanks for the reply, I am happy to hear that, I thought it was some goofy decision to make it that way but if it is a glitch then there is hope it will be fixed. Its just annoying.
  11. Thats a great experience G IR U IB, I have had some decent ones, but nothing like that. Good story.
  12. I finally got an invite to the fishing challenge. Last night/ this morning and it was pretty cool, we were taken to Brandywine drop and about 8 players took part. It took several hours of playing for me to get an invite, but it did eventually happen.
  13. Ive been fishing, I stay between just west of Clemmens point and go all the way to Shady belle, in that area there are large mouth, small mouth, lake stergeon, steel head and long nose gar, plus bull head, 2 types of pickerel, rock bass, blue gills etc.. I have been getting 10 each of the bass and steel heads then one stergeon, plus whatever animals I can hunt on the way back and forth and usually it is 130$ a trip to the butcher and I can do two a day in game, or maybe 3 in two days, so 400$ every 3 days in game or so just fishing this area. Its not super fast $$ but it adds up quickly. I found two spots with small mouths, and two spots with large mouths and a few spots with steel heads so I have it down to a science at this point.
  14. So, if Im hunting on horseback, and I come across say a group of wolves, or boars, or deer, and as they run, I manage to kill 3 or 4 of them. I then get off my horse to start skinning them, but often as I get to the second or third, the others are now just gone, like they de-spawned. I dont understand if this is a glitch or the way it is, like animals that arent on your mini map when skinning they just act like they werent there to begin with. It is super annoying when you are hunting to lose 1 or 2 carcasses and skins everytime. Has anyone else noticed this?
  15. So I think each time I join a free roam session and start a game, I am starting over with my horse, it always at some point says, you have achieved level 1 bonding. Why? Why doesnt it remember where you left off and let you build on that? Its kind of annoying, and I feel like my horse and I shouldnt have to start over every time we want to play for a while, What is the reason, does anyone know?
  16. At first it did nothing, as I played more, I think I was able to advance my dead eye ability and so now it is starting to react, when you click it and put the cross hair on a target it paints it then you fire, I personally dislike this version of dead eye, as it wont let you just make one mark, and when hunting can be a pain, but I am so used to not using dead eye for hunting that it doesnt matter. I cleared out a hide out and was also attacked twice by several npc's but in all those fights, I forgot to try the dead eye, lol. Anyway I saw it work, and now I think I know how it works, thank for the replies.
  17. For sure, 100% with you on this. I went back and played it a second time, and tried to find everything I missed the first time, then after that, I was still not satisfied, so I played it a third time, but this time, I played it and found everything as I went, it was awesome! So I would get to a camp, say the first one, Horseshoe over look, immediately go hunting, and sell the stuff to get a few bucks to make a few upgrades at camp and weapons, found a gold bar, to help, then did two missions, the one to unlock the fence and the stables and then off to get the buck antler trinket, once you do that your pelts are more often better, so it is a good way to start. Anyway from there, I would do a mission, then a few side missions, and along the way any stranger missions I encountered, bounties, etc.. Putting the story missions off until I was bored or all caught up, Getting the satchel fully upgraded early on is key so that takes some time and gets you out hunting a lot. By the time I got to chapter 3, I had the full satchel upgraded, my camp maxed out, tons of stuff discovered, 8 or 9 companion requests, most of the carvings, bones, and catchers, a good amount of the legendary fish and animals, etc.. I was so stocked up with stuff, that the rest of the game was really easy and flowed really well, doing things like the Algernon Wasp missions was tough but not when you have that satchel, Anyway, after my third playthrough I feel like I found everything I really enjoyed the play through that time, it was more natural, like what I woudl expect a guy to do, he woudl go hunting, and picking, and then crafting, exploring, searching for treasure, helping out strangers and discovering secrets along the way like serial killers and vampires, etc.. It was awesome! and I am really glad I went back and did it all over again. So, yeah I think most people really felt attached to Arthur and the story in general and it is perfectly natural to feel that way.

    .

Yes, as you go back to the old camp spots, you should hear dialogue from the gang members, like a haunting memory in Johns head. I was able to hear this at both Clemmens point and Horseshoe overlook.
  19. Oh I didnt read it like that at all, I thought it was active that day and moving forward would always be available, well that explains why I havent seen it pop up in all my hours playing yesterday and today.
  20. Are these from the rdr2map ? If so are they pretty consistent online ? I know for single player it was very helpful and did a great job showing you where everything is, I paid the $5 and upgraded mine so I can add notes to my map and keep up with my progress my marking things I have discovered and things I have not. I dont have a cell with me when I play so I used this map on my laptop as a guide of sorts like the companion app but a little different. If you dont have this map, I strongly suggest you get it, its free or you can buy an upgraded version, it really is very helpful in many ways, not just showing you where things are, but tracking progress, marking cave entrances and other anomalies, etc..
  21. you said, "Also, those who attack you will immediately be highlighted as enemies and you will be able to defend yourself via the Hostility system all while still remaining in Defense mode. ....so if you choose to escape, they still will not be able to lock onto you with auto aim." I think that will be kind of fun, IF when a player shoots another player aggressively and gets their red dot, if ANY other defensive players in the map can now shoot this red dot aggressive player without consequence I think that would be great!! Then the hunter becomes the hunted literally and has little escape from it.
  22. Thanks for being so thorough, I actually did read everything I could find, then watched a few videos that broke it all down, its a lot to take in all at once, but yeah it all sounds great to me. I wasnt clear on when this stuff would start. Yesterday I had one incident, and it didnt reflect these changes, so I assumed they havent actually started this yet? Anyway, I am really glad to hear that they are working hard to figure this stuff out.
  23. That cold be, I wasnt really paying attention, it felt like much earlier than that but again, Im sure you are correct and I just wasnt looking at the levels.
  24. Im not sure if you started playing online or not, but I wanted to add to this, Going back to your original question about online being part of the single player game. I have only just started playing online, and I am very low level, 17 I think,. I found that this takes place BEFORE the events of the single player story, so in your online experiences you will run into characters from the single player game and they will give you some dialogue and insight that I thought was really great. For example, in one mission, I went to an orange icon, I think they are stranger missions, not yellow icon, orange. Anyway when I got there it was Sean Mcguire from the game!! he gave me some dialogue and we talked and then he gave me something to do, I really enjoyed seeing him there and listening to how he couldnt find the gang, (Dutch, Arthur, etc..) and the little more he explains to you. so although it is not part of the single player, it is woven in and does feel like an extension of the single player game, it is like you are also in the game at the same time as our outlaw friends and these are the jobs, and missions that you are taking part in, knowing that the gang is most likely living in or around Blackwater getting ready for their heist.
  25. I learned this the hard way myself, but since it is part of the game I figured ok whatever, ill do my best. But I found when I am on and I only see 2 or 3 players and they are across the map, Ill do a few of these and nobody comes around so I was able to do a bunch of these without any interference, the mail delivery is hard without any people stopping you, I still havent been able to deliver all the mail in the time limit.
