Rapid Weight Loss

It was one thing in story mode losing weight but yesterday I got a notification saying I was at my minimum weight. I ate 10 cans of corn. 6 cans of apricot. 11 pieces of venison 3 stringy meats 4 plump bird meats and I’m still at minimum weight. It’s upsetting because my cores drain 100 percent faster. Anyone experience this. You obviously cannot sleep so I’ve tried resting at camp for 15 minutes real time and no luck

Hmm, didn't notice anything about my weight the past couple days, which is strange since it has you choose a body type when creating your character.  Doesn't make sense to have you choose a body type and then have your weight change in-game.  Maybe I just haven't been paying close enough attention to pop-up messages (I was always underweight in story mode, only ate just enough to replenish my cores), but it could be a bug, carrying that over from story mode for whatever reason.  I'd imagine if they left that in, they could've left in your hair and beard growing.

Anyone else having this problem? Even if someone can tell me if they’ve successfully gained weight it would be a big help

Unfortunately I don’t have good news for you. My character is having the same exact issue I got a notification that I was at minimum weight so I did the same thing. I ate 35 cans of food 12 mature venison meats 6 stringy meats and even Andre of my horses apples and nothing. Still at minimum with my cores draining at 100%

Well what’s good news is it’s happening to everyone and a lot of people haven’t logged enough hours to notice it I’m assuming. Atleast I know now my character isn’t completely glitched

Im at average weight. Your character changes its weight over time which means you have to eat properly every like 8 ingame hours. RDR2 is pretty real in this so you can´t just eat 20 cans of beans at once and expect to gain weight.

I dread to think how much you have to eat to maintain a healthy weight.  I eat and drink multiple times a day - still underweight.  Not starving, given ghe economy, is expensive and/or time consuming!

Just kill animals for meat --> cook it. Its really cheap ;)

I’ve tried that too. The game requires you to sleep after eating for weight to change. And it even says don’t eat snacks in high quantity rapidly to avoid gaining weight. No matter what you do if you play long enough you will be at the minimum. I have eaten in rapid succession as well as spread out it doesn’t make a difference. Comment later if you do in fact go to underweight and are able to gain that weight back

You have to eat twice a day and decent sized portions. After a few days, your weight will balance out. Eating a crap ton of food in one sitting won't suddenly make you gain weight. Just eat 2 meals with some extra for like 5 to 7 in-game days and you shouldn't be underweight anymore.

Ok I will try. Nothing to lose at this point. So basically every 24 minutes try to have eaten 3 meals or snacks?

I basically eat like I normally would. Two decent size "meals" and a few snacks here and there. My weight hasn't had any issues with dropping. It is kind of silly and I hope they lower the demand of food online after they get off the beta testing.

I have tried everything to this point. Still underweight.

My guy became overweight really fast and I've been trying to lose weight. I did a lot of hunting and cooking and stocked up on meat so that I could easily refill my cores for free during fights. Well I've done a lot of mission and fighting so I eat a lot of meat, and now my guy has a massive gut I can't seem to get rid of.

That’s crazy to me. Yesterday I played for about six hours and I ate plenty of snacks stopped and ate big meals over and over then more snacks without actually needing too and still underweight. I did notice my damage absorption fluctuated between -6.75 percent to 7 percent and I believe got to around -6 percent so it may be fluctuating weight just a little bit but one way or another it should simply not be this hard to lose or gain weight that’s a fact. Of course this is something that will be addressed which is nice but I’m sick of wasting hunting goods and snacks on this issue as I’m better off selling all these. My biggest problem is my core rates just drain rapidly

Bro, how much ya bench?

Everyone knows that they didn't have powdered protein in the Old West, so to build muscle mass they had to rely on a strict lean protein diet and maxing out reps.  Hydration was important too, bro, but you had to watch out for both Cholera and Dysentery.  Basically, lots of campfires and boiling water.  After the water was boiled you could boil chicken in it too--that's another lean protein that was widely available.

Everything a bro needed to build muscle mass was provided for by the land around him.  Water and lean protein, bro!

He was until yesterday, when I started inhaling food like five-ten times a "day" in-game.  He's now average, and if I take literally three minutes to kill a few critters and cook them (you can save them for a couple of in-game days before they rot/spoil), I have more than enough to keep my weight at average.

I'll play test tonight for more concrete data and see if I can chunk him up a bit, but so far, with minimal effort, I was able to switch from "underweight" to "average" in a few minutes.

Starting to think it’s like certain body types that can’t. Because I ate like atleast 20 pieces of meat and 20 cans of food and nothing. So it’s definitely not easy for me. I read to drink some whiskey or beer. I have no idea

have you tried exiting the game and reloading? it worked for single player at least... (granted in SP you would just save the game and reload) my character for some reason i cant get back to "perfect" weight no matter how much i make him overstuff hiself
