James Hickok_1837 Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 I play on X box as well and never ever encountered that big group of griefers. Actually would like to take part in such a battle lol. Can You send me the list of the players via private - maybe i know some1. I honestly cant imagine a situation where You and Your firend(s) are constantly harrased for weeks now. Seems like You are not telling the whole picture here. Seems like its personal issue between Your parties. There are ways of solving such issues. Some of them were said here. Maybe try to "make a bigger zerg" or just talk to the leaders of that group. Organize better.
YodaMan 3D Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 @dcg911 It really depends on how you wish to deal with them. Option 1. On Xbox if they attack you relentlessly, write down their names, report, then block them. Most likely nothing will ever happen. Then again miracles do happen. Option 2. You and your friends find a different game and move on. Sooner or later they will quit chasing you. Option 3. Probably the best option. Be nice to someone like @HuDawg who claims to live for this stuff. Send him an invite when these clowns show up. Hopefully HuDawg can help you out and show you a few tricks to defend yourself. There are others that like to scrap in here as well. Unfortunately, I haven't played in a spell and currently waiting for the Beta to end in the next 3 to 5 years. 1
CowBoii Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 If they are not doing anything that violates the rules, you are going to have to block them and hop to a new server like mentioned. If you feel they are playing unjustly, then report them to Rockstar. There isn't much else we could suggest here.

Xbox Gamertag: The Grey Hare Maybe I can even give you some ideas for tactics. friend/invite me if you want a hired gun for the cost of an ice cold beer in camp.
Miltonastic Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Going out of their way to negatively impact the enjoyment of another player is griefing. Someone killing me once is playing the game. Someone looking for me after I respawn and don't come back for revenge, is a griefer. Someone killing me while I'm on a mission that's designed for other players to interfere is playing the game. Someone waiting around the butcher to kill players before and after they do their business is griefing. Griefers are di*ks. Usually small ones.

And this is frustrating because yeah you can re spawn and go after them, but what you are really doing is abandoning what you were doing to play the game they want to play, I try to ignore them for the most part, unless Im bored and then ok, Ill bite, Ill play with them for a while til I am bored with that, or one of us quits or parlays, but what bothers me is they can join a mission or pvp if they want shooting interaction, but they would rather do this I think because most are hunting, trying to level up and arent prepared or ready for it, so it gives them an advantage at first. The way they do things now with the hostility system make it pretty easy to avoid these type of players at this point though, now I find the problem is more trusting blue blips, lol you go to a town specifically because you dont see any red blips and then you get there and the blue blips are acting crazy, lol always cheap shots, un expected things, ambushes, never a bad ass in the street looking to dual or a straight up fist fight, those would be fun once in a while. You done barked up the wrong Rottweiler Tree. I will make you painfully aware that you're allergic to my incendiary and exploding shotgun shells. Twice. Then I wait. If you keep coming I will continue to let you "say hello to Jesus." Because a lesson not learned is a lesson repeated. Obtw, Never trust a blue blip, especially near a butcher or an animal. 2

Well I was trusting blue blips and still do for the most part although the last few days are straining my resolve Once I cant trust anyone, it isnt even fun, I hate having to figure out how to sell all the stuff I've hunted, you cant just go to the butcher, now you need a full on "plan" or you will most likely be shot and have to then deal with that nonsense. I cant wait for passive play, just for hunting, it sucks to grind for an hour or two only to have someone shoot your horse and make you lose all that hard work. Also, I am quietly grinding to level 95 for the explosive ammo, I just send a little note to those who wrong me, here and there, and when I am ready, ill use that connection to go find them and have my revenge later on, lol. Some I deal with swiftly, others I just make a note, ok, a level 125 thought it was funny to blow me up with a dyno arrow, ok, cool, Ill be back......hold my beer. The ones who take really cheap shots, like wave at me, then as I ride away shoot me in the back of the head then run into a mission or quit, I have a special plan for them, lol their day is coming.
DNMNetTech Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 You could just change your name and go into exile. Hope this is the only game they track you down in.

Don't make me have to shoot you Even when I ride in Posse we take turns at the butcher providing fire support for anyone in town/nearby. Another method is to ride to a fast travel location. Find a butcher in a town that has no one in it and pay the money for fast travel. Beats losing all your spoils. I volunteered to help and friended you but I never see you online... No big deal but the offer stands, if I see you I will invite you. Edited April 23, 2019 by Major Dammidge
CosmoKramer Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 I've been shot in all kinds of situations but I struggle to think of too many occasions I've lost hunting spoils from my horse due to another player, especially close to the butcher. 90% of the time the people I see hanging around the butcher have the same agenda as me, whether they are pink, blue or white dots. Often I'll be dragging a kill with the lasso and have to leave it unguarded while I sell what's in my satchel first. The only time I avoid making a dash to the butcher is when I see a posse of 3-4+ players 'guarding' the city limits, ready to grief on anyone who attempts to enter. I've lost far more hunting $ due to game disconnects - they are what piss me off way more than other players. In both scenarios though you can only control so much and just have to accept they are an inevitable and uncontrollable part of the game.
