I'll see how it works in practice first. I was o.k (ish) with the first implementation of the map as I liked being able to see where everyone was at any time and being able to assess what they were all likely up to and plan my session accordingly. This iteration I have also gotten to be ok with. It's still easy to avoid the obvious hazards although a little more tense traveling the map not knowing quite what's around the corner. More exciting, one might even say. Foolish pride, given my inability to hit a barn door at ten paces, probably means I will leave as is as I have no intention of running/riding/wasting valuable game time trying to escape from scumbag bushwhackers which is the same reason I can't be bothered to "parlay" with said blots on the landscape ð. "Eject disc" works just fine for me for as an anti griefer system for anything I don't deem "fun" in any particular game and that includes being in the virtual company of destructive anti-social nobodies for a moment longer than I absolutely have to ð

The "special" series of lures, as you'll probably know, were specifically for catching the legendary fish in SP. Since those don't as yet exist in MP they don't do anything that the normal river/lake/swamp ones won't. Can't speak for the relative hardiness of each lure but, like you, I have very rarely lost any of them and lost none at all for ages. p.s. Where do you find the number of fish caught?. That's a stat of mine I'd be interested in ðŊ

A search reveals that according to members @HuDawg and @RED_DEADMAN in an earlier thread you will take less general damage with a hat on at lvl 3 as well as blocking one headshot. 3 is more than 1 and more is obviously better. For the $500+$350+$50 I paid it had better be ð

1) lvl 71 I think. 2) Most days for 3 or 4 hours since launch. 3) Took levels as they came initially then got the hots to have a certain horse and ground out A LOT of missions with randoms until I got her. Don't have the stomach just yet to grind another 20 levels worth of the same missions for the explosive ammo which is my next real goal, so I'll happily hunt and fish until then or R* add some other stuff I'm happy to do I guess.

I'll send you a f.r when I get on a little later today Ren.

It seems I am. Joined a posse but can't seem to get a game invite to play with em. O well. Anyone on UK time+ps4 in need of an extra hand for stuff of an evening gimmee a try. Traksta1 is my psn id. Not a "leader" in any way, shape or form but an excellent follower of instructions and always keen to help out where I can. I'm just looking for a change of pace from purely hunting and fishing and to level up a wee bit quicker. Explosive ammo, for self protection, is my goal. I'm Level 70 now if it matters.

1) If you mean the dead eye card "paint it black" or any other for that matter, it will entirely depend on how you play the game as to whether you think the benefits of each card or upgrade to it are worth the ingame cash. 2)All and it is $350 for tier 2 and $500 for tier 3 of any type of card ðĪŠ

Wow!. Did a download to fix stuff (but not the things most mentioned across fora) just break R* online?. Mind boggled.

There are several dead eye cards as well as the various defense/offence typecards. Obviously, their stated buffs and effects get better the higher the tier you pay for. Exact official stats for the various buffs etc are not available anywhere afaik.

The "Special spinner" catches everything and apparently can't be lost now but definitely could be previously. After that a normal river lure will catch (only) the larger fish (Salmon/Trout,/Bass and up) anywhere at all. These two are arguably all you need. The "special River/Lake/Swamp lures" are a different thing altogether and I am pretty certain give no extra benefit online yet as they were intended purely for "legendary" fishing in SP. To buy any of them for cash rather than gold, you must be at the proper rank. Have not lost a lure for quite a while now. Here's hoping, although now I have ranked up it's not a biggy if I do lose one any more. In any case the several bars I had to spend in the early days were well worth it in terms of fishing efficiency.

The 3 to the right of the chosen dead eye card (assuming a rank of 40 or more) are always active if relevant to your situation. i.e If you're on horseback with the damage buff card that allows it, it's active. Lit up at top right of your screen if they are active-active, if you get my drift. Benefit of tier 3 NWO?. A good question for which I have no ready answer.

There are a few "defence" ability cards. L1>Triangle>pick a non dead eye card and "x" on it and you can then scroll through the various defence, offense etc cards with L1 R1 I believe. Hope that helps.

Internet scummery is ubiquitous and an actual real stinking reality that we all have to deal with somehow or other nowadays. You can play different, for example the situations you just described with those "players" would play out much shorter and much worse for the i/s if it were me nonchalantly trying to mosey through. That wouldn't have been the case a few weeks ago before I started to see how things were though, I'll admit. Or, alternatively (my preferred choice) you can just choose not to "play" with them at all and not waste precious moments of your life in the unwelcome company of worthless life sucking nabobs and swap game/session/whatever, They make the most noise and stink around the interwebs but there really isn't that high a percentage of them, Predictably, most are as thick and witless as several planks too and generally easily avoided.

How do I get perfect pelt when hunting.
Traks1 replied to SnailZ321's question in Questions & Answers
Dunno if it will help or is too obvious to state but while aiming the info option R1 will appear and indicate what weapon is required to maintain that pelts condition. Handy as it is not always logical what's best to use. -

Since I am here to answer Pepe, I hope Oz won't mind. It's level 90 mate ð. 84 for explosive slugs. The ten R* gave me as a freebie are being held back for those "special" people that don't know when to mind their own business. -
avoid the bullets by throwing yourself to the ground in PvP mode

As I heard it, one enters a flopping contest with ones enemy until a timing advantage appears. Hopefully a high level flopper will be along shortly to guide you-flop wise. -

Traks1 replied to peppino79's question in Questions & Answers
Best use of the "flop", I find, is for extra shiggles when your char finds himself knee deep in mud. It's said a mud bath is jolly good for the complexion and will get you lots of attention next time you're in town.. -
Surprising me by Jumping out from behind a rock while I'm trying to get the fast travel post to trigger=dead. Guns aimed - how very rude=dead. Bee liners=dead. Turn round to follow me or any semi suspicious movement near me=dead. Riding like a **** and unnecessarily ramming into my hoss=dead. I used to be nice and all and I am still very reticent about shooting first but all player encounters need to be approached as if you are dealing with a crazed 13 yr old who just ate ALL the red smarties it seems. The places I hang out no-one needs to be close enough to me to cause me any anxiety. Just keep moseying along pardner, there's plenty of space without me in it to play in.

While holding L2 (aiming) press "square" and tilt left analogue stick in the direction you wish to dive/flop Pepe. It will temporarily break a "lock on" but you will look a bit of a twonk doing it. ð -
I hope you find someone to help you out soon on XBox bud. It's not that hard to avoid trouble really. Spent yet another almost full real day online yesterday just hunting and fishing and didn't see one blue dot. The red dots were, as usual, entertaining themselves, on the other side of the map exactly where they spawned in. The join game, shoot anything that moves the second you spawn in mindset they have conveniently lighting them up for all to see and easily avoid for all eternity (or that session at least). Also, "EJECT" disc is a quick and easy dismissal for any online interactions you are not comfy with. Takes no time to restart game and leave the rubbish, ignored, in the bin.

No need to upgrade camp/horse at all, ever. Hunt/fish/kill/pick everything the game presents to you and sell at a butchers or in the case of herbs you can't craft with yourself (including those vanilla flowers) at a doctors. Cash will mount up. Best buys are one good repeating rifle and one good shotty. Lancaster and pump imho being the best value for money. The repeater on it's own can cover 90% of all hunting and PvE/PvP requirements in the game and a varmint rifle takes care of almost everything else. I find free roam a pretty "anxious" place to wander about in as a loner but actually don't mind that at all. The few online missions are simple enough to do as well and will level you up very quickly so you can buy that fishing pole and better guns in no time P.S. A good tip to reduce the chances of meeting undesireables is to have yourself spawn in to online as far away from where you really want be as possible, leg it for the nearest fast travel point and then go direct to your camp which you have made certain is placed exactly 1 million miles away from where you were and all those lazy red dots that tend to stay more or less where they spawned in to the game, pew pewing each other ad infintum.

For fun, what's your horse's name/names?
Traks1 replied to Major Dammidge's question in Questions & Answers
Hanging with Japanese themed names for some reason. First 3 were "Horse1/2/3/ in Japanese and my latest and game goal hoss is the silver Turk I named Tachi-Kaze or "sword wind". This is the particular sound a sword makes through the air if swung with proper technique. Seemed quite a dramatic name to me as compared to "horse 4". ð -
I hit "eject disc" and restart until I land somewhere without pew pew pond scum. Life's too short to waste in the company of dorks. Even the parlay thing means giving them more attention than they are worth.
-
Thanks Ozy. a bit more level grinding to go to get the hoss I'm after and it's good to know I don't have to get ripped for yet another saddle.
-
Thanks both. This is for online obviously. Due to age induced silliness I am still not getting quite how it works but will suss it out now I know it's not necessary. Is it all done via stables as one can't have two owned horses out in the world or what?. Apologies for my bad comprehension. Should be made clearer by R* frankly. Daftness and lack of clarity has already resulted in me paying twice as much for an unnecessary saddle than my Ardennes cost.
