  1. This i wrote now in th esupport forum: marconeff: Hello, I wrote tickets too, to support. This is a major issue. It blurs in many ways: to agressive motion blur to agressive depth of field to agressive temporal antialiasing which doesn´t work correctly with the checkerboard rendering. What can they do: Fix the sharpen slider for checkerboard resolution gave us a button to turn off motion blurUse SMAA for Antaliasing instead of TAA. This will give a performance boost too. TAA costs a lot more Performance. You have no jagged edges with taa but to the cost of a blurry image. Look at Shadows of the Tomb Raider on PC. The TAA destroys the Texture Quality and sharpness totally. Gave us in a second Patch better HDR. Take the time to patch this. This will take a while I think. But I think the Sharpen Slider can be integrated by a hotfix. This is why the 1080p Image looks so good. I don´t think it is the checkerboarding only. It is the combination of checkerboarding and TAA, My other Theory is in One frame are two images. One of the higher solution and on e of the 1080p resolution. I can´t understand while the sharpness is is dimming to blurriness all second. Without moving Arthur or the Charakter. Tis is so strange. with to agressive motion blur when you turn around the camera. You can not focus anything of the picture when all this troble of blur is going on. Before I´ve made my own configuration for my TV and switching off the fake HDR, my eyes are going tired since a half hour of gameplay and a headache and problems with my stomach is overwhelming me since an hour of gameplay. I wrote that all in a ticket. I think it is our work on rdr2.org that all this would be adressed now. This is my username of rdr2.org I send in my last ticket a link of the thread on rdr2.org to the support team. I like the game really, but most of my time, I´m going crazy and pull all out of my tv to become an better image of rdr2 Oh sh...t what a bad gramma and that now in the official forum. Oh my god that is my username on social club. How can I fix this. This username is out of the past. GTA IV. I don´t know.

  2. As horses are vital to the game, here are some things I've learned from controls to controlling the horse. Please add to if you have information. 1. you can toggle your horse from a slow walk (recommended in town) to a trot. Then to full a full sprint. Many of us already know to press A (for XB1) in time with your horses gallop to use less stamina. It looks like this: walk-->trot-->run-->full sprint 2. To go from running back down to a trot and to walking, press the RB button (XB1). This is especially handy as you are coming into town or accidentally start running in town. This has been the single most important part of handling my horse in the game. 3. When taming a new horse, ensure you stay with it at all times. Instruct your main horse to follow you and never leave the new horse behind. I have a tendency to find a new mount while hunting, and it comes in handy to have two horses (side note: each horse can carry 1 large animal like a deer/pronghorn, and 2 small animals such as a rabbit/duck). 2 horses are great when you are out hunting, but they are difficult to control. Your new horse will run off if you do not get your bonding level to 1 and you wander off from it (or it is scared off). 4. Wash your horse by running it through water or clean it using the brush. Clean horses are happy horses. 5. Feed your horse often to ensure it stays at a proper weight. If you are on a main story quest, it's a good thing to fortify your horses stamina; good chance you're going to need to make a heck of a break for it. 6. Upgraded tack items can provide small speed boosts. 7. DO NOT RIDE IN HEAVILY FORESTED AREAS QUICKLY. It's a good way to plant yourself and your trusty steed into a tree. 8. Careful going down steep slopes, your horse can and will slide down. 9. BUY A HORSE RESUSCITATION POTION. You're going to have a horse shot out from under you. If you survive, you'll want to rez the ol' sucker. Nothing worse than losing your fully bonded horse. 10. Horses no like big drops. 11. When you think you're going to be in a firefight, or you're unexpectedly jumped by rival gangs, sprint through the contact, find a place to put your four legged friend, and then take cover and return fire if you are going to fight. Personally, I recommend breaking contact and sprinting through ambushes. That said, DO NOT return to your camp. You've likely figured this out if you've been playing over the past week. This way, your horse doesn't turn into your cover and become a bullet cushion. 12. You can have 4 horses in the stable, and I've personally had 3 horses in camp. 13. Your horse will show up at your next stagecoach/train destination. Magic.

  3. Use your binoculars to study animals first, it tells you what rifle to use - repeater, varmint, bow, rifle, etc ...

  4. Look at your compendium in the menu. Once you've studied an animal it says in the compendium what weapons are best for a clean kill on each one 👍

  9. Good example to show motion blur artur. Never used it in Witcher 3 ;), but the sharpen option to throw out blur from textures. One of the best games ever for me.

  10. No idea why they removed Liar's Dice, but I didn't even think about it until you mentioned it. So far as the unfair bounties go, well... things weren't necessarily so fair in the old West. If someone sees you shoot somebody, they might not necessarily know you had a good reason. Plenty of folks were and are still jailed unfairly, no? I know that doesn't necessarily justify the game mechanic, but thinking about it in those terms have really helped my personal enjoyment of the game. I stopped thinking "the game is unfair!", and started thinking "the law is unfair!" -- followed by "I'll make those suckers pay, dammit!"

  11. So there is more leaks regarding Red Dead Online. Everyone knows Properties, Adversary Modes, PvE mode, and Vehicles you can purchase are coming to RDO. However, there is a new leak that Racing, Deathmatches, and dueling will also be in the game. The first half of this leak is from Fireboyd78 - not me, so credit to him. These parameters are from Red Dead Redemption 2's inputs: INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_INFO_PLAYERS INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_SWITCH_RESPAWN INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_INFORM_LAW INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_RESPAWN INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_DUEL INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_PARLEY INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_FEUD INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_LEADER_FEUD INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_RACE_RESPAWN INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_PREDATOR_ABILITY INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_SPECTATE_PLAYER_NEXT INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_SPECTATE_PLAYER_PREV INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_SPECTATE_HIDE_HUD INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_SPECTATE_PLAYER_OPTIONS INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_LEADERBOARD_SCROLL_HUD The most interesting of these are Respawn, Inform Law, Duel, Parley, Feud and Leader Feud. Also there is a thing called "Predator Ability" which we are not sure what this is, but we can only guess it's part of animals in the wild, and hunting them. We clearly know animals are in the game because of the Red Dead Online trophies. "Butchered - Sell 20 items to the Butcher in Red Dead Online" We also know that the intro cut scene to Red Dead Online will include a prison breakout. This leak is from RockstarIntel, and they discovered mission types, including confirmation of races. The list is not final: Mission Deathmatch Race This is all the leaks we have so far, and if you haven't seen the other leaks I discussed, you can view it here: https://www.rdr2.org/forums/topic/1461-leaked-list-of-vehicles-properties/ Source: https://rockstarintel.com/youll-be-able-to-race-duel-and-much-more-in-red-dead-online/

  12. Is this a wind up? on the chance it isn't, you have two options: 1) do the missions without caring about gold. Come back and replay them after doing the whole story (when they will give you the criteria) 2) or, buy the guide which gives the criteria for every mission. easy. I suggest doing both

  14. You can play Red Dead Redemption 2 first because its a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption. After you beat the new game, then you can play the original Red Dead Redemption. Also, yes the game is worth it, its a must buy in my books. The story is amazing on its own.

  15. Ive always wished that someone would make a free roam game like red dead so its able to be played in splitscreen offline with a friend throughout the story. And both characters could do whatever they like apart from each other, like u each could be on different sides of the map do completely different things. But things like campaign missions had to be done together. I just think that would be the coolest thing ever. What do u guys think?
    1 point
  16. I'd love the co-op idea more than split screen but I get the desire for a couch co-op option. The only problem isn't that devs simply don't want to explore "old school" idea s like this but as @BropolloCreed79alluded to, it would be heavily taxing on your system especially with a game like this. The 2-4 player co-op in campaign would have been awesome though. I still hope RDO has more of a focus on co-op gameplay than their previous titles. I prefer co-op PvE over adversarial PvP.

  17. @Lucixir Just to clarify, you press forward on the left stick (not d pad) to make the horse begin to walk. Tap the X/A button to begin to speed up. There are actually more speeds than just the 4 mentioned here. Tapping the R1 trigger (on PS4) will help slow down the horse. Simply tap each button until you get the desired effect. ....it's not that difficult and if you play with the controls it become more apparent how it works. Honestly, spend some time in an open field as JD mentioned and play with these buttons yourself. It doesn't take long to understand and that's exactly how I figured out many of the game's mechanics myself. To perform a full gallop, you need to keep tapping the run button as you probably already know. .....and yes, at some point there is a pop-up tip window with a message that tell you that if you tap in time with the horse's gallop, it will not lose stamina. I tend to use the sound of the hooves to get the timing right while others I've heard keep in time with the red flashes of the stamina icon. I have heard sources like Gamespot say that doing this will "conserve" stamina. All I can say is that I have seen the message in-game as have others in Reddit, etc. I also have been able to stop stamina drain by doing it although it's not easy to maintain. Keep in mind that keeping the horse clean and well fed (but not overfed) will all affect its speed and state. Calling your horse still brings it near you. It's not as if you have to walk that far. I usually move or run toward it. If you want it always close by, whistle for it just as you dismount. It will follow you around like a lost puppy right on your heels. This is what I do when I might need it for a quick getaway or while picking up carcasses, traveling a distance on foot, etc. As for wandering off the trail when talking to others, I've said it before but simply slow down if you're going to talk to someone passing by you. It only took me a few times in the beginning to wander off the trail trying to carry on a dialogue (and a couple trees) to make me adapt. I rarely have any issue with it now. Don't hold the dialogue button down longer than you need to to respond. If you wish to respond again, re engage and select your response again. When riding alongside, try trailing them and carrying on a dialogue. It's much easier to maintain control. These are all things I figured out on my own by simply working with the controls / mechanics vs. trying to force them to conform to the way I think they should work. Gunfights on horseback...... I rarely use the Dead Eye mechanic and to be quite honest, I've really become used to engagements while on the run. Personally, I find it takes some skill but I'm pretty good at it now. It also helps slow down posses/pursuers that are on your tail. Use the terrain, obstacles and other things in the game world to your advantage. This will also help slow them down and give you time to escape. I can't say this enough but spend some time in the settings. Try adjusting the sliders to change the sensitivity, acceleration, dead zone and auto aim. Play with the auto aim "narrow, wide, normal and off" positions. IIRC, I think I'm currently using auto aim at normal and with sensitivity set at the lowest level (not off). Dead zone I believe is all the way down as is the acceleration. Camera sensitivity I think is all the way up. If you're interested, I can check and report back what I have everything set at to give you an idea. Other than that, I don't know what to say to be honest. You say it makes you laugh when folks like me say how we enjoy some of these mechanics and are able to perform these tasks with a level of success. I get that you're struggling with the mechanics in this game and that's fine. .....there are plenty of us that are willing to try and help you have a more enjoyable experience if that's truly what you want but I hope it doesn't get to a point of people using the "git gud" argument or implying others are full of "BS" simply because they are unable to replicate their results. If I had the incentive or desire to create a video of some of these things, I would. .....maybe at some point I will or better yet, perhaps others will as time moves on.

  20. when you press forward on the d-pad, your horse begins to walk, tapping A, he/she will begin a trot, pressing A again, the trot will quicken, pressing A again, the horse will begin a gallop. To make your horse sprint, quickly press A repeatedly. Doing this in time with the horse will slow the stamina drain. I've heard that doing this in time with the horse will stop all stamina drain, but I have not seen that and I've tried this over and over. Full on running with your horse will drain stamina, but timing the A button presses with your horses gallop (also take into account the grunting, this helps as well) will make the stamina drain much, much less. So it should look like this: begin walking-->Press A--->horse beings slow trot--->press A--->horse begins quicker trot---->press A---->horse begins running--->repeatedly pressing A causes your horse to being sprinting. The faster you press A, the faster the horse goes, up to its maximum speed. Timing the A button presses will slow stamina drain. As to your other points: Yes, your horse is pretty lazy when you call it. It does take some time and it never really comes right to your feet. Just like any real horse I've been around, they aren't exactly golden retrievers. Yes, focusing on something while riding causes the camera to do some very whacky things. I've hit my fair share of trees, most recently while running from a grizzly bear that wanted me for dinner. Yes, the AI is faster, aims better, and seems to have perfect horse control while we are left panning around like crazy, shooting all over the place, and in general hamfisting the controller. I can't and won't argue with those points, but I can say that they are issues caused by two things that I personally have done myself, so I am comfortable in suggesting methods to learn: 1. Don't focus on people when going any faster than a trot. If you are going fast, the camera goes crazy. So, if you are going to focus on someone or something, make sure you are trotting. 2. When shooting, it's best to use the auto aim feature. Get your cursor near the enemy and pull the left trigger and it should quickly move to the bad guy. This only lasts for a second or two. You must be quick in firing. As for your horse not following you when you are driving something for a mission, I personally haven't had issues with this. I also haven't been bucked off during firefights. I have have several run ins with wolves as well and my horse has remained well composed during the brief battles but I've also gotten quite good at dispatching wolves; they get the two barrel hello. I do admit, controlling your horse is difficult and takes practice. Spend some time in a field practicing. Finally, I also have not had the issues with cinematic view that I have seen on Facebook/Youtube, or read about here. I set a marker on my map, begin riding and press the menu button long enough to go into cinematic camera and I've not yet run into a wagon/train/tree/or other horse. I have however, done all of these manually. In fact, I killed another rider by slamming into him coming over a crest. Oops.

  22. I think he's talking about motion blur, every version has it. This effect can't be disabled at least for now. I don't think X1X version is completely perfect because it uses the same type of anti aliasing used on PS4 PRO, it just doesn't look so bad because X1X outputs true 4k, X1X has the same issues with motion blur and depth of field that has PS4 PRO.

  31. This game is epic in scope, but horribly flawed. 80% of the game is simply manual riding, the movement is clunky at best, and much of it is simply a waste of time. That being said, most great games address these issues immediately. I've already sparred with the rdr fans who cannot see fault no matter what. The game has such potential...why not patch up the leaks and make it an actually great game?

  32. They might by request from enough people, they will change something for the majority, not the minority. Also, I noticed targeting cycle isn't in the game, but I changed my targeting from "normal" to "wide" and I've noticed the auto-aim selects the enemy from a wider range. This helps because you don't have to aim near the enemy to activate the auto-aim, it can detect the enemy at wider ranges, so its a lot easier to take out lots of enemies.

  34. I feel like either I am missing something completely or Rockstar really dropped the ball when it comes to the carriages. I see all of these carriages, carts, etc being hauled and I think to myself man, wouldn't it completely make sense to be able to have our own cart so that we could haul animal corpses, extra pelts, maybe a storage box to put our extras so that we don't have to leave behind important tonics, food, etc because we have too many on us at that moment. I just feel like this was a HUGE miss from the developers. I mean it makes total sense for this to be an option to at least haul around multiple animal carcasses that we have killed. Hell, at least 4. I find myself wanting to go on this huge hunting run but I am limited to what my main horse and a spare horse can carry. Sure, they can carry a bit but they can only carry one medium/large animal per horse. Not really griping here, I just feel like this is an awesome feature that Rockstar should have had and its like it completely went over their heads that having a use for these carts would be super important and cool to have in the game. The carriages/carts are absolutely pointless as the game stand right now. They serve no purpose except to block the damn paths. I really hope they at least implement some use for them in Online besides just racing.

  35. Absolutely... When you are finished playing on your first PS4, go into saved data management in the settings, and save your game data to a USB stick . Then, put the USB stick into the second PS4, and go back into the settings, and saved data management. Copy it to that console. As long as the game is installed on your second console, it should pick up where you left off when you load the game. Hope this helps. When you want to go back to the 1st PS4 later, save the game data from the second PS4, and load it onto that PS4. The game should pick up from there.

  36. Hello. I also made a video with motion blur happening with camera movement. So I contacted support with the video and was given a somewhat generic reply but they actually acknowledged it to some degree and mentioned as of now there is no option to change the depth of field and they would be forwarding it to the concerned team.

  37. Hi everyone, I experience a similar issue, although it may be of a bit different nature. In my case, it's not just blurry graphics, but the whole image gets severely distorted when camera is moved left or right. So. the picture is more or less crisp only if I stand still or move straight ahead. Any slight movement of camera to the side, and I can barely see anything: "double image" effect and a blurry mess. The faster the movement the bigger the distortion. This is partly because it is a 30 FPS game and TV is not very fast, although I use the Game mode, but this game is definitely much worse at this aspect than others. After 10-15 mins of play I get a headache and I cannot enjoy the game when the image is so bad during movement. I've recorded a small video of this. I use a PS4 Pro on a 1080p TV. Tried enabling/disabling supersampling - didn't help. Also tried to connect the console to my fast PC monitor - a bit better there, however the issue is still present. The only thing that helps with this is switching to any other non-game mode on TV and enabling the smooth picture setting (that adds frames), but that causes terrible input lag, so not an option for me either. Hope they'll address this soon. The game is great apart of this poor technical implementation. Update: replaced the video with a better one, recorded directly from PS4.

  39. Haha, yes I am very critical. But also logical in my opinions (i think). Aside from a few things that really does sometimes spoil the experience for me such as the bad rendering on PS4 Pro, the lack of HDR and the heavy, cumbersome user interface and controls (especially when your character is on foot - he moves WAY too slow), this game is still an absolute phenomenon! It is slow paces, yes. The story is a slow-burner, for sure. But there is enough things in the game that is done unbelievably well and those things redeem the game for me. The setting, the lighting, the environments, the way all the activities gel together so well...it is a truly amazing game. But it is also let down by NPC modelling and animations that is sometimes done terribly. And I mean, TERRIBLY! Like crappy indy game of 10 years ago kind of terrible. It's a mixed bag, really. A fantastically addictive mixed bag.

  43. I've not had this issue exactly, but I've "lost" several horses. I've not bought one, personally. Why buy one right now when there are so many in the wild that can be tamed? It is tricky however, you must be careful when bonding with your new horse. First, it's advisable any time you acquire a new horse to keep your saddle on your main horse. When you transfer saddles to a horse, it becomes your "main horse" and the other a "temporary horse". I've noticed that "temporary horses" disappear easily, either through a bug/glitch or some sort of death. The safest bet, when acquiring a new horse or using two horses is to follow these steps: 1. Always saddle your best horse 2. Always ride the new horse, always. Instruct your main horse to follow. He/She will always be marked on the map and will respond to commands/whistles. 3. Take your newly acquired horse to a stable and stable it. 4. Ride your new horse into the stable, this will allow you to swap horses out.

  46. As MS mentioned, you can time your button presses to the stride of the horse when in a full gallop and you won't deplete it's stamina. There is even mentioned of this in the tips you get in-game. There is also an option you can use to "toggle" the run button so that you don't have to keep pressing it. However, you will still need to tap it for full sprint / gallop. Your horse will begin grunting excessively and eventually start making many more noises as you deplete it's stamina or when you are not timing your button taps properly. In that video, look at how depleted the health and stamina cores are for the horse. Of course, the horse is going to start showing signs of fatigue and discontent. This is all feedback to help you understand your horse's current state. It will get restless when there are predators nearby, it will begin grunting and show signs of resisting when pushed too far, etc. Listen to what the horse is telling you and check the stats. Feed it when you begin to see depletions in the core(s). I don't think you're overdramatizing but I do think some other folks around here tend to assume the game is broken instead of accepting that they might be doing something wrong. RDR2 has more depth in it's mechanics than the game it replaces. If you take the time to learn how those components work, you'll have a much more enjoyable time in the game IMO/IME. btw, I appreciate the fact that you accept that you might be doing something wrong as some others would rather just blame the game than consider that it's within their control. They are heavy-handed in the way they approach the RDR2 game world when the game is now more about rewarding finesse and skill. ....the depth of this title is one major reason I really like it. I enjoy the challenge and it makes me feel that my input has more of an impact in-game vs. just a point, click and shoot experience. I get better as I progress through the story. ....my skills improve, my senses and intuition sharpen, I become more aware of clues and danger in the game world, etc. Some may prefer a simpler, cut & dry experience and I can understand that. .....but that's not what RDR2 is about and I'm all the more happy for it. I wish I could find a video showing you how to time your gallop. I will admit that it took a little practice for me to get it and even then I still don't time it right every time especially in situations of stress (e.g. being chased, shot at, etc.). .....but at worst, I've reached the point where my horse's stamina will drain very slowly.
