Maybe or maybe not. As for this glitch, i have seen it more then a few times. A group of players will start sh*t, then when unloading on one, they just gray out or ghost. Can't be hurt. Their buddies un-ghost and shoot you in the back. Reported one pair and never heard a word from Rockstar. Don't if I will, but have encountered them a few times.

What ONE thing do you think will help online the most?

The Division as a mini game called Survival. In that you have PvE and a PvP mode. Thing is in both modes, you have shared content. So you can have 23 other players in your game. The trolls learned early on, they can agro NPCs and they will attack other players, hopefully killing them so they take take their loot or keep the NPCs attacking them so they can go in and steal the loot from NPCs. Or dumping Hunters, which is like the final boss to completeing each Survival game, so instead of you having to deal with one you now have 2 or more. Either so you kill their hunter or it kills you and they can steal your loot. From conversations I had with PvP players that did this cause they was upset that players didn't want to PvP with them. So keep the game mode the same as is with just penalties, that is bad too. Trolls don't care about penalties. There won't or can't be a stiff enough that will affect them, they don't care what they lose. They will just take it from someone else. -

Separate servers for PvP and PvE players for free roam. -
If you know someone's GT, you can search for them and then join their games, once you are on the same server you can set there and stalk them to death. I saw it being done on another game.

I think I found an anti grief measure already in game
YodaMan 3D replied to madfretter's topic in Red Dead Online
Griefers breed griefers. If a player wants to PvP, then they need separate servers like in the 1st RDR and let the PvE players have their servers. That way there won't be no excuses for griefing. -
So if when a player spawns in we are suppose to message everyone before they just ride up and shoot us, that is if we can get spawned in and have time to message everyone. hahahahaha. Most players that grief aren't looking to team up if they are attacking you.
-
Well Troll, call it what you will. Truth is I loaded in and before I completely spawned in, I was already dead. Waited for the re-spawn and the same player killed me once again before I completely spawned. And again and again, till I eventually got the whole parley thing. Now how exactly are you suppose to deal with that. Simple fact is you can't always troll the trolls, now that was the last time I got online to play. Not much fun when a troll feels the need to troll. Still waiting on Rockstar's response to this. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind PvP, but I don't and won't understand the need for players seek every advantage to get an easy kill. I personally what my opponent's to know when they are facing a better opponent. Some of the crap i have seen on here and other similar games. Seriously, if you have to go and attack a player who is fishing or hunting or participating in an event that really doesn't require your interaction. Now if it is a mission that announces to the whole world and ask you to intervene, that is different, cause that is a PvP event. Attacking someone who is just spawning in over and over and you are clueless whether if they are going to participate in PvP, is just being a troll.

Rumor I have heard they are working on the Gold thing and I read somewhere they have to be careful not to allow players being able to use real money to play in the game. Some legal mumbo jumbo. After they get that worked out. Then we should be good.

I think I found an anti grief measure already in game
YodaMan 3D replied to madfretter's topic in Red Dead Online
Stealing hunting carcasses could could be a reason to grief, I think most griefers would more likely do it just to be an easy kill. I read online and the person who posted didn't say which butcher, but there is one where a player can climb on top of a building and set there all day long and you won't see him from the butcher shop. Yet he can kill player after player. He said at one point, got the whole town going cause he started sniping players and they figured it had to be one of the ones near by. They just started shooting each other, when that happened the NPCs started shooting everyone. He just sat back and laughed. When I asked what was so fun about that, his response was it made me laugh and no one even came looking for me. -
In a PvEvP free roam, where it places even more separation between PvE built characters and PvP built characters. It would increase the griefing. So far there isn't much difference between builds, but if it gets to the point where a PvE character can no longer harm a PvP character, then the PvP character can grief all day long and there isn't a thing you can do about it. Different playstyles make it hard for all to enjoy the game.

Well in free roam there are players that are actually running around shooting each other. Why shoot the player dealing with a merchant or a butcher?

So last night I got on, tried a few missions and no one would join. Tried to join others a few times, Posses I joined sent me messages that though they had room, didn't know me and didn't want to take the chance. I apologized and left. On Xbox, I sent out a few feelers to the game club for players supposedly want to join up and got no responses. So I decided to just go hunting and or maybe do some fishing. While hunting a came across a buck, started to aim when I saw another player appear on my map, that comes riding through and shoots and drops the deer. Then rides on chasing other deer. So I pick it up and chase after him. Thinking maybe the player would like that which he killed. He killed several animals and never stopped to pick anything up, but did ride back and meet up with me. I sent him a message, letting him know that I got his deer. I remove it from my horse and drop it at his feet. Then I leave to continue to hunt. When he sees me mount up, he does the same. Leaving the deer where it laid. So I go and hunt, takes a few minutes. Noticing he isn't far away. I see an animal and take a shot. Before I know it here comes again, running everything off and shooting everything he can. Once again, leaving everything behind. So I said another message, stating my purpose to hunting collect pelts and sell whatever I can. No response. So I start hunting again. Rinse and repeat. At this point I ain't hunting as much as walking through a graveyard of carcasses he has left behind. Now collecting is easy, but I am feeling I am not enjoying this part. I am getting no experience. So I move onto fishing, a few minutes in he shows up and stands there while I fish. No big deal. Right? Wrong. This person then proceeds to start shooting at them and then starts throwing in dynamite. So I politely message, hey that isn't helping. If you would rather join up, I would be glad to help ya do whatever. Are you interested? No response. For the most part I really didn't have an issue with this player, who ever it was. They never attacked me, but seemed insistent on making it easier for me to accomplish some of my goals. Almost to the point of removing the whole experience. The no responses seemed to be griefing to a point. So I changed servers and join a posse, that consisted of 2 other players. We are in St. Denis, so I stop to get ammo from the post office. While inside I get kicked from the group. Odd? Go outside and my horse is dead? Odd? At this point the other 2 are on the opposite side of town. Really odd? So I know I have to kill 2 minutes for my horse. When these 2 come around and start shooting at me. I hear one them claim that they killed my horse and the other makes a statement that this is the easiest way to get players to PvP where you want, by inviting then kicking them and hunting them down. Tired and not in the mood. I just shutdown for the night. Then got thinking about all the ways players can now grief. You could actually be to helpful to the point that the player can't enjoy themselves or you could actually invite them have them come to you and then grief them. So in what ways have you been griefed that seems out of the ordinary?
-
OR you could actually engage players who are actually participating in PvP.
-
Maybe that is the route I should go in. Thanks,
-
I have and yet wait to see if it comes to any fruitation.
-
@MaryW That only seems to happen if I am having fun and doing well without griefers.
-
The days of players wanting to prove their worth against peers are long gone. Video game players about, cheating, glitching, hacking, abusing, griefing, rather then prove they are better. I used to run into this in GTA Online. Be doing a race and have players intentionally run me off the road. It wasn't that they couldn't beat me in most cases, they had better beefed up vehicles. They didn't just want me to lose, but out instead force me in a situation that I just couldn't finish.

Legal Translation. You are hosed and nothing you can really do about it. @BropolloCreed79 See I can translate to and do it in fewer words that most will understand.
-
I have experienced this, where I logged off and later came back to have half my money gone. Now you have expenses like stable fees and some other things. Now the other day I got into it with some other players and after I got hem to leave me alone, I noticed that my money was lower then when I started and I died more then a few times being out numbered 3 to 1. In the campaign, I know if you die too often you will lose money. Figured it was the same in Online mode.
-
I think it griefing in this game really depends on what server, what time of day, whether it's a full moon, type stuff. I have a friend who claims that he hasn't encoutered random PvP in the game, no griefing at all. I on the other hand have been fishing and been shot in the back and been lassoed a few times, meanwhile the players run off if I fight back.
-
I have had similar issues. Been saving up gold and then when I had enough the option to use it to buy things was gone. It appears that they have removed the option so that you have to reach a certain level and have the right amount of gold. For some things I guess you can still buy with gold regardless of level, but the best stuff you are hosed.
-
Hope to be able to run with you guys this weekend.

Or maybe he didn't level up and upgraded with gold and real cash before the deadline. Now there is no way for me to even the playing field. I have earned guns, not concerned there, but as of right now. Recently got griefed by a player that I couldn't catch his horse, he had the Arabian. So for those who have that advantage now can grief, knowing even though they are only a few levels higher or lower has an extra advantage.
-
No I don't, but then again I don't want some one who beat me to a undecided deadline to be sniping me either. So now that I am I have earned the money to help catch the griefers that have already take advantage of this. Now they have an even bigger advantage, cause I can't even the playing field. I am ok with that, if Rockstar gets off their butts and install an anti-griefing software. That probably won't be till after the New Year. Then again, maybe I will get lucky and get on a griefless server.
