You're certainly not alone on this... I am level 98 and I'm terrible at PVP LOL I've really only been playing it for a few weeks, but I am getting better and you will too. I'm lucky in the sense that although I am not the greatest at this game, I ride with highly skilled people in my Posse, and they are teaching me a lot. Learning the ability cards as mentioned, is also a contributing factor. I think that what ability cards you use depends on your style of play. Some people like one setup, some people like a completely different set up. Best of luck to you, I find also that the better you get the more fun it is LOL3 points

I'd tackle them but more often than not most that use slippery can't free aim and they only use it s defense. Once they get close they shotgun you. Some dude in plunder thought he was slick trying that and I kept my distance and just picked him off with paint it black headshots. He actually went on the mic and was upset screaming HOW??? Made me lol pretty hard.2 points

I'm minding my own business and you shoot me? You done barked up the wrong Rottweiler Tree. I will make you painfully aware that you're allergic to my incendiary and exploding shotgun shells. Twice. Then I wait. If you keep coming I will continue to let you "say hello to Jesus." Because a lesson not learned is a lesson repeated. I just realized that I was past level 50 after finishing an event. Except for two occasions where I grouped, one today as it happens, it's been a solo experience in an online game lol. I know a lot of people have their complaints, and I for sure won't disagree with a lot of them, but I have to say I'm still enjoying this game. I generally still suck at PVP though, but I'm trying to get better. I decided to finally get a little better knowledge of the ability cards and hoping I can find a fit for how I play. Unfortunately they don't have a "hand over your eyes while running madly firing wildly in every direction" card... Does anyone have any general advice on how to improve in the pvp area?1 point

1. I told R★ I would like a collection box at my camp so the Posse could contribute; I'm not paying everybody's freight.S Storyhas it, so it's already 'built.' 2. A spit, as in meat roster over my campfire. We can eat stew at camp in story mode and selected locations in free roam. I suggested to R★ I'dlike to put a carcass on a spit and feed my Posse. 3. A tub. Your horse regains stamina every time you hitch it up. Story mode your stamina got restored by a bath. And sometimes when I show up at camp, my face and clothes look like I have been rolling in pig poop. Gimme a Jacuzzi, dammit. Okay a redwood tub would be fine, imho. Still hoping to find a good active posse. I'm sure that would improve the game for me in a number of ways actually.1 point

I got the aim flick up part figured out. That darn deadeye fire messes me up still. I get stuck on stupid and hit buttons that mean nothing. LOL1 point

Aim flick up deadeye fire for headshots if you've got distance with anyone using SB sweep the target left to right it will lock on if their near tackle them & choke them out.1 point

I am with you 110% I spent so much time leveling up, I only played pvp a few times. I figured if I got up to level 40 first, I would at least have decent weapons, ability cards, etc.. so I could survive a little better than if I played pvp early on. I dont do very well, lol. I have gotten 1 kill and up to 9, sometimes I will be 9 kills 4 deaths, or so, 8, 7 and 6 kills too, but never more, the modes that spread everyone way out are hard for me, I dont see very well and by the time I find someone to shoot, I am getting shot. I see others with 31 kills 3 deaths, they obviously have been playing a while, I dont need to be that smooth, but I want to be dangerous, maybe 12 to 20 kills a session instead of 1 to 9. Now that I am level 61 I want to start getting better, and also understanding how every card works. I see Slippery bastard can be a really great tool if you know how to use it, I do not, I use Paint it black, come back stronger, peak condition, and I think an eye for an eye. I am now looking at adding slippery bastard to the list and giving it a try in some pvp modes like the ones where you rush into a bunch of players either to steal loot or territory, I see others using it and I know even when I have tier 3 paint it black and others I can never lock onto those slippery bastards, plus when I try, someone else see's Im shooting and takes me out, plus I am not good at combat, so if they get close to me its over. For this reason, I really wish we could make a server with bots to practice, like in most fps games, COD WW2 comes to mind, I would load up a new map, add in 8 or 10 bots, and then play it with 2 or 3 bot team mates to learn the map, plus it helps learning to see better in various locations, Tall tree's is tough for example, the terrain, plus all the tree's and vegetation makes it hard on my eyes, I depend more on the mini map that looking with my own eyes. anyway, I sympathize with your post 110% and I am following to see what other advice you generate that might help me too.1 point

Express bullets do more damage than high velocity. HV will increase your range a little bit.1 point

The trading system among players is a great idea. However it will never happen in an RS game. They are greedy it's all about the filthy lucre.1 point

I believe there is one the "Le Mat Revolver." Coming in this "Spring DLC." I am not sure whether I want to see more revolvers or repeating rifles, shotguns etc. I would like to see special or unique weapons. For example a crossbow, bull whip, swords, axes etc.1 point

yeah first of all , upgrade you ability card , dead eye , theres also meat thyme big game receipe giving IV Boost instead of II or I boost from tonics , also just take in note that theres player lvl 200-300 that play only pvp all day , set your setting sensibility higher , your aim/look dead zone to 0 , your aim lock to wide. use easy slippery bastard or slow and steady1 point

And this is frustrating because yeah you can re spawn and go after them, but what you are really doing is abandoning what you were doing to play the game they want to play, I try to ignore them for the most part, unless Im bored and then ok, Ill bite, Ill play with them for a while til I am bored with that, or one of us quits or parlays, but what bothers me is they can join a mission or pvp if they want shooting interaction, but they would rather do this I think because most are hunting, trying to level up and arent prepared or ready for it, so it gives them an advantage at first. The way they do things now with the hostility system make it pretty easy to avoid these type of players at this point though, now I find the problem is more trusting blue blips, lol you go to a town specifically because you dont see any red blips and then you get there and the blue blips are acting crazy, lol always cheap shots, un expected things, ambushes, never a bad ass in the street looking to dual or a straight up fist fight, those would be fun once in a while.1 point

nah he said they are steam spamming his buddy who live streams the game by tracking him down, its way beyond griefing.1 point

A very very good hunting game and it is multiplayer also... The Hunter Call of the Wild. Don't get me started on how many very good fishing games there are.1 point

I too miss that. Now we are sadly in the Age of Nerf and Tears. This game isn't Dark Souls for crying out loud. If you put time in , you get everything in RDR. Problem is people don't manage their in game time properly it seems. I only had 2.5 hrs last night to game and went from 200 to 201 (11,100 xp).1 point

I understand your frustration. However, there is nothing we can do it about it here. What you need to do is contact R* directly. My suggestion is to first use the in-game reporting feature whenever one of these scenarios occur. Second, while I don't know how the XB1 blocking feature works (if it even does), I would suggest using it if possible. On PS4 I can block people so they can see anything about me, they can't send messages, follow me, etc. There is even some mixed information about it even working in RDO to not pair players with those they blocked. I would also look into contacting R* Support (https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.96152732.1023094034.1554996796-1719606522.1525287356). Let them know your situation and if you are reporting them in-game, let them know that is not working. If you are not happy with the response of the first tier rep(s), there is an option to have your case escalated. Contact MS..... Again, I don;t know how this works with your platform but you can also contact MS regarding your issue asking for their assistance in trying to block these players from your sessions, etc. I'm not claiming to have the answers to your problem nor am I suggesting if your follow the above advice that your will get a satisfactory result. .....but I will tell you that naming & shaming here will not get you anywhere. While we welcome you to stay and enjoy the site, contribute, etc., we do have rules. ....and among those rules, spamming and shaming are not allowed. I ask you now, you are more than welcome to discuss your problem @ RDR2.org but please respect our rules and our community here.1 point

i mean these people are legit scum. im gonna be posting it on ever forum and reddit i can find. they earned it. this isnt a 1 day thing. i has been over 7 weeks. my friend is an up and coming streamer with 1.1k follows in 2 months. she is the most consistently watched rdr2 online streamer on mixer. she helps the game more then anyone on this site, no offense. she puts it out there, like herself .. has fun and lets anyone play with her. she is good people that just wants to play rdr2 . one of the few that has stayed on the game that continues to grow more and more irrelevant every day because of... griefers/ streamsnipes. ggs tho dude. no words and if i sound salty, it is because i am. i am beyond salty. not with you @Kean_1 particularly .. just the over situation. ive quit rdr2 because it is stupid. i have a lvl 105 character and 125. but as i stated earlier it is DYING because of people like this. we can usually make griefers quit. but when there is SIXTY+ members, it is kind of impossible.1 point

I assume that further down the line Rockstar will add vehicles, horse breeds, hairstyles etc but other than that I have no idea what major items will be added to Red Dead Online but there are a fair few items I'd like to see added. I have a huge group of griefers that stream snipe a friend of mine who streams at least 3x a week. you may be familiar with them. They go by **... or **********. i have a FULL list on 72 names. they are insane. threatening to break your modem and such "we have a guy who specializes in vpns" like... these folks are the scum of Xbox. ive never reached out for help like this on ANY online game ever. do not feel bad attacking any one of these people. if you dont believe me they are griefers, do your research. they do NOT lay low. that is how i found this. happy hunting. me and my friends play in peace, we never shoot first. but as i said, this club or whatever you want to call it, jumps us at least 3x a week with explosive rounds with at least 5-14 members at a time.0 points
