What is the definition of a griefer? Don't answer as you already did although you are trying to use your comment as if you were defending yourself. When they try me, I usually go after them and put pressure on them for like 30 minutes straight by killing them every time they respawn until they either leave the server, or I decided that they had enough. Yes, you did defend yourself but went on for another 30 minutes straight of what exactly? If said player shot you once...good for him, he keeps shooting you for 30 minutes he is a griefer. Now put the shoe on the other foot....what is he telling others about what you did? He is saying that he shot you and then you came back and griefed him for 30 minutes. I am not saying they should be allowed to grief you but your reaction to him is the same thing he was doing to you - ruining his gaming experience.

How is this becoming a lawman? When they try me, I usually go after them and put pressure on them for like 30 minutes straight by killing them every time they respawn until they either leave the server, or I decided that they had enough.

So you essentially become a griefer.
-
Did you really say that?

Online Mode Is An Unskilled Broken Mess.

I read a few times players want to play THEIR way....well griefers want to play their way, right? -
Which are you mostly playing right now?

Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2. Metro Exodus and The Golf Club 2019. -
A very very good hunting game and it is multiplayer also... The Hunter Call of the Wild. Don't get me started on how many very good fishing games there are.

Decaying playing base maybe a blessing in disguise

I have entered many betas and never did I spend real money on anything in those betas. Those that have, I ask why? -
But there are so many players that want it to be just that.

My comment was in reply to the thread title. As time passes, more and more players will stop playing until new material is released. That is how open betas work. I prefer closed betas as the people selected for those actually work at "fixing" the game not playing the game. -

Well it is a beta is it not? -
Hasn't been released...it is a beta and most betas are boring.

The only way to stop griefers is to punish them so severely they won't want to kill another. Then the game will be a hunting fishing herb collecting love fest that even your kids can join in on. I am not a griefer fan so don't come down on me but there is no easy way to stop these types of players. I think R should make it so that when you enter the online portion of the game you get to select a path that you want to travel. Bad guy versus good guy not hunter/fisher versus griefers. Bad guy route you will be heavily penalized for indiscriminate killing and good guy given "something" for being a bounty hunter/lawman. As for the hunting fishing part of the game...how many westerns have you watched or read where that was the favorite past time? Every western is good versus evil not let's go have a fishing competition. If any of you can share a title of any movie book where there is no evil, let us know so we can be sure to read it. Imagine you and your gang robbing stages and banks and splitting the loot but then imagine when the White Hat Society posse is hot on your trail....just like a real good western. What the heck was the main story in story mode? Think hard, it was not recreational past times.

Why is there an Epilogue to the story mode What does one do in the Epilogue? Think hard about those 2 questions and you get your passive mode some of you want. I seriously can't wrap my head around this game being played online where I do the EXACT same thing I am doing in story mode. What fun is there in watching a fellow player catch fish or hunt in an online shooting game. This is NOT Simcity. If they make it into that type of game, they will lose customers because i guarantee NOBODY would buy into online play if it were all sweet and cushy. Sure you want balance, then hopefully R will make a NO guns allowed for killing humans server and you all can populate that ONE server because there doesn't seem to be a MASSIVE amount of players biatching about the gameplay.
-
With all the complaints about griefers attacking hunters/fishers, hopefully they can put something ingame that blocks others from engaging you while you are fishing/hunting or this will be a huge clusterfudge.

Ask yourselves this...what made outlaws of the Wild West ...well, outlaws? Was it the fact they fished and hunted and picked up horseshit in barns? If there were NO killing (I know nobody has asked for that but you have when you think about it) what would this game be? It would be RED DEAD on launch. How many lobbies are overflowing with players on hunting/fishing games? What next, you want to build a city of your own and micromanage it and watch it thrive without any bad guys trying to stop you? Call it Red Dead Simcity. How much hunting/fishing did any of you do in the story mode? Why have it continue into online? I play the Golf Club 2019 and not once has anyone ever asked for us to be able to fish in all the bodies of water or hunt those beautiful elk chewing up the greens.

This irks me, why did we learn how to tame horses in Story mode but yet can't do anything with horses online. Wasn't horse thievery a huge thing in most westerns/
-
Not sure if R is leaning towards more story or online play. I would venture to say that it is online BUT, a NEW version of RD3 could possibly bring all those scenarios to fruition.
-
I can honestly say that i have watched well over 100 western style movies, read many more books than that and have even researched the way of life in the Wild West for a school paper, yet, I cannot remember any one person who went hunting and had to bring a cart with them to load all their kills. As for the open world, the only map I did not have all open, well before I finished the game (but not the Epilogue) was New Austin
-
I ask why one would want to put an animal on a cart?
-
Would be a nice reason to play online...good idea.

Red Dead Online Generating Less Revenue Than GTA Online
Cliffs replied to NewsBot's topic in Red Dead Online
Exactly. I know R has said no reset but with all the complaints from those who have a high level about content in game, what will there be for them to keep playing upon full release if they are "gods" amongst us lowly cowboys. -

Maybe because it is a beta?
