It's a daily challenge again today, so I did a quick test. Tried one of the 226 ones first, that didn't work, but one of the 247 ones did the trick. The ones worth 247 have a Collector's item as ingredient. I guess that's the special part.

Yeah, the Free Roam menu can be accessed by pressing L while in Free Roam.
-
I think (from googling) the Free Roam menu can be accessed by tapping left d-pad.
-
Hmm. There's a Camp and Properties option in the Free Roam menu, but I don't think that's how you get the Moonshine shack? Not sure. Even though it was only a week ago, I don't quite remember. I think the option to choose a location for the shack just pops up at the end of the cutscene where you meet Maggie at Emerald Ranch though? Could it be that you don't have 25 gold bars so it didn't appear, maybe? If you do have the 25 gold, maybe something worth trying is launching the game with the Moonshiner option in the main menu? (Mainly a guessing post, sorry.)

Yeah, what Freak said. I don't remember which I did, think it was one worth 226ish, and that did the trick.

I just checked. Max positive honor and can replay all five, including that one.

**Animal Spawn Issue Discussion** (Since Summer and Recent Updates)
flu007 replied to Jimblob's topic in Troubleshooting
One potential (admittedly somewhat cumbersome) workaround for those with no animals to get at least the 6 large carcasses and 3 predator daily challenges done might be through resupply missions. The "hunt an animal and trade for supplies" missions should spawn one of said animal somewhere in the area, and the "rival traders gone missing" missions spawn 3 predators (usually wolves, but depending on location it could also be cougars.) If you put your camp in a location where you get these kinds of missions a lot, and then keep failing the resupply mission over and over... Or go watch some Netflix until Rockstar sorts this out, perhaps that's the more sensible suggestion, heh. -
If you're talking about the "three sheriff" missions, I only did one of those early on and then ignored the story missions. I only did the 3rd of the three sheriff missions the other day at level 140ish, when there was a daily challenge to complete a story mission. I have yet to continue with the rest of the story. I wish there was an option to do them solo.

Yes, on PC as well. In fact, I think all the role specific events (Trade Route, Salvage, Condor Egg, Day of Reckoning, and Manhunt) have pvp disabled. That doesn't mean they're completely idiot-free. In Day of Reckoning, for instance, people can just wait for other people to tie up a bounty and then pick them up first, or kill your bounty as you're tying them up, so they're worth less points, but that has only happened a few times, usually it's fine.
-
No need to level up for a camp. May need to get through a few initial story missions, don't quite remember, but after that it costs just 2 dollars to set up a camp (and every time you move it) and 1 dollar per game day to maintain it. As for no winter clothing, it's not too bad, just need to eat a bit more often to refill your health core.

Well, now that there's snow everywhere, it actually makes sense that there are barely any animals around. /conspiracy hat

1. I don't know much about that, but there's a recent topic in the PC section of the forum with some opinions. (I'd link but am on tablet.) 2. I don't have the bounty wagon yet either, so someone more experienced can fill in some blanks or correct me, but here's what I know. The bounty wagon is stored in your Stable, which you can access through the Free Roam menu (or at an actual stable.) In that menu you can set which your active horse or wagon is. You can only have one active at a time. So if you take out the wagon, you can't have a horse out as well. What you can do is drive to the destination on your horse, dismiss it, then call for the wagon. It will be delivered to your location or at least to a road near it. Then you take it from there. It won't come to you if you whistle, like your horse. It can be destroyed, either by crashing it or, I assume, by enemies. I also assume you can buy insurance for it. I'm level 13 bounty hunter and also play solo, so haven't gotten it yet either. Being unable to have both horse and wagon out at the same time is the main reason, doesn't seem very convenient. I'll likely have a go at it at some point, but I suspect it may join my hunting wagon in collecting dust in the stable.
-
I've been doing them "as intended" for now, and don't think I've lost any bottles to them yet. Then again, I only had to fight them (during a delivery) maybe five times. Most of the time they either wave me straight through, or they make me stop, check the wagon, and then wave me through. When they do turn hostile, I just jump off the wagon immediately and run some distance away before engaging them with a rifle or repeater. So far that seems to work to keep the wagon out of the line of fire, as most of them are pretty agressive and try to rush you, they don't linger near the wagon.

Well, there have been several issues with servers, missions getting stuck at loading etc, since the new update. So it's probably related to that. If it happens consistently, sending in a support ticket is probably your best bet. That said, the Moonshine shack costs 25 gold. I wouldn't think not having enough gold would cause you to get stuck on the load screen... but who knows.
-
Holding TAB and then pressing R doesn't work?
-
Quick follow-up: happened again a bit ago, got into the shack, no Maggie, Marcel or patrons. So I sighed, and did a little pitstop, got a drink etc. When I came back to the pc a few minutes later they were there, all normal. So I guess maybe it's more of a lag/crappy server issue than a bug.
-
I would say it's a bug or server issue or whatever, not intentional, since animal spawns have been generally fine for me (on PC.) Some very iffy stretches the first day of the update, but since then I've had no major issues with animal spawns.
-
Yeah, definitely do the Trade Route event, it's a lot of fun. Basically, you and a bunch of other players work together to defend a train from non-player enemies who attack it along the route. You earn however many goods survive at the end, up to 18.
-
Small correction: you get the 2.5 multiplier after 21 days. (1.5x for 7 days, 2x for 14 days, 2.5x for 21 days, then a Treasure map at 28 days.) I'm on day 29 myself. It's how I keep track how long I've been playing.
-
The way to report in game is through the Players list in the Free Roam menu (L key.) There's a report button when you select a player, and you can type a little bit of info.
-
Small tip though. Don't fill it up completely until after you've done a resupply mission, as that gives you some free materials. (Usually 5 or 20.)

Anyone else having issue with Rock* servers today?
flu007 replied to CaptainWildMan's topic in Red Dead Online
Since the update, and since Sunday in particular, I've been getting many more "disconnected because of a fault at Rockstar servers" or whatever it says. I used to get that maybe once or twice a day tops, and not nearly every day, but it's about ten times as often the last few days. Logging in has been generally fine, but there have been a few times where it took a chunk longer than normal, and also a few times where I got in and got the abovementioned disconnect error within 15 or 20 seconds. I'm on pc, by the way. -
Mine is near Manzanita. And on PC. Fixed now though. Try relogging perhaps. I went to do something else, since I figured the disconnect lost me the batch, but I couldn't check because Maggie and Marcel were not there. But then after a Trade Route I got the moonshine ready popup, so I went back, all normal now, and at least got the daily done. Yup, same here normally. Well, haven't had Marcel at the bar yet. But full house normally. But this was another glitch where there was no Maggie, Marcel or patrons at all, only the band but couldn't make them play music.
-
Same here. Just now. And this was after getting disconnected during a delivery. Several other glitches earlier. I'm already doing no more than what's needed for the dailies, but today I think I'm even going to pass on that.

Drive wagons in CINEMATIC view autopilot mode.
flu007 replied to Darconios's topic in Red Dead Online
Not quite - it's cinematic mode. Which you get - on PC at least - by holding down the same button you use to switch views (V) for several seconds. If you do this with a waypoint set, while on the route and moving, your horse or wagon drives itself to the destination. Never done it with a wagon, but with a horse you don't even have to hold the forward button, it's hands free. Best to keep an eye on it though, horse not very smart. One time it bumped straight into the side of a train that was stopped at a station.
