I'm not sure, sorry. All I know is that there are a mix of missable encounters and respawn ones.

Some are time sensitive, like the house builders, and won't come back. Others will respawn.

I have often suspected that the game 'knows' what stage you are on with quests/challenegscollectibles etc, and when you are hunting using eagle eye, bow etc, and adjusts accordingly.

I'm pretty sure the chapter 5 animals are not necessary for 100% completion achievement (even the guidebook doesn't go into detail about the animals in chapter 5), though are for every compendium box to be filled (I think). It is virtually impossible, though, given the constraints on chp 5 to study, track and skin every available 'extra' animal - there's a fair few (not at all listed in official guide), some of which only seem to spawn in a single location at random and where you are guaranteed to die trying to get to them. Some folk on the to internet have spent 5+ hours trying to get them all and even then abandoned it as too hard and grindy.

Hmmmm.... then I'm sorry, I have no other suggestions :( If it doesn't unlock after walking around it a bit (sometimes you have to stand in the exact location) I have no idea why it isnt updating for you.

I think all the optional story missions and stranger quests are in the official guide. Most, though not all, of the stranger interactions and special interest sites are listed too. There are many Easter eggs, some special sites, and a few stranger interactions which aren't. I don't think it talks about alternative endings. But it's a good place to start - I've found it invaluable in trying to hit every possible thing (although I don't think it possible I need a single run).

True. This is one reason I've moved from free roam to the story now. I now want to focus on getting through the story missions.

The gambling challenges are extremely frustrating. Indeed, many of the challenges across the board are. R* is messing with us You have to REALLY want to get them done to do them - the time, luck and frustration required for some is stupid. I've done the gambling ones, but barely scratched the surface of the others - just cant be bothered too much yet. Sooo many other things to do!

Amazingly interesting find No idea what they are - never seen any reports on this. Maybe you're the first? I assume you've tried shooting surrounding boards? Or maybe trying to blow them out with dynamite? Let us know what, if anything, you find out. Also, does this need a spoiler tag? Not sure.

If you get the reinorced item sets from one completing one challenge you get an extra tank, it depends upon which challenge as to which tank (so horseman is health). You need threes relevant sets for the next tank (so health is horseman, sharpshooter and weapons expert).

I believe that you also get a small material reward if you do all the camp chores in a day. some chores dots icons dont show up unless you are basically on top of them (like the water bucket).

Yes. They cap at level 8, and only challenge completion (with unlocked equipment) can push them to 9 and 10.

Cheers, truth. In the Social Club, if signed up, it keeps stats of gang members killed, which is as close as body count as you can get, I guess.
