Ragee503 Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Antonia Looks like you got the furthest with this issue. Looks like quite the runaround. Please let us know what they say when they get back to you.
The_Liquor Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 (edited) I apologize for this. This is one of the bugs the team is aware of and investigating as we speak. Again thank you so much for helping Rockstar make Red Dead Redemption 2 even better We all hope it will up and running again very soon This is what Claire E. just sent me. Please let us know what they say when they get back to you. She is still dealing with 1st Tier Support. These guys aren't running people around but simply running off of scripts. Once all of the steps on that script are exhausted, they kick the support ticket up to the next tier. ....so instead of someone from a call center talking to her, the next agent may likely be a R* employee rather than a farmed-out contractor. This is why folks should be persistent. Now, if an issue is "known", these reps should have the information passed down to them so that when the problem comes up they give the typical answer that it's a known issue and that the devs are working on it which is what I got. ....so either the call center didn;t pass his info along to everyone as they should, or that rep I had gave me that reply on accident or....? I would be interested to hear what the escalation team has to say regarding @Antonia's support ticket.

Here's my latest reply from this morning regarding CE-34878-0: Sooo, This dude wants me to contact PlayStation basically on behalf of Rockstar, essentially trying to pass the blame (famous action) and do their job BEFORE they investigate further? I'm going to write back and tell him that's not my job - but on the other hand I actually am curious of PlayStation will see this as ludicrous as me... I think it really depends on who you get as a representative too. I've had numerous issues but my biggest issue is in regards to Accessibility and I recall Vernon V. and Marques A. basically passing the blame onto me and Sony for not being able to use some features due to disability, then basically insulted me for using a modified controller lol. I finally replied just now to this Support ticket. Here's what I sent. I suggest anyone else affected by this crash start counting how many crashes you have at any given time and seek compensation for each crash for lost rewards! That ought to spur them into action quicker as it's a reasonable request! Quote Moosh89's reply: This is getting ridiculous. I only receive the error/crash while playing Red Dead Online. I will not contact PlayStation Support because multiple people have done so after being told to by Rockstar support. PlayStation says it is NOT their issue. Not to mention everytime it happens I am sure to submit the report with video to PlayStation through the PS4 UI. I would like an answer on if Rockstar is actively working on this issue or if they understand what is causing this. I would also like compensation in the form of Gold Bars or RDO cash as I've had over a dozen crashes in the last week alone resulting in the loss of rewards I had earned.
Dtrtwing Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 After nine days of back and forth with rockstar finally today they admitted they are looking into the issue. Maybe in another 9 days to nine months they will actually fix the problem.

LOL nice one Moosh. Maybe I could get them to replace my fish that I have lost during crashes. That is all that I can do during the 10 minutes between them and then sometimes it doesn't remember how many I had in satchel and I lose those too.
Dtrtwing Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 So played some more with my friend from the U.K. Today. This time we decided to have him join me on and American server. We played about and hour without issue. Then I blue screen crashed. Not 30 second later he blue screen crashed. He has not had one blue screen crash at all when he plays alone or with others on a U.K. Server. Seriously think it is something to do with American servers some how. Just cant figure out how or why. @Moosh89 for the first hour I was like oh crap maybe moosh was right about playing in a posse is a factor. LOL but nope now pretty sure its server based issues.
DylBandit Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Seems like R* has this issue listed and it's currently being looked at. Hopefully we can see an update and fix for this issue by the next update date which is on Tuesdays.
Ana Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Hey all. Ive had the same issue pop up when my partner is playing the game and we did a rebuild database. It's been working fine for the last 30mins. Have any of you tried that?
imjared Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I can play only Races and Featured series. Other series is still loading with neverending black screen and spinning icon. Anyone with this problem? 🤨

Anyone with this problem? 🤨 While this thread is specifically about the "CE" error, Antonia is right about using the information here on how to report your issue. ......but I would like to keep this thread about the CE34878-0 blue screen crashing problem. There are a variety of issues folks are experiencing after the last update. 1
Ragee503 Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Ok here was today's ticket. Game still crashing with the CE-34878-0 error code on PS4. Have cleared cache and no change. Still Crashing Game within 30 minutes. I know that many other people are having same issue since the last download. I also know that it is on your end. I just would like verification that your people are currently working on it. Please check out thread on rdr2.org on this topic before you reply.

Guys, I just thought of this and it will help! Go to Settings > System > Error History Count how many CE-34878-0s you've had in RDR2 and from what dates (first date to last). Lets push for some compensation. I'd say 0.5 gold bars or $100 RDO$ PER crash would be reasonable. I'm at 16 crashes since May 19th when I updated. My last one was mere moments ago... The_Liquor Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I’ll look at my crashes tomorrow morning... I to recently sent an upset reply to a higher tier support stating we should be compensated in gold and cash for the time we wasted trying to play the game... 1
Ragee503 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 13 crashes in about 4 hrs of gameplay since the new update. I have been gone since the first part of march and just started playing again last week.

My last one was mere moments ago... ok so I went to this error history to count. 23 blue screen CE-34878-0 crashes since YESTERDAY! The kicker is while scrolling down counting the errors in this Settings/System/Error History, it crashed with CE-34878-0 again same as always. Not even actively playing the game, though I suppose it was open in the background). That's right, it crashed with CE-34878-0 while I was counting the crashes in the PS4 error history. Unbelievable. Frequency of My errors: May 26 2:28 pm 4:05 pm 5:24 pm 6:29 pm 6:59 pm 7:28 pm 7:45 pm 8:12 pm 9:29 pm 10:07 pm 10:16 pm 10:29 pm 10:46 pm May 27 1:42 am 1:59 am 2:39 am 4:40 am 5:45 am 8:55 am 9:39 am 9:10 pm 10:11 pm 10:26 pm Every message in the error history: CE-34878-0 - An error has occurred in the following application (Red Dead Redemption 2). (yeah it seems like a long time playing, but this is the first and only game i've ever played either solo or online so I was trying to relax and have fun on holiday weekend) I played the single player game through twice and never had a single crash, then when I wanted to try Red Dead Online yesterday it required a software update to play online (while I was playing single player, it always said the game was up to date (don't remember version, it was something ending in .09 iirc. l like to do hunting and I spend an hour hunting a grizzly bear and get a perfect pelt and start riding to town, then crash and all my pelts are gone. Once I was just sitting in my camp at the fire resting, doing nothing at all, just sitting there not even touching the controller, and it crashed with this same error. I was in the gun store flipping through the catalogue and crash/error. There's no rhyme or reason to it. It just crashes over and over. Strangely, it never crashes while I'm in a mission or whatever they are called, just when I'm doing nothing at all in free roam. I always do the playstation submit system info, screenshot and video clip. Today I submitted a ticket to Rockstar support. This is a brand new stock PS4 slim and RDR2 is the only game that's ever been loaded on it. All system/game software updated. Went through the troubleshooting steps posted earlier from Rockstar support (change DNS, fully shut down and unplug, etc) and all it did was wipe out all my customized controller settings. Sorry for the long post, but maybe something here is useful. If I can update my support ticket I'll list all these crashes and maybe take pictures of them to attach.
The_Liquor Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Well, I’m downloading an150mb update... I guess I’ll see if it contains a fix...
Kean_1 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Keeps us updated if you don't mind. The news today didn't include any info on bug fixes and the like.
The_Liquor Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) Well, I played for hours without a single disconnect or stranger bug... either I got lucky or they fixed it Edited May 28, 2019 by The_Liquor 1
Moosh89 Posted May 28, 2019 Author Posted May 28, 2019 No CEs yet, but Adlers STILL won't open for me. 1
The_Liquor Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Hmm... I had no issues. The first place I went. Though only one door would open for me.
Kean_1 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Thanks for the status updates. I'll likely try it out for myself tonight again. Most my CEs are within the first few minutes up to an hour and a half. Very random and I actually had one evening where I got no errors after almost two hours so this will be something we'll have to see over time if it's fixed or not.
Kean_1 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Cool beans. I'll let you folks know tonight if it happens to me. Wish me luck. 😄 1

Miltonastic Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 (edited) I played two long sessions today and no blue screen! It may have been because I was on EU servers though, so will see when I log into a NA server later. So far so good though! Edit- Evening session went without a disconnect.
