  1. No The_Liquor... on xbox 1 and it happens ALL the time, pretty much daily and expected now... I make sure to sell down to 5 at the doctor before attempting... and eat from the satchel or feed to the horse when the expected happens was pretty crappy the other day, when I had to get 8 oleander sage for the challenge, and ended up puking all over the swamp 3 times

  3. Yes. Very common and likely just a limitation of the game (not a bug). If animals, etc. are outside of a certain range, the can despawn. The trick is to keep items within the area of the minimap if possible. .....but even in the best circumstances it could still happen at times. Could be due to how much has to be rendered at the time.

  4. Unfortunately, like with some of these things in this game, there is no clear way to tell and no details on how we can (assuming we even could).

  5. It is nice to hear when people have good experiences. I've had a couple in the last few games I've been roaming. Had one Monday morning when I was doing a daily challenge of take so many full carcasses to the butcher. I was tracking a dear when I saw a blue dot coning up fast but then slowed when they heard me shoot. I simply turned and waved and they waved back. Off I went hunting next thing I killed 2 more deer and while picking one up I turned round to find the dot putting the other deer that had died a few feet away on my horse. Once they saw me picking mine up they put it on there own horse. Once I got back to the butcher there they were waiting. Once I took mine off to take to the butcher. They took the other off there horse and stowed it on mine. I left the lobby and forgot to say thank you. But it does go to show there are good players on this game.

  6. 1) lvl 71 I think. 2) Most days for 3 or 4 hours since launch. 3) Took levels as they came initially then got the hots to have a certain horse and ground out A LOT of missions with randoms until I got her. Don't have the stomach just yet to grind another 20 levels worth of the same missions for the explosive ammo which is my next real goal, so I'll happily hunt and fish until then or R* add some other stuff I'm happy to do I guess.

  7. 147 You can still farm lots of XP killing in thieves landing without getting a wanted level or bounty as long as you kill any witnesses loot all of the bodies by the time you've done that they have all respawned.

  9. Just so you know, I wasn’t trying to be a smart ass... though now I re read it it does sort of sound that way. It was a legitimate question to ponder... however I did notice with the eat canned food challenge some time back I had to eat way more beans than it called for.

  11. Facing the horse and having nothing between it and you ifs probably a good idea before you try mounting a horse. It’s worked fine that way for me for a few thousand times. Sometimes you hit or shoot someone by mistake. This is the old West, that happened sometimes. Seriously though, it’s just a matter of getting used to the controls.

  14. I don’t think it’s a bug persay. I believe it has something to do with only rendering objects within certain range of an active player. Imagine how bogged down things would get if a whole lobby left dead animals and carcasses laying around all over the map? I agree it’s a pain at times. Perhaps it could be expanded a little. But it’s something I’m willing to accept as a limitation in a world so open and load screen free. as mentioned, a good rule of thumb is try to keep dead animals inside your mini map circle. I know it’s tempting to run down that last critter, but if your going to loose the other 4 it just isn’t worth it.

  18. Had the challenge pop up for me earlier, fortunately right as I was finishing selling to a butcher. Was really good fun actually, I hope they keep it in the rotation and increase its frequency. Didn’t see exactly how much I won from it but I think I got a decent wedge of cash and you keep all your catch so I walked away with 9 salmon. Only bad thing is, as mentioned above, you all spawn in that spot at the end so easy pickings if anyone is of a mind to rampage.

  19. Why Insurance on your horse? When it's killed you start the game and it's there again. At this moment I struggle with updating my ability cards at 3 x 350,00 each for Tier 2 (don't know impact in the game?) or buying an extra horse?

  20. AFAIK, it's a long standing bug that still needs to be worked out.

  21. At first it did nothing, as I played more, I think I was able to advance my dead eye ability and so now it is starting to react, when you click it and put the cross hair on a target it paints it then you fire, I personally dislike this version of dead eye, as it wont let you just make one mark, and when hunting can be a pain, but I am so used to not using dead eye for hunting that it doesnt matter. I cleared out a hide out and was also attacked twice by several npc's but in all those fights, I forgot to try the dead eye, lol. Anyway I saw it work, and now I think I know how it works, thank for the replies.

  22. Yeah. Just move the dot over something shootable with deadeye one, it’ll mark it with a black x... I believe you can even paint slippery bastards... make sure paint it black is activated in your ability card loadout.

  24. Hey all, I'm new to this site. Just like you all, I don't want to pay for items I can find in houses. Here is my map of all the items I found. This map isn't complete. It's just what I've found. Since the map is extremely large and you can zoom into the individual house locations. I tried to Insert other media and it didn't work. . If I can some how upload the file from the link to this site? that would be great. I'm new, so I might be doing it wrong lol So I upload my map, you can download the map here: http://www.mediafire.com/view/o72ii82nb8or99k/Red_Dead_Online_Map_V5.jpg Here is a example of my full online map: I color code the items mainly for what I was looking for: example gun oll is Blue / Moonshine is light Blue / Special Tonics is Yellow. There's a few more other colors. if you download it, you will be able to zoom in all the way and read the listed items for each house. There's a red circle around the area which the items are in. The items listed around the red circle are the items in that area. Hope this helps, enjoy! You can Zoom in:

  25. The hunting is what makes this game infinite for me. Free aim completely off and off while on the horse without dead-eye really ups the enjoyment of getting a clean scope on a buck on the run for moccasins really made me feel like it was truly earned. Spend just amount of time hunting as much you Nuke. It beats far cry 3's hunting for me. Personally not even a hunter in the real world. Lumper it's funny you mention that. Sort of doing that exact thing right now. In fact just got the legend buck few moments ago. Spent alot of time just hunting around once you get to horseshoe overlook too. Tried out that gold glitch everyone mention on my this playthrough unlocked the fence going back and forth until getting extremely rich. Got done with that went off to find that legendary buck for the trinket early. And as well on finding that perfect flow for the game to have it feel right as the story progresses. Sort of picky with that when it comes to R*'s content. As what mission should be done first and then free roam a bit to make it seem as if a week passed by within the game and all that.

  26. For sure, 100% with you on this. I went back and played it a second time, and tried to find everything I missed the first time, then after that, I was still not satisfied, so I played it a third time, but this time, I played it and found everything as I went, it was awesome! So I would get to a camp, say the first one, Horseshoe over look, immediately go hunting, and sell the stuff to get a few bucks to make a few upgrades at camp and weapons, found a gold bar, to help, then did two missions, the one to unlock the fence and the stables and then off to get the buck antler trinket, once you do that your pelts are more often better, so it is a good way to start. Anyway from there, I would do a mission, then a few side missions, and along the way any stranger missions I encountered, bounties, etc.. Putting the story missions off until I was bored or all caught up, Getting the satchel fully upgraded early on is key so that takes some time and gets you out hunting a lot. By the time I got to chapter 3, I had the full satchel upgraded, my camp maxed out, tons of stuff discovered, 8 or 9 companion requests, most of the carvings, bones, and catchers, a good amount of the legendary fish and animals, etc.. I was so stocked up with stuff, that the rest of the game was really easy and flowed really well, doing things like the Algernon Wasp missions was tough but not when you have that satchel, Anyway, after my third playthrough I feel like I found everything I really enjoyed the play through that time, it was more natural, like what I woudl expect a guy to do, he woudl go hunting, and picking, and then crafting, exploring, searching for treasure, helping out strangers and discovering secrets along the way like serial killers and vampires, etc.. It was awesome! and I am really glad I went back and did it all over again. So, yeah I think most people really felt attached to Arthur and the story in general and it is perfectly natural to feel that way.

  27. I'm not saying there isn't a choice. If folks like turning and fighting rather than running, more power to them. Whatever floats their boat. I'm not suggesting folks should do anything different than what they do. I like PvP games. Not so much in RDO but I still enjoy it to a point. I don't particularly like player assassination missions though. Personally, I won't accept them myself but I also don't have a problem with those who do. If they want to waste their time chasing me though, that's their choice. I've led several on long rides just for them to come up empty handed in the end.

  28. wish they either removed it entirely from online, or at least had a way to track your weight to see how much (ex: bars) you are in order to see how much you need to eat or starve also spawning with half of your health and stamina after death is annoying as hell. especially with no hat on..
