Rival/Ally Gangs?

What are your thoughts on there being an option to set gangs as rivals or allies? Like say you and 3 of your friends are in a gang together on one server. You work with another smaller gang to get something done... So then you can become "allies" with said gang. However, is a gang goes after you, you can mark them as a rival gang. Within this, you can have different options like allies and see allies on the map, rivals and put hits out on other rivals, ect. ect.

This idea could work depending on how they run the servers. It would have to be established that you would need to join a gang to actually have these kind of perks and controls as well. This would kind of suck for people who run the game solo though that is not usually the case.

Yeah as someone who tends to play alone more myself, I would have a problem with this. I mean if I can only work with people if I am in a gang or have perks because of it, that wouldn't be fair. Actually... I am going to make a thread for something.

I like it! I feel like the game will be heavily influenced by how gang systems work so why not bring that to online end of things?

I like the way it sounds in theory but I would have to see how it would play out. Assuming this could be something they do end up doing, I would imagine it is mostly centered around trying to get people to join forces to rule over servers.

That can actually be a problem. Imagine one large group talking up half the slots on one server and screwing over other single players or smaller groups.. Don't you think that would end horribly?

Yeah this would end up turning into a troll war. Not a great thing to have on a Rockstar game. They had issues with this on GTA but they did a good job at not allowing trolling to be enabled.

I don't think it would be that big of a problem though. How many people actually play in more than a group of 4? Not very many. Maybe kids who only have to worry about school.

I am all for gang wars online. I think it would be a nice aspect of the online stick. Some people may not like it so maybe just make it a side game off the main server? I wouldn't mind either way.

I was thinking this but I feel like they should have something separate from social club for this one. Yet, knowing them, they will likely just group it in if they decide to do it. Either way I am not bothered with that stuff. Leader boards don't appeal to me. I am all for gang fights though online!
