CowBoii Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 I am not entirely sure how much I will be playing online yet but I am curious how you guys intend on playing. Are you going to fully immerse yourself as the reformed good guy John Marston or are you going to plat more like a Dutch dude and just cause havoc online? Maybe somewhere in the middle like Arthur? I know we get the option to go down either path in the main story so I would imagine some people will lean in one direction when it comes to playing their online characters.
Fribbo Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 I’ll probably be like Arthur, but we don’t know everything yet, so I’m gonna play the story mode then work my way to online.
#SadCowboy Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 I will play according to who I am playing with I guess. In GTA I would play serious half the time where I was focused on getting money and all that and then other times I would just drive around causing problems for the NPCs and messing with my friends.
Archbell Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 In Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer I would only shoot those who either shot at me, were actively killing people or had a bounty on their head. I started GTA Online with the same playstyle which worked well for the first few months after release but I quickly learnt to trust no one, shoot on sight and steal from anyone who you were not allied with because mercy and compassion will get you no where in GTA Online. Sounds harsh but it's an extremely toxic environment and you have to look out for numero uno. I'm gonna go into Red Dead Online with the same attitude and playstyle that I used in Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer, I may live to regret that decision but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Couldn't have said it better. All I can say is if it turns into a situation where I spend more time defending myself from griefers and campers rather than accomplishing tasks online, I will just play in a private session with friends. I will play online and will keep to myself, except for friends I am playing with. I sure hope they have different lobbies to choose from. I agree you can NOT trust anyone. I have had people I played with for a few hours, and then right before they leave the session, they shoot you and laugh, and then they're gone.

Exactly the reason I'm part of this community; there's no shortage of suitable players looking to group up around these parts. 1

Bro, I killed not one, but TWO xb360's with RROD playing the original Red Dead Redemption. I've never gone back to Micro$oft, unless it's been for a PC or smartphone (RIP Windows Phone). I'm on PS4, and love it. 1

Fair enough, the only ever time I've got the RROD is playing Gears 2 on the xbox 360 lol. But I've always had an Xbox and never had any problems.

It should be a bit different though given that I think more adults will be drawn to this one over a bunch of 12 to 17 year olds who like trolling people. Then again, I got trolled a number of times by 20 something year olds in GTA V so who knows. I am expecting it to be great until December 25th and we see a mass wave of children hit the servers lol
Purple Cactus Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 I really don't know. It isn't something I really even thought about. I don't think it matters so much online. Like you will have some playing the good guys, some playing the bad guys, and some doing a bit of everything in between. I'll figure it out I guess when I am on a server lol
Drottar Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 (edited) Whe you play online, is like the real life; you can find players willing to help you or other that spent most of the time killing you ( as happens in GTAO). I think , depending of your mood you can play either ways; but what I'm guessing is RS will make some missions not available in private mode... lets see. Edited October 1, 2018 by Drottar

I think because of the heavy gang context of the game, there will be things we will have to do with other players which is a damn shame if you don't have friends to play with. I am hoping I can get in a few sections a week with my friends but given the time of the year, it may not be possible which means I may miss out on some things at first.
jACKx Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 I'll likely play a lot by myself but sometimes with friends. If I can find a gang of people all on a similar time schedule, that would be great.
Kingnolove Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 I'm going into online the same as ill try do the story, gain respect and only kill/hurt those who cause threat to myself. Im also xbox player so hit me up if any one is starting a posse
BropolloCreed79 Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 I don't have the time or energy to troll other players. But troll me, and I go full Detective Kimble:
