Qu3ster
Does this mean we will be seeing a more beefed up version of GTA V online (under a different setting of course) or something entirely different? I read the article on the blog end of the site talking about this and I find it all interesting. Like things can go very wrong if they don't do something to keep long term fans around. They may end up with a player base of underagers and trolls.
riptide87
I would imagine that if they do mess it up, we will end up with one of the most disappointing things Rockstar ever released and IF this will be the new standard, they will lose a lot of supporters. Heck, even the trolls and kids would pack on to another game if it was bad enough.

I mean no matter what they do, new or old, it has to be solid or people will start turning their backs on them. I seen a lot of people walk away from Rockstar all together over GTA V issues in game and online. I guess some people were losing game saves and others weren't able to go online at all. Hazed0NE
I am not sure what their game plan is and when I read this I was honestly a bit confused. Not what you said, but what they said and what was said about this. I feel like they aren't going to change THAT much from GTA V. I think maybe making it better tuned for the old west and fixing a few issues, RDR2 will be solid.
bluntTR4P
The new standard can mean so many different things and since we really know next to nothing about the game, it is hard to say what they even mean. I feel like whatever they do will be groundbreaking. I just have a feeling.
redscrew
I'm guessing they will just be doing new things that will set the games of the past apart from the games of the future. Things like 4K graphics, maybe better physics and sounds, just things like that that we will be seeing all games improve in.

I can't see it happening at all.
Looney Dan
The more I am thinking about things, the more I can see what they mean. When you consider they used to pump out a game every year and this is the first one (I think) where they took like 4 years to actually complete says it all right there. I think we will not be seeing yearly games by them but instead more DLC friendly content.

Like the new "standard" will be a game sufficient enough to withstand years of play and remain relevant and enjoyable. PC games have done it for years, console gaming companies are finally going to jump on board with it.
