I suggest putting in a ticket with R*, I have one open with them right now about the map issue as well as the enemy despawning from hideouts when it's cleared. The more people put in tickets addressing this issue the better.3 points

Well, there really is no caliber information in RDR2. It's simply not something that is factored in although weapons do have their own attributes / stats to add balance and variety. In the game, the type of ammo is decided by class (e.g. Rifle, Shotgun, Repeater, etc.). Any other difference is not considered except for the type of loads they are. If you're talking about the real life equivalents to the weapons you find in the game, that can vary a bit depending on the weapon. Where to find one specific reference for all real life counterparts of the guns from the game may be a bit difficult. However, here is a video that goes over a good chunk of them. I believe Greg (Hickock45) speaks to the type of ammunition as well. He's a great teacher and quite modest. For many gun owners / enthusiasts like me, he is really well liked.2 points

And I can’t wrap my head around why people Think it’s fun to hide on a rooftop and snipe someone leaving a store, or shoot someone in the back while they’re in the middle of fishing or skinning an animal. Especially when there is no reward for doing this and all it accomplishes is pissing someone else off for no good reason. But that’s just me.2 points

The IMFDb page for the game is a good source for this and other firearm related info pertaining to it.1 point

Let me preface my argument with the fact that I do not personally care about what R* does with griefers and/or a passive mode. I am specifically talking about griefers, which I define as individuals that go out of their way to disrupt others during the game (ie. while at the butchers, fishing, hunting, or just minding their own business). In regard to the excuse for said behavior, I have seen the use of flawed logic and/or uninformed information when it comes to the historical time period in which RDR2 takes place. I'm estimating here, but I would presume based on my research that about 90-95% of the population at that time were scrounging to survive and get by, 4-9% had money and lived in highly populated areas, and about 1% committed violent crimes for whatever reason. Of that 1%, the infamous outlaws usually had a moral or ethical reason why they did what they did (money, revenge, etc.). Usually, they did not kill for the sake of killing / because "they could." They also lived very hard lives, always looking over their shoulders because they were in a constant state of being hunted down. Also, I would offer one to take a closer look at the career/life spans of the more notorious "outlaws" - The majority of them did not last very long. Here are some examples: Billy the Kid - supposedly made first kill in 1877, was killed in 1881. Kill total (approximate) 21. Jesse James - 1866-1882 - criminal because of disapproval of North after the Civil War. Kill total (approximate for entire James' Gang) 20. John Wesley Hardin - supposedly made first kill circa 1867. Sent to prison in 1877. Released in 1894, killed in a year. Kill total (approximately) 27. Butch Cassidy - first violent crime in 1889 (bank robbery). Believed killed in South America in 1908. Kill total (at least charged with) 0. Bill Dooin - started with Dalton Gang, 1891. Stated the Wild Bunch and the Doolin gang. Killed 1896. Dalton Gang - Founded 1890, almost all killed by 1892. Again, this is just my two cents after reading all through all this stuff about "outlaws for life" as the reason why they do what they do. Currently, there is no consequence for being an "Outlaw for life," which is the REAL reason the majority of people do it. If there were consequences ie, you were banned for a short time, or you lost ALL your money or were RESET to Rank 1 after committing a violent indiscriminate crime and then captured or killed, that would deter a majority of the indiscriminate killing. The excuse to randomly kill others because one wants to be an "outlaw for life" or equivalent is a weak point at best. Let's call it what it is, which is three options (or any combination of following): 1) Are trying to emulate outlaws, which demonstrates an inflated idea or no idea of the history of the actual outlaws or United States at this time, 2) Personal gratification from the simulated killing of things, 3) just being an asshole and wanting to **** with others because they are targets of opportunity. I honestly don't care which category a griefer falls into, however, own it, if you grief just to mess with people, don't try to rationalize it, go full on Dark Knight Joker or Tyler Durden and own it. ***RANT COMPLETE***1 point

I had a blast with Ark until i found out you had to either use cheats to kill the bosses to ascend or play online with a group. That killed it for me. I had my level maxed out, a whole herd of dino's, all predator dinos like the t-rex, allo, bary, carno, the bird lookin one with huge claws, and a few more, like 20 some combined i think it was, maybe more, and we lasted like 3 minutes if that against the broodmother. Was not a pretty site unless you were cheering for her lol. My son said they've released more dino's and stuff since i played it last, gotta be almost a year ago, so i'll have to go check it out and see. I'll look into this Forest game also. I really dig the survival games.1 point

Usually there are at least two of us in a posse when I play. One watches from a safe distance while the other sells. Not to deter them but shoot them if they get sketchy. Most of the time nobody bothers us.1 point

It's available for purchase up until the first time you buy it, for example; my friend was level 39 and had never bought Stubble but when he did he only had it for a short time until it disappeared and became permanently unavailable for purchase like it is for all players who have ever bought it. Tons of players have submitted tickets about this issue since the first week of Red Dead Online but Rockstar are more focused on removing glitched clothing and taxing self defence.1 point

Biggest thing people fail to grasp is that what you consider fun may not necessarily be fun for someone else. There are many types of players in free roam and the different play styles make it fun. Some players just want to hunt , fish or whatever. Fine. Map is big enough were you can do that if you want. Hell, you are lucky to see another player for hours sometimes. Some players just want to watch the world burn and get enjoyment out of creating chaos. I'm fine with this also. Than you have players like myself who get enjoyment out of hunting the Devil's Rejects in addition to missions showdown, etc. In a weird way, the wolves hunt the sheep and the sheepdogs hunt the wolves. I think it balances out well. The new bounty system does hurt the sheepdogs though. That is the one thing I think is BS. I shouldn't get a bounty for helping out 2 low levels from a couple of bullies. I'm not going to quote history or anything like that . It isn't needed. I think R* is trying to create a world in RDR where anything can happen. They are just trying to find the perfect balance between sheep, wolves and sheepdogs. But I feel you need to have all these players in the same lobby to make the game enjoyable for all.1 point

Dual sawed offs to the face is a great deterrent. Gotta give them credit for trying. I watched a guy camp the butcher in Valentine just taking stuff off people's horses. He was slick about it. I did shoot him before I went to the butcher though. But you be amazed how many people didn't see him taking birds, deers , etc off their horse and selling it.1 point

@Foxtrot @DiamondDave I just did a chat with rockstar support and the person I talked to said they are aware of the issue of the diff between missions completed and number shown in social club and are working on a fix-no ETA but when there is one it will be pushed out to everyone’s system who has RDR21 point

Stubble is a day or two growth of your beard. Just enough to make your face look dirty but not have a beard.1 point

I had a guy try to steal my fish of the back of my horse this weekend while I was fishing. I quit fishing and looked at him. Walked to my horse and he still took it off the horse. I shot him he parlayed and I took my fish to butcher. I then had to pay off my bounty.1 point

Nope. That is why you always grab your carcass off the horse and put on your shoulder. Only way a lurker can't try to steal it.1 point

Although I haven't done a complete 360 degree circumnavigation of the map borders in one session, I have made it into Mexico from the northerly escape point going via both the westerly route and the easterly route where you cross the river upstream of Annesburg. Of the two the easterly route while long is by far my favourite as the westerly route into Mexico gets very confusing as you end up in a sea of low resolution un-textured hills at one point where you can totally lose your bearings. Sadly Rockstar have patched this escape method in one of the recent patches by removing the camping spawn point above the hill where you go into camping mode. So instead of camping outside of the normally accessible area to the north and then simply riding your horse further north then north east to get out of the map, you end up in a campsite far to the south within the normal playable area. So this method of escape is no longer possible. Edepot has found another way out of the map unfortunately you can't take your horse with you using this method. Without a horse exploration outside the border area is painfully slow, and the new escape point is a long way from any out of map wild horses which you could acquire. Pity! I really enjoyed the ease of escaping and exploring outside the map boundaries, and it made the world feel even bigger despite literally being able to see the "seams" at the extremities of the explorable area, but to be honest I'm surprised Rockstar didn't fix it sooner when all they had to do was remove an out of bounds camping spawn site... It was never a bug in the code as such, just a spawn point placed in a location which is normally inaccessible on foot.1 point

Whenever You gain or loose weight there is a quick animation on Your health circle showing a weight icon with an arrow pointing up or down depending on loosing or gaining weight. It only lasts for a second or so.1 point

I have 100% this game twice now. Such a beautiful and fantastic work of art. First playthrough I missed a lot of things, hats, missions, gear and outfits, the owl trinket, lots of stuff. But on the second playthrough, I got not only 100%, but I got the achievements where you study every animal in the game and where you skin every animal in the game, not to mention I got all 41 stolen hats, the few missable outfits, the owl trinket, and I completed it every mission from story and strangers that is available. Now it's time to move to online 🙂1 point

I'm watching the video .. I hope I never meet him in PvP 😂 with his bow he is deadly 💪1 point

I hope they do add a passive mode and we can have what we want. I think you already have what you want, but for some reason you seem very upset by the idea of anyone else being happy. I can also help you wrap your head around the idea of the game being played online, it would be with friends in co-op, which single player does not offer, as the missions and story are all different in the online mode.1 point

Hi @Xakahl, First, welcome to the forums. I noticed you created a thread in our Posse Recruitment sub forum which is perfect. That is where these types of threads should go. However, please don't create multiple threads on the same subject. I will go ahead and close this one and let your other thread in the Recruitment forum stand. Thanks for your understanding.1 point

I like the real aspect here but it can be rather frustrating when you are targeting something and get shot by your own bullet from a ricochet lol1 point

Patience. If you know you're up against a flopper, aim, wait for them to flop and then fire away.1 point

You can't. Animals respawn periodically. There was a part of RDR1 where you could make the buffalo extinct if you wanted to (and it earned you a trophy too).1 point

Everything in this game wants to kill you and seemingly for no reason. Even npcs will shoot at you for bumping into them. You want NPCs to be passive too? You want the animals to stand still for you to shoot? You want to never be ambushed by NPCs as well? If I find a game I don't enjoy or is too difficult then I don't play it, not complain that it doesn't suit my needs. Yeah sure Rockstar did that promotion campaign of "fun and fair environment for everyone". But let's be real, human nature is ugly and will manifest no matter what. This isn't everyone gets a gold star for participation (maybe a little), this isn't no child left behind. You already got auto aim to help with lack of skill. Put on your big boy panties and get real.1 point

why does everyone want punishments for anything relating to "PvE" aspects of the game, handle them if they try to steal, attack you etc.. while youre out there hunting and fishing.1 point

SO much fun, except online, I have tried it several time, I dont get it, I only get angry by people doing stupid things, I dont even understand how to protect myself, so I wont be playing it again, but the Sp was awesome.1 point

Good post @lumper it was fun, lots and lots of fun, i was addicted, just shy of 18 days total playtime in story mode on my first play through. but then i hit the burn out, I go all out and play something non stop like this and then it takes a lot of will power after it's over to go back and do it again. Love the game though, still think it's one of the best games ever made, just time for me to take a break and go shoot bad guys in The Division 2 tonight after work I still play now an then on weekends, doubt i'll ever play online, i don't have the patience to play with the spoiled little kids (or adults with the brainpower of little kids) online anymore.1 point
