Is there an option selling/cashing gold bars ?

I saved a great amount of goldbars. Buy myself an Arabian, but what more can you buy/pay with gold bars even when cash is available?

You can use them to buy anything. 

The exchange rate is basically 1 gold bar =$20.

Look in the bottom right corner for the button to press to "buy with  gold" or something like that.

Depending on what you have left, it might be worth just sitting on them for now and waiting to see what else they release. I have a decent amount of them myself.

To answer your question no. There is no option to sell back gold bars for real cash or in game cash. At best hold on to them to buy other junk when it comes out.

Its too bad you can sell it or trade it to other players, even for cash.

There are obvious conflicts with giving people the ability to sell or "gift" GBs as they are able to be purchased with real money.  Also, R* purposely went with a two currency system in RDO for a reason.  My guess is to allow them away to introduce gambling perhaps later down the road, etc.  A currency they don't have to worry about being tied to "real" money.

I really wanted a giftable feature myself because I like to share with people but I can understand why they don't wanna do that. People would abuse it in all directions. It is sad we can't enjoy certain things because of a small percentage of people who would abuse it.

I hope that's the case - it was annoying nothing could ever happen with the casino in GTA.

I'm saving my GBs in case they introduce something good to use them for later (I got burned in GTAO buying everything that was available at the start that was ultimately useless then couldn't afford the good stuff when it eventually dropped).

I'm saving mine. I don't think there is any reason to sell them yet. Once they start pumping out content, you will want in-game cash for it.
