Head For The Hills - My Review

Honestly, I really like this game mode. Knowing the aggressive game style that I play, this game mode is very fun. I like how you have to rush the safe house and keep stay until your opponents find their way as well. This game mode would be so fun with friends and posses without a doubt. I personally think this game mode would be so much more fun if it had different variants of it. Such as if everyone had horses and they have to get to their goal while the other team runs and tries to take them down before they do or another variant would be everyone has tomahawks only, which that would be pretty interesting.

I'm liking and enjoying the game modes they send out every Tuesday, it sure does make you look forward to something which is a very nice touch. Already, after a short time out of beta, this game is really getting better every week and I'm glad R* pushed out the 1.10 update to fix some of the issues that made drove everyone crazy.

I hope to see more game modes next Tuesday as I put this Head For The Hills on the top of my list as of now. Very well done, and I like the variety of game modes that they released so far, definitely well done in my honest opinion.

I'm liking this mode as well. More like a free roam mix up!

I'm very much liking it as well because it's fun and simple which also gives me something to do which is always a nice touch :P

I think the game mode has potential. I played for a while and only had 4 member teams. It was so spread out I barely saw another player try to stop me from getting to the safe house. Maybe larger teams?

I was honestly thinking the exact same thing, this should have different variants of it so we can pick what kind of game style we want to play regarding this game mode. I would love to see larger teams and horses so we can all charge and run after each other with horse gun fights at high speeds.

I don't like to play the PvP modes in a game like RDR but glad to see they are providing enough variety for folks who do.

PvP is honestly where it's at for me. I've always been a fast paced action type of gamer as well so this really sails my boat.

Meh! Just seems like another pvp game where slippery bastard is going to be over used.

Oh stop it, don't be a party pooper!

The teams I was on were only 4. I literally walked into the safe zone a couple times.

Yeah much larger teams is needed for sure. Big map, small teams, runners then have advantage. Defenders have the disadvantage.

When it comes to PvP I'm the exact opposite. I prefer more methodical paced, tactical shooters.  The more they lean toward realism / milsim, the better for me. More realistic damage modeling and consequences force players to think before they act. ......no running and gunning

However, my PvP fix is coming just as soon as Insurgency Sandstorm hits console later this year. I stopped building PCs and gaming on them back when the PS3 hit the market. I miss those games and would likely be playing titles like Squad, Hell Let Loose, Escape From Tarkov, ARMA, etc. if I were still gaming on PC.

You're entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine. For the most part, I just don't have fun with the PVP showdown series games. They're more of a chore, especially when you get stuck on a crappy team of do nothings, where players care more about padding their kill count stats than helping the team. I do have some favorites like Most Wanted and Spoils of War, but don't get to play them that much when they are stuck in a rotation along with all the games I hate, like Make it Count and Hostile Territory that come up far too often. Two things need to happen in order for me to really start enjoying PVP, we need to be able to select what game we want to play and when choosing teams, the game needs to stop breaking up posses in auto balancing. I want to play with my posse members, not against them.

Private Lobbies.  It solves so many issues it's not even funny.

There could be leagues build around private matches, opening up an entirely new avenue for the fandom, but R* insists on having the service be hosted.

An arena type server that only has town sized maps, with all the towns on a rotation. Drop the teams in opposite corners (2-4 teams) and let them go at it. Could either be wipe out the other team or capture and hold certain points till time runs out. Just a thought.

I actually like this idea, hopefully soon we can create our own game modes and share them into playlist on Red Dead Online so others can download the mode just like Grand Theft Auto Online.
