I got an email informing me that I had been found in violation of Xbox Live EULA, and was banned from playing most of my games for 24 hours.

So I logged onto Xbox Live and searched for enforcement action, and learned how to use this against them.

I now have ammunition myself for some griefers.

Try this on griefers, messed up my day for sure!

My friend knew about this and I didn't want to say anything as the trolls would know about it. Well, cat is out of the bag now. Let the griefers have it! LOL!

People are able to report other players through Rockstar or Xbox Live/PSN but the threat of being reported isn't a deterrent for griefers.

Rockstar are the enablers of griefers, many in-game features, weapons etc that they incorporate into their games are a griefers wet dream so I don't see them penalising griefers without being prompted a fair amount.

A lot of people I talk to say griefing and lack of content are the two biggest issues with RDO, lack of content is something that is sure to change with time but griefing has been an issue since GTA Online and I don't see this complaint going away anytime soon.

I think Rockstar will want to keep a moderate amount of griefing present in their online games moving forward, I bet Rockstar and Take-Two have made a fair bit of money off people who bought Sharks Cards in order to purchase the very same overpowered in game vehicles/weapons they get griefed by.

If RDO takes a similar route to GTA Online griefers will only become more of a problem although the amount of griefers present in RDO may subside when Rockstar introduce more content and activities for players to involve themselves in.

Just a fair warning, even blocking them they can still follow you from session to session from the recent players menu. Someone did this to me last night through 5 session changes. He only stopped going after me after I brought him to a friend who's as persistent as him and he kept killing him until he left finally.

Why is that even a thing? That you can join someone's session even though they aren't a friend?

It really depends on what their end goal is and what exactly they do about it.   Cause in other games like this in theory, if they want to promote griefing for the sake of making extra cash.  In the end it is about our input and whether or not Rockstar listens.  I have doubts because of their past track record, then again they could come up with knew answers that all of us can live with.

That may have happened to me once but I attributed it to the fact that the others in my posse didn't block the offenders like I did before we left the session.

I will say that I've never joined a fresh game where I ran into someone I had previously blocked but that could be a simple matter of chance.  Although I've got over 300 on my list at this point.

It seems odd to me as well how that works with the recent players having the ability to follow you in the game like that. IMO, you're right, that shouldn't be a thing.  If they want to play with you then let them send a message to ask for an invite, a friend request, etc.

I've never played an online game where I thought "darn, I wish xxUnknownRandomxx would have followed me to my new session".  If I think I want to play with someone again, I will send them a friend request or ask if they would like to via messaging.  ....or vice versa.

Griefing, just a different level.  Remember a case where a friend on The Division, couldn't figure out why every time he went to the DZ, that he kept running into a certain other player.  He reported the player and it came up that the other player was a follower of his and every time he got on.  This guy would stop what he was doing to go and grief.  This was a xbox decision that they changed from the 360 to the One.  Where you at least had the choice whether or not to let someone to add you to their list.

I don't know how it's handled on PS4, but Xbox can be crazy.

That sucks.

If you block someone on PS4, neither party will be able to do the following:

  • Send each other messages and friends requests.
  • Add each other to a group.
  • See each other’s online and Now Playing status.
  • Send each other invitations for parties, Share Play sessions, game sessions, broadcasts, Communities, and events.
  • Join the same party.
  • Comment on each other’s activities and Live from PlayStation content.

This also includes following a player that has blocked you as I've tested it before myself.

Everyone in the posse had him blocked, so it wasn't a case of someone not having him blocked. I would like to hope he won't be matched with me or anyone who blocked him again, but they seriously need to change that option and I sent in a suggestion/ticket about that too. That is some next level stalker creepy BS right there. Thing was, we didn't even kill him. He thought we killed him and he ran up to us and killed us and of course we popped him back, then went about our way, or tried to.

would be better to have an open bounty on these A holes that hassle people meaning they get hunted by lots of other players for the bounty of say $100 giving them a taste of their own medicine. Most of these Griefers are bratty little kids under the age of 14, Some thing that happens a lot in 18 rated games and yeah i know its an impossible task for the develpoers to age verify players. Another thing i have noticed is players with high lvls of 155 lvl ( prob using exploits with in the game that have now been patched ) hassling very low lvl players. These players with very high lvls should be looked at closly to see if they have cheated by the exploits with in the game and if so should have their lvls decreased.

It's not that hard to rank up, especially if you run in a posse. Strength in numbers and all. To be fair I see levels 20-40 griefing more often than high ranks. Often I will see high levels acting as mercs for their lower ranked friends. Also people's perception of griefing differ and vary widely.

So far I've only been griefed by one high rank, some coming from 60-90 lately. But it's the lower ranks that get cocky and start sh*t.

Exactly - you're much more likely for a 10-20 level taking a pot shot or sidling up to you whilst you're fishing, standing there waving, and then rugby tackling you and executing you. What's the point of that?

On the flip-side, a friend and me were running a delivery in New Austin. There were 4 bags, and 2 of us. Whilst we were delivering, some guy picked up one of the spare bags and made off with it. Checking the player list, I saw he was a level 150+ ("here we go..." I thought) ... anyway, he dropped the mailbag close to the destination, then went and did the same for the last one. Quite helpful really.

Must admit, I became a little frustrated with a posse of 5 or 6 the other evening, all with levels between 70-150. They were shooting pot-shots at all players as they roamed around the area (I was fishing at the time) and then descended like a wolf pack, shooting and shooting and absolutely bullying (me in this example) until I disconnected. I'm level 87 (mostly gained through fairly grinding missions and hunting - I am NOT a good PVP player)  Now, I'll have a go for a while, but when I've had enough and I'm beat or ready to finish, I'll either try to leave the area, or I'll just stand there for a bit in an attempt to show the white flag. Parley wasn't really an option, as they would take it in turns to attack me until their respective parleys wore off. Additionally, this would also prevent me from taking on new missions, as that effectively ends all parleys - so they'd come hunting me again. Another side note, was one of the crew was firing a varmint rifle... now, come on - they're for shooting bloody rabbits and the like - they're not a grown up PVP gun :)

Anyway - whinge over. I'll still be playing tonight.

See I have seen more griefers higher in age, I would say 20s to 30s.   They are usually in a posse of 4+ and higher levels.  I think it just really depends on what servers you get on.  I know others who have different results.
