Keep an eye out for the PS conference at E3
Benjo replied to Anc1entC0re's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Have R$ ever showing ANYTHING at E3? -
I'll just leave this here

There are quite a lot of blogs etc talking about the science behind it all, you should read it - it's interesting. Like the bullets and how they can't kill the hosts etc. It's all really well thought out and feasible (with future tech). There are supposedly 2000 hosts, and if 20 get killed per day then it's realistic to think that their teams could repair them and get them back out quickly enough. Unfortunately not on netflix but you can download it "via other means" if you know what I mean.

I very rarely visited mexico, aside from the odd bit of escapism. I much prefer fields.

What do you guys think of the new screenshots?
Benjo replied to NewsBot's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Nice spot, but I'd say it was more likely a blacksmiths or something. Certainly possible though! -
Where's my million

They must have read my thread about robbing buildings and decided to spend the extra time putting it in.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed to Spring 2018 - Official
Benjo replied to Lonestar's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Annoying. It wasn't that long ago when they gave us a release date of Fall 2017 - why not wait a month and give us a more accurate release date instead of saying "This is when it will be released! ... Actually na this is when it will be released." Seems like a bit of a jerk move. -
It's HIGHLY doubtful that JM will be a playable character.

Is Rob Wiethoff returning for John's character?
Benjo replied to WhiteWolf96's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Nothing concrete as yet I guess but as it's a prequel, and with all the clues on twitter etc, plus the performance of Rob Wiethoff as Marston in the first one, it's 100% he will feature. -

Yup. -
Judging by the trailer I can't say I agree

Sounds like FarCry Primal

I would put $100 on it coming out in Q1 or Q2 2018. Can't see it being delayed for a whole year, but I would put a million on it not being released this year.

Thoughts on 3 protagonists in RDR2 like GTAV?
Benjo replied to Hazed0NE's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I like the 3 protags in GTA5, mainly because they all have different styles. If I want to go on a rampage I use Trevor, driving I use Franklyn etc. If they were to have changeable characters in RDR2, for me they would have to have very different personalities. Having different protags also helps break up the monotony of a long storyline, something R* often needs due to their standard "talk to this contact on your map, ride to this place, watch cut scene, ride here still taking, kill lots of people, leave the area" type of missions. -
Even though there were some accessible interiors in RDR1 there were still very few. The houses outside BlackWater for example, just boxes with window images on the outside. The house at the MacFarlane ranch, most of the buildings in Armadillo. The only modelled interiors are functional - ie doctors, shops, places where you can play poker. Granted, there wouldn't be much point in having an accessible house if there were no function inside it (ie you couldn't really do anything) which is why the suggestion of being able to loot places you break into would work for this. Again, GTA5 interiors were only modelled if they were functional. I'd estimate that 95% of the buildings on the map had no interiors, and those that did either had functions (shops, safehouses etc) or were used as part of missions. Even then, those that were solely used for missions are closed off and can only be accessed via a mod.

In RDR1 hunting was a bit boring. You basically just go to an area and if you see an animal you shoot it then skin it. In FarCry Primal this is more advanced. It's harder to hunt animals, but you have a hunter vision which helps you track them, which balances out the difficulty. If you shoot an animal and wound it, it runs off and leaves a blood trail which you can follow. If there is a rare type of animal then it leaves a certain scent which you can track until you find it. To add to that you can take a form of medicine which masks your scent, allowing you to approach the animal much closer giving you more chance of killing it. I would like to see a more advanced hunting mechanism in RDR2, which emulates real life hunting more. Stealth, maybe even wind direction etc could affect how you hunt, and increasing your skill levels could allow you to get closer to the animals just through practise. Just a thought. It would add to the playability, as part of FarCry Primal is hunting all the different and rare types of animals, which is demanding yet enjoyable. Some are harder than others. Thoughts?
