Mixed Feelings about gameplay video drops before launch.

So since the last gameplay video dropped, I waited a month for the next video to be released and of course as I'm making this thread the second part still hasn't dropped. As much as I want to see more gameplay and more than we've seen before, I have decided that I honestly don't mind that R* are holding their cards close to their chest. The way I see it now is, the less that we know, the better the experience first playing will be like.  I will definitely watch newer gameplay videos if they release before launch but if we don't I wont get annoyed.

What about everyone else?

I am not bothered by it. I think I mentioned not caring if I see any more or not in another thread. I already know I am buying the game. 

Hell, I preordered it... they have my money. They don't owe me anything but the game itself at this point.

I very much agree with you on this, the first month or so of waiting was near insufferable. At this point though, I think we should just wait it out. It is rare nowadays that you get to truly discover a game without having every corner shown to you by the developers. Like with the new assassins creed game, they have gone over everything there is to know, including their main city of Athens. What left is there to explore? I’d rather wait to discover most of the game on my own. That’s what I appreciate about rockstar, every bit of footage so far has revolved around a single town, except for black water of course. They actually care about saving the experience for the consumers. I probably couldn’t help myself when they release the next video, but otherwise, I would be fine waiting.

I can't help it. I need to see it and read all of the coming hands on previews, more artwork, more more more. However. I know that Rockstar will only ever show us just enough and that given all the time they have put into this game, there's bound to be a sh*t load of surprises.

They should have released it already. The game is less than 6 weeks away and its got to the point where the wait is bearable now. Of course I will watch it when it comes out but at this stage i'm not bothered and I could wait another 6 weeks without anything.

I understand that Rockstar wanna hold their cards close to their chest and I would've been fine with not getting another gameplay video from now until release if Rockstar hadn't already shown 40+ minutes of uncut gameplay to a bunch of idiots a few months back as well as showing 20+ minutes of uncut gameplay to a bunch of turds earlier this month who had nothing better to do but complain about the pace at which the game was shown.

I have no interest in the opinion's of self proclaimed "video game journalists" or the gaming websites they work for.

I think Rockstar has built up enough hype, the game has been delayed by a year and we've seen less than 10 minutes of footage yet they've already sold people extra content for a game that we've barely seen.

I have no doubt that Red Dead Redemption II will be a masterpiece and a strong contender for Game Of The Year but I feel Rockstar are treading a fine line between building hype and taking the piss.

Perhaps we might see something this week with the first magazine covering RDR2, we've had an exclusive preview of the PlayStation magazine coming out as well. Guess we will have to wait but there's about 38 days left and 26 of those days are in October so the hype is starting to get real.

I've stopped trying to guess when they will release it only to feel let down. It will release when they are ready to release it and then the hype can go into overdrive again. 

Theres only so many 'everything we know so far' or '10 things from the trailer' videos I can watch.

I kind of just stopped expecting things and it has helped allow me to focus on other things in my life. I am very hyped for the game and really want to play it but I have the date and I have it preordered, so I know I just have to wait it out another month and odd days.

I have been waiting for almost a decade for this game, well since the 1st one released and I completed it.  RDR is the most time I ever spent on a game and I can't tell you how many times I have played and re-played and re-played.....................  Simple fact is I will probably play this one the same.

Same, I was really young when RDR1 released and played through it so many times, can't remember if I got 100% on story and definitely didn't get all the achievements. But, since then, on my newer account because all progress was recorded on my older one, I started playing on my account in 2016 and recently, managed to 100% the story a few times and very recently obtained all achievements.
