Suck3rPunch3d
I saw this post on reddit that showed this image: I am not sure how I feel about this... I mean if they do this colorful stuff... ehhhhh.... EHHHH... They can't can they? GTA is a different game. This just looks corny!
NicNak
I like the idea but only if they keep it true to the times. Like not using purple for starters! Maybe stick to like leather, snake skins, and so on. I mean you can really get some creative outfits when you think about it.
Lonestar
I'm not sure how I feel about this either. I mean, there is only so many shades of "cowboy brown" that your jacket could be, but then again how authentic to we want the Western experience to be? Will they introduce machine guns for example too? There wasn't any purple jackets back in the Wild West!

I mean I am all for customization options like they have for GTA V online but realistically, you can't do much. People back then wore the same things for the most part. I guess maybe have the options for lower, middle, and upper-class.
Archbell
I don't know what route Rockstar are gonna take with clothing and customization in Red Dead Online. I'm hoping they go with something similar to GTA Online's Character Customization but they will need to tinker with the format and make it something fresh and different, maybe they could give the player a variety of different holsters to choose from. It's also a Western game after all so it would also be nice to see weathering affects on clothing because although having only set characters to choose from in Red Dead Redemption's Multiplayer wasn't the best it meant all the characters we could play as were extremely detailed with dirt, dust, stains, ripped clothing etc. I don't know if anyone here has seen or played TC's Ghost Recon: Wildlands but the game has a system whereby dirt and dust will accumulate on your clothing, something like this would work so well in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Lonestar
@Archbell I like your weathering and effects idea and in general, I think the weather could and should play a big part in creating the atmosphere in the Wild West. Details like all this will matter when there is only so much attributable to the era (the Wild West) that you can play around with.

I don't think that image at the top is too bad TBH, at least for the online component. It's gonna be pretty damn boring if everyone is running around in brown clothes. We need some way to express our individualism, man.

I agree, if it's limited to the Online part then I don't think I'd have an issue with any kind of whacky/outlandish stuff. If it is included in the story mode though, then I'd be pissed. Would ruin the game IMO.
Elyse
Hmmm...maybe this purple-pinkish color is far off, but some more natural colors would make the game feel more fun!
ZLion
I feel the same as a few others have said. Having colorful online options isn't bad. Maybe night BRIGHT and in your face but more naturally died colors would be fine. Either way, I have no issue with it. If I want to rock a lime green cowboy hat and some boots, I should be able to. lol

Also dyed is the word you want though in this case... they may have use kill the animals to get clothing/gear made.
HIGHHorse
I know a lot of people hate the thought of having bright outfit options online but if it is only for online, then why not? If someone wants to run around with face paint on, or wear some neon green snakeskin boots, why not? It allows us to be creative and have a character more custom to what we like. Okay well I guess for some people this would be fine. I guess my personal taste would be to avoid it if it is an option but if other people like it then more power to them. If we have to go out and kill animals and then take them to someone to get them dyed... That would be pretty amazing!
