Plus everyone is forgetting that the 25 year olds playing games in 2008 are now 35. I'll be playing games until I'm in the ground.

Digital version of the game with the collectors editions
Benjo replied to L3G0SP1D3R's topic in Red Dead Online
Na, pretty sure R$ would have seen this post from L3G0SP1D3R and thought, oh shit, need to make a digital collector's version ASAP -
Playing as someone else other than Arthur?

Maybe theres a choice - kill John and continue playing as Arthur or kill arthur and continue playing as John. -
Ehhhhh fishing will be part of SP so it will automatically be available online. This is the way that this works.

Looking forward to not being able to get into an online lobby for a week after it launches due to all the kids standing on each other's heads to get a game. I'll likely avoid the frustration and come to online a month after it launches.

Gambling In Red Dead Online – How Will It Work With Microtransactions?
Benjo replied to NewsBot's topic in Red Dead Online
Gambling is illegal in a lot of countries, so the game would be banned. Also there are age limits on gambling in most countries. Plus there's the responsibility factor - gambling companies are often liable for gambling addicts if there are no proper support avenues in place. It's a very complicated and dangerous area. One option is they will have two forms of currency - cash and (something like) gold bars. Cash you can't buy with real money, and you can gamble. Gold bars you can buy with real money, which you can't gamble. Either that or they'll just do what they did in GTA where gambling is cut out completely for online. I imagine this will be what they will do - why would they allow players to make big money, potentially losing them sales on their shark cards? Not a good idea. -
Not sure why people are talking about chargeable DLC. GTAO has proved a solid business model in free DLC and chargeable shark cards - they won't change this approach.

Would be cool for the nevelty value but I'd use it once and never use it again.

When you guys think we will see an open Beta going?
Benjo replied to SNAK3S's topic in Red Dead Online
This 100%. If you think anything different, you don't know R$'s release cycle. -
The persistence is what excites me. Losing your hat in a firefight and then having to go back later to fetch it.

In GTAO they screwed the economy by understimating what people would earn, so they had to compensate by making even the crappiest of cars $1m+. I expect they will anticipate this better in RDRO but there's still the potential for it to get out of hand in the future.

It will be heists.

OK.

Only info I've seen is here which looks legit but it's unconfirmed.

For me this one video has hyped the game more than the three trailers combined
-
The fact he's not in RDR1 would hint that Arthur dies in this one. I say hint because he could have died in between RDR2 and RDR1.
-
RDR1: John Marston dies. You continue to play as Jack. RDR2: Arthur Morgan Dies. You continue to play as John Marston.

Holy shit

It will be the same as all other R$ games, albeit (I expect) with an open map like GTA 5. What I mean is, unskippable cutscenes, open new characters who will give you missions which you can choose whether and when to do, etc etc. Highly doubt it will be like FC5, I mean, why would they change their model now?

Red dead redemption Soundtrack [Full album]
Benjo replied to RDR2CLIPS's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Here it is as MP3 download -
I guess I just never like R$ trailer 3's. I remember back when GTA4 was due out — trailer 1, a 30 sec glimpse into the world, I was like "OMG". Trailer 2, which was longer and a bit more reveal on the story and gameplay, I was like "oooh, exciting". Then trailer 3, which was just a mad, difficult to follow barrage of a million snippets of the story interspersed with people getting beaten up and shot, I was like "uh, right, too much". Maybe just me. I've never been that into story mode, doing R$ missions just to either open the map or unlock shit. I much prefer to make my own stories around the map, so this trailer, which follows the exact same format as all the R$ trailers, for me, is just a bit disappointing. Although visually it looks absolutely incredible.

Meh.
