Hate to be that guy.. And I do sort of blame R* for not adding private lobbies. But.. This is a bang bang flim flam game.. If you want to fish and avoid ding dongs. This is the game for you.2 points

So, i slightly skimmed through this forum since i was looking for info on freeaim lobbies and ended up here and i honestly have to state that this thread really hurts to read. I dont know if 99% of the guys here crying griefer are new to Rockstar games but freemode is what the name states, a FREE mode. Normally that means that everything goes to sh*t at one point or another but you have people crying about being shot at in a WESTERN game as if you're supposed to hold hands and sing kumbaya. I got an honest question for people here, would you rather friendly lobbies like RDR1 had or do you actually expect everyone else to conform to the way you think the game is meant to be played? Theres so many people here staying that you're "not supposed to shoot in freemode because Rockstar made TDM matches for that" but Rockstar made it so you can shoot people in freemode for a reason. The best fights are in freemode, where nothing is fair and anything can happen but you have people complaining about it left and right as if they're playing some kind of MMO with safe spaces. I personally hunt down other players, not because im trying to "grief" them but because i enjoy PVP combat in a freemode setting. I would love for Rockstar to add Friendly, Normal and Hardcore lobbies to RDR2 because its evident that the system they're working with right now to keep the player base in one lobby is just pissing everyone off. So i want to ask once again, would all you guys rather a friendly mode? there is a large group of people who want free aim lobbies and then there are threads like this who have people who dont want interaction with other players at all so i personally feel that this is a perfect example of us NEEDING separated lobbies. GTAIV still has people playing it on Xbox 360 in both ballad and IV on both aim modes so i feel that numbers wouldnt be an issue at all for the servers.2 points

So I just saved a woman from the back of a horse and cart outside of Saint Denis, quickly killing the two men holding her captive (I’m assuming they were Murfree Brood fellers) and I always cut free the horse, ride it to a stable and sell it but this is a horse I haven’t come across before. The breed is definitely a standard breed (blanket appaloosa) however the she’s scruffy as hell, scabby, has hair missing and the skin on her legs is raw and bleeding. I took her through water, groomed her and gave her medicine all the normal stuff to make her regain health but she’s remained scruffy, wounded and sad looking. Just wondering if anyone else has come across these horses? Slightly reminds me of the Dark Horse available in the first RDR when you hit the lowest possible honor rank. I don’t know, this could be extremely common and I’m only just experiencing it but so far I’ve seen or heard nothing of them. Regardless I’m keeping her because she’s different!1 point

It seems like alot of people get pissed and call players griefers that kill them once or twice and correct me if i am wrong but is that really griefing ? Dudes that interfere with missions are not griefers in my book even though i get irritaded,,, dudes that shoot me a couple of times when i am hunting etc. not griefers to me... dudes that are bored and follow me around annoying me, whats the problem ? It just seems like as soon as you get shoot you block and report and call players griefers when it is an open world online game where you are free to play as you like. This is just my point of view, getting a little fed up with the term thats all and there is always the simple solution to just switch server. I play alot, i play alone, i have meet dudes that littery harass me but to be honest they are few and far between. Maybe im lucky but i dont get it. Peace out1 point

Would it be fun or useful for there to be a hired gun feature? Instead of be invited to a random posse maybe could just be hired for Mission X. I'm not a big fan of just teaming up with people I don't know, but wouldn't mind taking on a job on a one and done basis.1 point

The greatest laugh will be when they disable auto-aim when the beta tag is removed and the game "officially" launches.1 point

Philip K. (Rockstar Support)Mar 8, 09:06 EST As an answer to your question, every player has to wait for 72 hours after the activation of the 2 step verification to receive the free gold bars. You will receive your free Gold bars after the completion of the time period automatically. Hope this resolves your question.1 point

They could fix the griefing by actually giving the players something to do. I hate to say it, but I don't really hold it against the griefiers any more. It's not for me, but I understand it and can of enjoy taking some punks out since that's really the only game play that currently exists.1 point

IMO the term griefer is extremely over used. But at the same time I blame R* for not adding proper lobbies. I get both sides of the argument.. For me. I love hostiles players.. They are the spice of life in the wild west, especially in R* free roam sand box games.. A completely controlled free roam experience is not why I play R* games. Last thing I want is a weird forced structured mmo style opt in pvp free roam game. Which some seem to be asking for.. instead of private/free aim lobbies.1 point

One of the many reasons I like the Springfield rifle is it sounds like a cannon going off when fired.😁1 point

Yeah I've noticed that. Or I would come around the corner and there was about 11 wagons just sitting there in a mess, some without drivers. Was funny to see imo. Or I've had a wagon just run me over while sitting still when he could have kept on the road, but chose to swerve and go around me while I'm on the side of the road. Did these drivers not take their Xanax this week?1 point

Yeah It's somewhat common. I had to get out and move one to get them going again to get by them during a mission. R* needs to call Elon Musk to get some AI driving tips1 point

I agree with everything you said 100%.. My only real hope right now is that R* is waiting till after the beta period ends to add all that..1 point

I used to be part of the pve crowd when I first started that mmo I mentioned. It's an acquired taste for me. I kept getting my ass handed to me so I got better because I wanted to dish out some ass whoopins too. And it was hella fun. I've said before in another thread or probably this one. If I wanted only structured pvp then I'd play overwatch or fortnite. The allure of free roam is part of what keeps me around in RDO. I've had so many good pvp moments, even when I got wrecked. Hell I logged in yesterday, some low rank bolted towards me while I was trying to set my camp up and tried to kill me. Griefer? Nah. Even when another one did manage to kill me, I wasn't upset. I came back and popped him a couple times before he thought better of trying again. People don't want to try and just want to be a stick in the mud. They take getting shot very personally and cry about not 'consenting' to pvp. I'm not saying the guy who targets people fishing or the asshat snipers by the butchers are okay though.1 point

I've personally heard the song and dance of oh people will leave cuz they are forced into pvp many times. And yeah sure they will but others will replace them. Long standing free pvp game I used to play still running as well as ever despite the fact you can't pve without going through pvp first. Y'all complain but still play, some will leave but most of you still play. I still see lobbies of 24+ everyday despite everyone crying griefer when they get shot.1 point

There's been a lot of speculation over the years on whether or not Red Dead Revolver is canon to RDR and RDR2. Well, I just encountered a stranger at a camp (you know, one of the rare ones that don't threaten to shoot you if you get too close...) in Hennigan's Stead about a stone's throw west of the legendary bison's map doodle, we conversed and he said he used to be a bounty hunter, how it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and then went on to talk about Red Harlow (mentioning him by name) and his quest for revenge in Revolver. Looks like it's confirmed now.1 point

my reply I think you misunderstood what I meant by disappearing, maybe I should have used a better word. 1) I load up RDR2 online 2) Once loaded, I spawn in a "custom outfit" that includes a warm weather jacket and gloves, which do me no good, since I never travel to Ambarino. 3) I then to proceed to my wardrobe at camp to change outfits. 4) I change outfits to the blackrose bounty hunter and add a green bandana. 5) I then save said outfit, which confirms as "Saved Outfit One" 6) I then return to the outfits menu to confirm the outfit has saved correctly and is stored on my horse... yes and yes. I now have the bounty hunter outfit and saved outfit on stored on my horse. 7) I play and eventually either end my session by exiting the game through the story mode exit game option or I relaunch another free roam session. 😎 regardless, i end up back at point #2 The outfits do not disappear per se, they are no longer stored to my horse, which means I have to go through this process EVERY SINGLE TIME which is extremely annoying. Please advise if you need further explanation1 point

I'm over it, that's fine. ....and I apologize for snapping back at you. At least now you know one of my pet peeves. Seriously though, it's a small staff of what I consider some stand up folks who I don't believe would cross that line based on personal feelings. We all still post as part of the community and even disagree but we're not going to start using mod privileges for personal grudges, preferences, etc. They state a <24 hour response time. IME, there is a front line of "experts" who are essentially first-line "call center" material I would say. There is a way however to get your trouble ticket escalated to a R* next-tier rep which is what I have done on one occasion when I was unhappy with a response I received. I got a much better answer from them. No idea how many reps they have but I'll wager that first line of responders takes care of at least 90% of that.1 point

the only reason it crossed my mind (and of course I cannot find the post now to reference it) is that another member mentioned that he was reposting, as his original post from the weekend had mysteriously disappeared... the reply was from yourself and you seemed miffed as well regardless, I accept your answer and let's move on still awaiting reply from rockstar and will post once received... if ticket#'s are an indicator, rockstar has received 65,000 tickets in the past 2 weeks... wonder how big their support staff is?1 point

Given the pricing structure, an 10 Gold Bar Belt will be made out of Micah's hair woven into a thick braid, but just as greasy as he is.1 point

I'll join the R* Social Club when they give me a reason to. Gold bars for a nice belt or a hat isn't going to cut it for me.1 point

It's a bug that has persisted since the start of the beta for some including myself but seemingly made worse after the update. You should report it like I did. https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.175482978.1704273439.1551943099-1719606522.15252873561 point

You'd think... but In December, the piano players in all the saloons were playing Christmas music. I thought that was a very cool touch!1 point

agree, never happening though unless they add in Free Aim. let me add on to that, also something else to do other than fish, hunt and grind stranger missions.. because lets be honest their PvP modes are trash especially with the auto aim on.1 point

not gonna get into details but yes people need to stop using the word "griefer" so loosely.1 point

That's because people that don't like pvp see pvp as griefing. They want matched only pvp. If they didn't want to be killed in a game or the risk of, then play a pve game. I know the pve bunnies from hell are gonna rain down on me, but no one forcing you to play. And if there are other games that pull off the toggle pvp or whatever to "please everyone" and WANT to do that, then go play them then.1 point

I don't like to use the term griefer. They are player killers. PKers. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pker Grief is just a reaction from being killed by a Pker that some people have. So they call them 'griefers'. Pkers are an assorted bag of player mentalities. Some are assholes, some are di*ks, some are pussies and some are just fooling around.1 point

I've acquired one of these horses too. I got it during the ... After all that it remained with me at camp. I wondered what's wrong with their appearance too. It looks sick or mistreated. However, it seems to be a normal functioning horse. But it does look the style of those creepy Murfree Brood. They don't clean up too well do they?1 point
