So, I have had this scenario play out three times now. I just used the Rockstar suggestion form to suggest a fix. Here is what has been happening. A level 5 player, ( for some reason all three were level 5 players,) so brand new, right out of the intro, come to think of it dont you have to steal a horse and all that and you end up I thought at level 7 or 11? I dont remember but it just now dawned on me at level 5 you just entered the game for the first time where you can actually free roam, lol. Ok, so here is what they do. See me skinning an animal usually and then point a carbine repeater at me and start shooting, sigh.. Its not a problem like "oh no I keep getting attacked", lol its hardly an attack, it is barely a threat, BUT it is inconvenient, and it is backwards because here is how this plays out. So ok I warned him once, he is still pointing and or shooting, so ok, I pull out dual sawed off's and dismembered him, now I immediately turn red/offensive so now I can be easily targeted, etc..he presses charges, lol after instigating this and being the aggressor with obvious intent, but ok, and then he comes attacking. It was pretty funny to see this little dude with his un-modified carbine come charging on foot, lol and I told him again in the mic, "Dude, you started it and got what you deserved, if I came up to you and pointed a gun, you would have shot me, AND I told you not too, now if you keep coming all you are going to do is waste my ammo and time, I have things to do." But he kept coming, so I changed to my Slippery B card to reverse the offensive auto targeting thing he had been given and then I arm a bow with dyna arrows and wait, after 3 I left the server because I don't want to waste my dynamite. The point is, when a player comes up and points his gun at you, HE or SHE should then become red and offensive so that if you decide to defend yourself and shoot first to prevent being killed, you are allowed to and not charged or made the offender. I just think as soon as he targeted me, he should have gone red, I didnt give him a chance this time, previously I did and I was shot each time, so I got sick of that and figured, if they come up and point a gun at me, I'm shooting. But I don't think it is right that I get the penalty albeit small and the medium offensive level wears off in about 10 minutes so... But still I think they need to fix that.1 point

Looking for a laid back posse just to hang and play with. I work as a cashier so my schedule is pretty random but I play as often as I can. Add midnightfang03 or PM me.1 point

I think if they do it continuously, targeting unsuspecting players, then yeah it’s griefing, but either way I think it’s cowardice.1 point

Yes... targeting should make you an enemy instantly... the only downside to that I can see is I frequently accidentally target people with absolutely no intentions of shooting them. I’d be an enemy to a lot of people. But in a way, if I point a gun at you, accidentally or not, I kind of have it coming.1 point

He kills plenty of people in defensive mode in that video.. I really don't want to watch it again and time stamp those parts. One time watching was enough for me. Honestly, I just googled. 'Griefing Defensive" mode and that video popped up. Found that annoying idiots video.. And posted it here to prove a point. Thing is, no one really likes Offensive/Defensive mode. People want actual lobbies. Its feels like... Defensive mode is kinda of a slap in the face for players who want Free Aim lobbies. Because it puts players in a sort of half ass free aim state till they shoot back at players. And a slap in the face to players who want nothing to do with pvp. Since players can still attack you anytime they want.1 point

Boondock Saints - that's another one for me to check out thanks. I'm enjoying Ozark (Netflix) at the moment darkened tense.1 point

My outfits are movie based. I've got a Col. Mortimer getup & an Angel Eyes outfit. So, nothing too disastrous looking.1 point

I only watched the 1st 3 kills. The YTer is not in Defensive mode & the player he is killing is not in Defensive mode. They are in Offensive mode. Here's how you can tell. If you look at his minimap, you will see the 1st 3 players he kills. They are Not in Defensive mode, as their dot is not faded. There is one player around Lady Lucy that is in Defensive mode. But the first 3 players he kills are in Offensive mode. I know the YTer is in Offensive mode too, because he cannot lock onto players while in Defensive mode & in the video you see the YTer locking on to non faded blue players before killing them. Which mean they are all in Offensive mode. With that said Defensive mode isn't like passive mode on GTAO, Defensive mode in RDO is so players cannot auto-lock on to you. R* says you will take less damage too, but that doesn't matter if a player uses a shotgun or explosive rounds or if you're a low level that didn't max out your health let. Meaning you should always have your guard up. Anyone know the YTer gamertag? If he's on Xbox, I can just search his name and from this profile I can join game / his server. Spawning right behind him and kill him until he quits the game. I'm sure he won't find explosive rounds funny or dynamite arrows. Especially when he starts crying when someone kills him. Hehehehehehehehe1 point

I'm looking for laid back people to play with as well. I mostly explore the map and hunt/fish and play a little poker. I'll do a PvP event once in a while too. I don't play as much as most, but i'm on after work for an hour or two and more during the weekend. My game name is the same as my user name here.1 point

The Boondock Saints was that movie for me. Didn't see it until just before the second one came out.1 point

I must watch The Big Lebowski as I am a fan of the Coen Brothers. I recommend The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs by the Coens to all RDR2 players - some wonderfully poignant western vignettes with amazing cinematography featuring western panoramas and western themes.1 point

For me, it's all about the co-op. .....playing with friends and experiencing the game together. There are story missions, side missions and all the various activities you can do.1 point

JUNK IN THE TRUNK: umm, one could select first person or 2nd and avoid fixating on the bouncing balls and.or purchase a long tail. I'm empathetic that the swinging orbs hypnotized and detoured you from the solution. YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. I have just made the same mistake twice, my second character purchasing an MFT (but don't tell @N7Creed). There's nothing on YouTube or anywhere more helpful out there than the spreadsheet at rankedboost dot com that ranks every horse for health, stamina, speed and acceleration. You can pick your own trade-offs. I had forgotten the MFT--for my tastes--is more gun shy and skittish near predators. The 'correct' war horse equipped with superior stirrups and saddle may well become my new addition proving very costly for the 24 karat gold braincramp, filed under "WTF was I thinking."1 point

so i took the long way around.. i played just poker from somewhere around 10 in the morning and i got kicked from the table around 7 at night.. so nine hours looks like the max time. the next day i jumped on in the afternoon and i wasn't able to play poker still and around 7 that night i could so i'm gonna take a guess at 24 hours it'll lock you out for1 point

I've made several complaints to R* about this issue. Please help me do so by visiting the link and submit a ticket to the R* support: https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/1150016245071 point

After you finish the game, you'll undoubtably find the next playthrough even more rewarding and immersive. Many of us have restarted the story numerous times in order to fill in and enhance whatever we missed on previous play-throughs. It's really easy to play this game far too quickly. Enjoy your time in the RDR2 world.1 point

Yes. If you get the guy(s) chasing you it should end the game. It seems unfair that they only have to get you once but they get multiple tries.1 point

My point was, I like what Rockstar is trying to do, even if it’s not perfect. Trying to implement measures to reduce the type of behaviour I was describing while still leaving room for the element of risk. What I didn’t do was accuse you or anyone else in particular of any behaviour whatsoever (like you seem to be doing to me). I gave a broad description of a type of play that seems to be recurring problem in the game (especially early on). I don’t see the point at all in the random killing. What’s the motive for shooting a guy in the back of the head while he’s stuck in a fishing animation? It’s not even robbery since you can’t loot anything and you can’t call it a challenge since the guy has no ability to fight back or likely to even be aware your there without his mini map up. What outlaw in all of history (even Hollywood history) set up on a rooftop murdering random people that walked into a store all day? And all without a thing to gain for it? I can see if you were laying an ambush for someone in particular, maybe a rival gang member, or a trap for a dead or alive bounty target. This game has the potential to be so much more than just a western shooter and it even has game modes built in to accommodate the needs of those who feel like an hour or two of pure combat. RDR has the potential to grow into a full fledged western RPG, with reasons to be hunting players Down, or get hunted down by others, ways and methods to raid each other’s camps. Perhaps our persistent posse system can grow into something where rivalries get tracked and the passive/agressive/bounty systems don’t apply when you come across a rival posse member. Maybe the bounty system can grow into something that rewards another player who successfully captures another player with a bounty and successfully gets them to the sheriffs office in one of those cage wagons, all while fighting off the targets posse and rival bounty hunters... I just want a fleshed our world where there are reasons and motives as well as risks and rewards for the PVP elements. If I get murdered, I want there to be a reason for it. I want a meaningful incentive to make me think about hunting someone else down. As much fun as an open world fight can be, I don’t want it to become a 24/7 purposeless death match all over the map. I don’t want this to become GTA Old West. Maybe my vision for what this game could be is just different than yours.1 point

Every time I start an Online Story mission, I get the Scrawny Nag as my horse rather than any of my other three horses. I can't select to choose any of them off the speciality menu for story missions because they're all greyed out. None of my horses need healing at all, and I can't seem to get it to work properly. Anyone got a fix for it? Been like this for a day now.0 points

I have been playing this game regularly and alot on my ps4-pro at 1080p. When I play at fake 4k it laggs and looks horrible. At 1080p it is as smooth as a 30 fps game can be, and that is still of course alot worse than a 60 fps experience. But the other day I went to a friend and he played the game on a regular ps4 and it was horrible. I really could not stand the lagg and stutters, just a horrible experience. This game should not have been released on the base consoles in this state.0 points
