The game comes out tomorrow night. Yesterday, I watched maybe 10 minutes of the game total. Of course, I rewatched it over and over again for like an hour. I haven't seen any story missions, or seen any characters other than Arthur for that matter. What I have seen is, again, 10 minutes of Arthur walking around a town in the early game. I saw him go into a gun store, stay at a hotel and take a bath. I also saw some of the people walking and working, and I saw some of the mountain views. Holy lord is this game immersive. It was one of the first leaks. Luckily the Russian kid who posted it didn't put in any spoilers. All I have to say is that the game feels more like a movie than a video game. In 3rd person anyway. The camera angles coupled with Arthurs movements make it feel like a real person moving around in the world. I also noticed how fluidly small cutscenes integrate themselves as transitions. If you go into a bath you see a cutscene of Arthur opening the door and getting in the bathtub -- and it's so fluid. And the MUSIC! It's modern electronic, but made to sound western and it just fits in so... Fluidly. That's really the only word I can find for this world. You know it's a video game, but it feels like a real place. It's like nothing I've ever seen in a game before. I'm honestly really interested to see if this cinematic feeling stays throughout the game. Either way, the leak got me hyped, but I saw a few thumbnails later on yesterday that felt way too spoilery, so I decided I'm gonna wait it out until tomorrow and avoid these leaks like the plague. I hear there are HOURS of gameplay out there now. The last thing I wanna do is watch a cooking video and find myself staring at a video title spoiling the end of the game. Stay cautious guys.3 points

I had a friend who worked at Gamestop, they didn't used to get them several days early. If they was lucky the got them same day as a release. Maybe they have changed since he worked there, but this is getting ridiculous. Especially, if Rockstar themselves are releasing it to customers this early.1 point

Hate to say I don't believe these guys but all four joined with just a few minutes of each other (8:21, 8:24, 8:25 and 8:33 pm). .......just like you pointed out @CMcC. I also haven't heard anyone else around here (or elsewhere) bring up this issue that has a history on the site, etc. that I feel I can trust as a source. Paint me skeptical unless we start hearing from reputable / official sources.1 point

Red Dead Redemption 2 is only a couple of days away. Finally, after delays and years of waiting, the game is set to arrive and with excitement peaking, Rockstar has revealed more of what to expect on the big day. Like so many AAA titles these days, the game will receive a major patch at launch, and streaming/video upload embargos have also been published. The day-one patch has transformed from being a rare oddity into the expected status quo for major games. For all the crunch time that went into the development of Red Dead Redemption 2, there likely were plenty of adjustments that just weren't high enough on the priority list to cut it before the game went gold. While pre-loading has been available to players who pre-ordered the game, the size of this patch (which is unknown at this stage) may prevent some from playing on launch regardless, though launching the game without it is still possible. Rockstar states that the patch is essential "to ensure the best possible game experience" and therefore they suggest downloading it. While this is most likely an accurate statement and the patch only contains feature additions and a multitude of bugfixes, there have been cases where these day-one patches changed more. Most recently, Shadow of the Tomb Raider's day-one patch changed the game's ending cutscene entirely, cutting out a heavy-handed reference to the first game in the franchise. A Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app will also be released alongside the game itself. Rockstar hasn't revealed much about the app, saying they will reveal further details shortly. We know it will be available on both Android and iOS, and will directly connect with your console of choice. Rockstar redesigned their support page leading up to the launch too, which is bound to see a lot of traffic come Friday. Rockstar also posted the embargo times, broken down by region, for the game. They know that the huge hype and anticipation around Red Dead Redemption 2 means many fans will want to begin streaming right away, and it's also clear by now that a few copies of the game are already out in the wild, hence the embargo. The time from when video and streaming gets the green light is adjusted to the game's earliest midnight launch. The times are as follows: Australia / New Zealand: 12:01am Friday October 26, Eastern Time: 7:01am Thursday October 25, Pacific Time: 4:01am Thursday October 25, British Time: 12:01pm Thursday October 25. Red Dead Redemption 2 is out this Friday on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Check out the launch trailer here and dive into our forums to to discuss! I won the Forum Giveaway (thanks again @Lonestar!!!), so I'm waiting for a physical copy... I just hope I get it in time, I don't mind having to wait all day for the download as long as I'll be able to play it the rest of the week. Otherwise I'll have to wait until I get home, which may get pushed back if we need more time... The suspense is killing me!1 point

I need someone to explain to me how this makes life easier or the game any more enjoyable. I already have the controller in my hand, the map and stats, everything is right in front of me on the TV if I want to find it. Why would I ever want to download an app for it? Now when I want to check the map I need to drop the controller, pick up the phone and open the app? No.1 point

Honestly, the PS4 isn't worth the upgrade unfortunately. The cost is more for a very subtle difference, and you would just be throwing away money for a larger cost in my opinion. However, if your one of those people who need the latest hardware at all costs, then go ahead, just wouldn't recommend getting the PS4 Pro if you have the PS4 already, it's not worth upgrading too. It's fine if you want to buy the PS4 pro, and you don't currently own a PS4 in general, then yes, but upgrading from standard to Pro, isn't worth it in my opinion.1 point

Have horse will travel .. thats the name of the company you call for your horse .. it arrives on a wooden wheeled low loader1 point
-
From what i've heard/picked up from the various previews, your horse will stay where you left it and you will have to go and retrieve it. You will only be able to whistle it if its within a certain radius of you. The better the bond you have with your horse, the wider that radius is.1 point

From my experiences it is all about the presentation. It won't make you a better gamer, but it will give better visuals if you are into that. A friend upgraded for The Division and told me that I needed to do the same. I went over to his place and saw it. I still don't see the need for the upgrade, yet!1 point

Seems bad that to play a game on your PS4 or your Xbox. You need a console, controller, headset, some use discord, cell phones, tablets, and PCs. All so you can a video game for 60+ hours.1 point

I turn 22 this Friday, I was 13 when Red Dead Redemption came out and I've been waiting for another Red Dead game ever since so I hope this new installment proves to have been worth the wait. I'll add you next time I load up my Xbox.1 point

I have a 4K tv, but I don't have a PS4 pro. I still have the year one PlayStation 4 that released in November 2013. It doesn't have any problems so there's no point in me buying a pro. So I don't know if there's difference.1 point

So, that would make you 22 yrs old, wonderful age, full of vitality, tight skin, dark hair, all your teeth .... BUT ... you have to work etc, me I am retired, I can game all day everyday if I choose to, and often do .. lol .... here's hoping the long awaited sequel is all we hoped for, see you are xbox, feel free to add me1 point

As I am xbox I cannot truly answer your question ... but ... I went with xbox 1x (scorpio limited edition) on day of release, I used it for several days with my old monitor, wasn't sure myself about 4K either, a friend told me what a difference 4k made to his gaming, decided to bite the bullet and buy one, I went with the monitor, research told me TV's could add up to 20 or 30 milliseconds to the lag, monitor I have is a 1 millisecond delay.. wow, what a difference, main game is Destiny2 atm, 4K blew my mind ... highly recommend the upgrade, its worth the $$$ or £££ ....1 point

Damn, I didn't think there were this many old gamers on the forum and I'm glad to see there's people triple my age also looking forward to Red Dead Redemption II.1 point

Yeah.... Pinball machines were fun. While not really the same, we had a pretty nice pachinko machine at home as a kid. ....spent hours on that. I think it's still somewhere in my Dad's garage. What was nice about the early days of video games in arcades is that pinball machines still existed alongside them. I'm sure they are still around but I haven't really stepped into one in many years.1 point
-
Ditto, arcades in the 60's consisted of pinball machines, that was it, but they held a fascination I never got rid of, my first home had one... I found it at a cafe that was closing, hours and hours of fun, but free cause it was mine ...lol1 point
