    Far Cry 5

Had a lot of fun with the arcade editor in the last few days. There are some nice published maps already but not a lot of them have the same quality that you might expect however being able to download them and then tweak them (also learn about the editor in the process) has kept me entertained for longer than I care to admit.
  2. Looking pretty good from the reviews and some of the gameplay I've seen from he reviews. I do hope the combat picks up a bit more from what I've seen but that Leviathan Axe looks sweeeeeeeet!!!

    Far Cry 5

The story was better in 3 in my opinion but the story in here isn't all bad. I felt the progress through each area (you essentially complete three chunks of the larger map in any order you want to) was just too fast though especially when I was just starting to have fun in the area. Multiple endings too so make a backup of your save game when you're presented with a choice so that you can try the other choice out afterwards without having to replay! Going to replay it again shortly but hopefully with a trainer that can stop/pause the progress through each area so that I can just go mad and then when I'm ready mark the area as "ready to meet the final challenge", would love for that to actually be a standard game option together with a new game + or something.
  4. I know it may be frowned upon but at least we also have rpcs3 in development...so PC not out of the running yet for a non-streamed version. I like that Microsoft has gone this route with backwards compatibility, I may need to seriously consider their console in favour of the PS4 when the time comes later this year.
  5. Yeah I like the sound of that, smaller extra story chunks or map additions that can even be split across multiplayer and single-player content.
  6. I'd prefer more focus on single-player and that might be a better option for them in the long run (while still making cash from online). I'd be more than willing to pay for an expansion if the main game itself is as good as I'm sure it's going to be so why don't they listen? Online versus what GTA V is doing currently I can only guess about but I'd reckon they'd need something extra sweet to to make online pounce and pull people online. Also since I won't have online available (I refuse to pay for a subscription service just to get to play online modes even if they push extra free content with it that I'll most likely never use) it'll be a null feature for me anyway until it (if ever) releases on PC.
  7. Hey friend, welcome to the forums! It's like I'm looking into a mirror...
  8. A house boat would be pretty cool if you could save, change outfits, etc. plus sail it along a river and keep it wherever it was last moved to when you saved. I can't say fishing has ever really been something I want to do in most of the games I play but as a side activity I guess it can't hurt for those interested it in (I'll probably give it a bash in Far Cry 5 just for kicks!).
  9. Does Nintendo ever pay for console exclusive stuff (even if just timed)? Would probably bring in quite a few sales if they did release something extra special and if they released the game at the same time or at least close enough to the other console releases. Would like to know how L.A. Noire has faired so far on the switch in terms of sales.
  10. Not sure how it is these days but I know that when I was buying console games I'd make sure that I really wanted the game and I generally bought it to keep it and not just play through and then move on. For PC gaming I tend to go back to quite a few older games more often than I'd like to admit, just playing Alice: Madness Returns yet again as an example (really some beautiful environments in the game). It isn't just on PC though - I also play some of my older (PS3) games through again like The Last of Us and the God of War series. Funny enough I use my PC to play some of my older PS2 games (so yes, emulation but I still own the original so screw them) because most of them don't work on my PS3 (my favourites are SSX Tricky and SSX 3).
  11. Yeah to be honest I still prefer shadowplay and just recording my own personal clips. We didn't really have a choice in AC:Origins when it came to sharing (because I'd choose not to!)
  12. Either way since it's on console initially as a "platform" exclusive (I'm sure PC/Switch will also get releases at some point) I'll take a physical copy over digital for now. It's funny because they're also cheaper than the digital copy 9 times out of 10 when buying a physical copy locally rather than from the PSN store (like buying games from almost anywhere other than Steam if you're buying PC games lol - WTF is up with that?).
  13. Why not? Sure the surface above will be scenic but why not allow a bit of spelunking for those of us that are keen? I'm just kidding around though because I know we'll get something special. As much as I enjoyed AC:Origins I just felt it was still too hollow and I'm sure RDR2 will deliver something more in depth even if it doesn't include mines and/or caves (please make it so devvies, PLEASE!).
  14. Does any information from these investor calls get withheld from the public? I'm guessing probably not but I'm not clued up on these things at all. My guess would be they were showed and/or told one or more things that made them quite okay with the delay or they already know that the sharkies are earning enough cash to keep them happy without worrying.
  15. I think the difference all comes down to your connection speed. Currently I have a piss poor ADSL connection that only syncs at 2.3 Mbps (it's a 4Mbps line but I'm too far away from the "exchange" to get that speed). I have a 4G (LTE) phone that can reach up to 18Mbps however this costs me way more than the copper line. It took me days to download GTA V on PC when I bought the digital copy. Now we've just been told that one fibre provider is finally live in our area (which I've signed up for) however that'll still take up to three months to get it installed and active (and the equivalent price when compared to the ADSL line will give us a 20/20 connection, much closer to the viable option of actually purchasing games digitally). Here is a screenie that I captured back when I was first downloading GTA V (the download speed would never exceed 300KB/s):
  16. That's the history of games from Rockstar in general, sadly. They're almost always guaranteed to delay an up coming game that has been announced. Some examples quoted from this article. Personally I don't mind to much but I'd still prefer that they not announce anything at all until they're closer to the marketing phase and hopefully at least nearing completion of the development (so within a year or so of actual release). Give teasers and information drips without any time frames - all cool, but mention a possible release window that will inevitably get missed (and most likely multiple times as we've seen with RDR2) just kind of makes us a little more numb to the eventual release.

  18. I'd love to have more maze-like mines to traverse myself especially if they're filled with secrets all over. I was hoping for more from AC: Origins when exploring the pyramids but sadly they were pretty disappointing for me personally (I preferred the tombs from AC2). Hoping for it but not counting on it
  19. Haha! Sounds pretty rich (and obviously biased) coming from EA just based on the recent controversy. Perhaps the devs wanted to do one thing but I'm pretty sure the publisher had other ideas...
  20. Damn...I'd not been following this at all (last I played was III).
  21. I want to get onto a river boat for a poker tournament where: the stakes are high and the women are pretty, the drinks are free and the competitors are gritty! Hoping they don't screw the single-player "games" - I like the idea of using only in-game earned money that can't be bought with real money however that might mean that players have separate wallets or something similar.
  22. Are you going to buy a physical copy or digital? Also have you decided on which console you're going to get it on? I was planning on taking leave myself but with my crappy download speed I'll only be able to do so if I get a physical copy. Of course I need to also actually buy a console lol - I wonder if they'll have themed consoles for RDR2.
  23. I never did like using the phone in GTA V myself but it worked and I used it a few times. I'd really like a them to include a photo mode that is similar to Assassin's Creed: Origins.
  24. Quite keen to see what they come up with especially around pre-order bonuses. In GTA V I think we got the blimp but I can't remember what else might have come with it. Maybe we'll get an extra special tent
  25. Yeah I think we all knew there was another delay coming with the lack of information but at least we have a date now. Will be interesting to see what other games try and release at around the same time.
