Would be nice if they could at least include an option that allows one to get back into something that takes so long to prepare for and get started with. Not sure if they already have something in place for crews/friend groups, etc. They could pause (optionally set by an organizer(s)) the event for a minute or two to allow the kicked player(s) to get back in and then resume.

iPhone 8 : Borrow (I've not tried an apple device in a long time) Xbox One : Buy (I'd go for the X though, should still be within range?) New Laptop : Sell (I have two for work already and prefer gaming on my trusty desktop plus a $600 laptop probably isn't going to be very good for gaming) My items (with an approximate value of around $500): Camera (e.g. 20+ megapixel beast) Smart watch 55" or similar sized 4k Smart TV

Online Store Leaks Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Date & Delay
Jamesie replied to NewsBot's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Feels like we've been waiting for so long anyway that an extra month or three (let's hope it's not the latter) wouldn't be that hard to take (just not OUR spring because that'd make it friekin' September). -
I'd also love a PC version but I'd even accept a console version with mouse and keyboard support at least for the shooting, I'm just useless with the thumbsticks and I hate the idea of having to rely on auto-aim or aim "locks" of some kind. Lately with GTA V I've been really loving the driving with the controller and the shooting with the keyboard, it really is well done and I'd love something similar in RDR2 even if it does stay exclusive to consoles.

I do expect we'll see something special. I think the X and Pro will obviously run at higher resolutions but also with better frame rates (even for those poor shmucks like myself who don't own 4k displays). Either way I think RDR2 is going to be a blessing when compared to the PS3 version of the game. I've been trying to replay it recently after playing a lot of GTA V on my PC and while it still looks awesome (the scenery and environments in many areas were just spot on) the low resolution and horrible frame rates sort of killed it a bit for me.

You think they will improve the weather system?
Jamesie replied to GatoNegro's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Hoping they do give it a bit of an upgrade. Heavy dust storms that limit visibility could be nice in certain scenarios to make it easier to sneak into certain areas but also more dangerous when you don't know where everyone else is due to limited visibility. I expect we may get something similar with heavy snow but maybe they mix it up. -
Agreed. I would be busy with something random (like achieve the highest jump or something) in a session when the next thing I knew I'd been booted out "into my own session" for some reason. These service "disconnects" are primarily what made me stop even bothering with the online mode (you should have seen the lag with actual group game modes lol).

Just looked now myself and it looks like a BS site, listing system requirements for RDR2 on PC already when as you've said it hasn't even been announced for PC yet.

Red Dead Redemption 2's Double-Action Revolver
Jamesie replied to Archbell's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
That is pretty nice of them to do, think I might give it a bash this week. Some more info from a post on gtaforums (you should get an in-game mail to trigger it): -
Welcome to the forums! Some of that may be viable (fishing) but I very much doubt a lot of it (especially the UFO bits). I also don't see RDR2 including "work" or "grinding" related activities such as mining but at the same time if you every told me I was going to be able to fish in a Far Cry 5 game then I probably would have told you where to get off.
-
It has so much potential to really attract players that enjoy the world and the adventures that the world could bring (just thinking back to what could have been done in RDR) but I think surely our biggest fear has to be that it will be littered with grinding and some sort of real cash for shortcut card system again. Now if I were to put myself into their shoes I would say "yeah, that will please investors" because at the end of the day it's all about money but I still also can't help but think that there has to be some sort of middle ground to keep those "once in a while" online gamers a bit more interested without making it all about having to grind and grind and grind even more if we're too cheap.
-
Yeah I'd be up for a "checkout" type of system where I can give my friend/family a code that allows them to play the game for a set period where it then expires.
-
Going to be a sad day when they do go with pure digital releases especially as far as console games are concerned (no more resale value or just letting your friends/family have a play through with your copy).
-
Agreed on moving to a purely digital marketplace would make buying console games a bit more difficult. At least now we can buy a game and then re-sell it if we don't want to keep it but with a digital only copy they'd have to make them cheaper for me personally.

PS4 technical issues...should I switch to XBOX?
Jamesie replied to Jackthestripper's topic in Off-Topic
Also does it beep/does the light come on when you try and switch it on? Also when on does it do anything if you try and press the eject button? -
PS4 technical issues...should I switch to XBOX?
Jamesie replied to Jackthestripper's topic in Off-Topic
Damn that sux. Having lost my original Phat PS3 to the YLOD it made buying newer consoles a bit harder but I did end up buying a superslim replacement. I guess having to pay the $100 is still cheaper than having to buy a new console or switch over to an Xbox especially if you lost any games you already have then on PS4. At the same time though would they give you some kind of additional warranty on the repair? -
How much will you play RDR2 the first week?
Jamesie replied to ZLion's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Possibly not as much as I would want to but probably more than I should! Sleep will be lowest priority during that week though. I'd put in for leave but knowing how many times our local retailers have screwed up releases and have them come a few days later than expected I'll rather play it safe this time around. I could go digital but that would also take days to download so I'm hoping for a physical release. -
I was told that exercise helps with your decision making. It’s true - after going to the gym earlier I’ve decided I’m never going again

Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Date Voting

It's true and I hope it's accurate. I guess time will tell and here's hoping! I wouldn't bet money on it though just yet... -
Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Date Voting
Jamesie replied to Alborghetti's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I think this could also be a placeholder and here is why: They're expected to release the game in Q2 of 2018 which starts on the 1st of April so sounds like a placeholder date to me. Secondly the 1st of April 2018 is a Sunday and I don't see them releasing it on a Sunday lol. Would be nice of course having it sooner rather than later.
