This current model of Zero Choice doesn't seems like it will last that long. The PVP games modes says 'Created' By R*. Which to me probably means R* will add a Content Creator to the game sooner or later. Hopefully sooner than later. Games needs more player control.

GTA O is a complete mess. Its still worth playing single player tho. But GTA O is basically a mix of great ideas being hampered down or ruined by bad ideas. I could make a list that would make peoples eyes bleed. For example.. That looks awesome right? But what that video doesn't show is a cluster **** of Fighter Jet trolls carpet bombing the crap out of everyone. Nowadays.. People can call up flying hover bikes with the best lock on homming rockets in the game. Game has always on blips. Theres no escaping anyone. But GTA O has private lobbies.. So it can still be fun. Just that public lobbies are a sh*t hole.

That is a HUGE problem don't you think? Either way they slice it, 99.9% of the time no one attacks anyone in stranger missions. The real problem is players just wait at the drop off point till the last few seconds to get a full pay out. On top of that of auto aim makes stranger missions incredibly easy. Private lobbies are a must. Not just for free roam, but for pvp game modes too. Theres no competitive communities in RD O because of it. And private free roam could easily be tweaked for private sessions. GTA O is a another huge bumbling mess of a game. But at least you have choices on how to play. Regardless of some missions being blocked in private. RDO has next to no options.

Im not exactly bitter nor do I have a cataclysmic vision of free roam. R* is simply doing the opposite of what they should be doing.. on many different things when it comes to this game. And im just re-acting to it. I don't care about griefers. What I care about is hoops I have to jump through when dealing with hostile players and when I don't. Only way that can be solved is by separate lobbies. I run into hostile players on a daily basis. Sometimes posses of them. Those same players I run into would no doubt drive people who want nothing to do with pvp bonkers and force them to leave the session. That's just how it is. If R* ends up putting a bunch of band aids on the game to prevent open world pvp. That's is basically making it more enjoyable for a specific group of player at the expensive of another group. R* is basically turning Red Dead into a more basic, drip feedy, grindy game than GTA O.

Showdown is like the PVP grave yard mode. Where all pvp game modes go to die..

Wish R* would stop with with these PVP updates and clothing. They need to STOP with the pvp modes, its already too over saturated.. Pick a few pvp modes, make them easy to access.. Give proper hosting lobbies with options. And leave it alone. Clothing.. Well, enough is enough. How about some damn horses?

This is the best attitude to have.. I mean, its really just a game. The ones that annoy me the most are the ones that take a cheap shot at me. Then I end up killing them.. And they just keep coming back. Like relentless rage stalkers. And the more I kill them, the angrier they get. Its a never ending cycle. What would be great is a MERCY parlay that can be forced onto player that you kill 3 times. That would send most RAGE stalkers into a complete melt down. And...Blips are still a problem. While the blips are great at long distance to prevent hostile players from targeting players easily. Close range blips still exist. Blips should only show when shooting and players are in certain range of that playing shooting. Theres no reason why anyone should see blips of random players for no reason.
-
I don't see the problem with this^. I mean the principle of it,, Yea, those guys are being pricks. But pricks are needed in these types of games or the game would be boring. There'd be no bad guys.. And from a game play perspective.. Those game play mechanics you described are just part of the game.

Player killing is a staple of R* open world games. The current problem is R* not adding proper lobbies, not 'griefers'. So you get players who don't like hostile interactions stuck in lobbies with people who do. With no real lobby options so suit taste. The players you call griefers don't consider griefing a problem. Players like me who love fighting other players don't consider griefing a problem, infact its more than welcome. Getting attacked by random players is usually the highlight of the night for me.

I do this all the time... ^. I think of it more of like a partying gift.. Its my way of saying "Thanks for coming out'. I don't keep attacking them unless they keep coming back. . Sometimes, if its a low level or I was bored and had fun, I won't shoot at them if its over. But most of the time I do. I can help it.. Its the principle of it all that gets my trigger finger itchy I personally don't do assassination missions.. And have convinced my friends not too either. So my mindset is. If you "Choose' to do the assassination missions.. You're basically choosing to mindlessly kill a RANDOM player for no reason. And at that point, you're rolling the dice at the response you'll get.

Gawd… Had this level 200+ player do this to me yesterday. Killed me once.. I killed him 3 times back. He goes defensive and starts flinging dynamite arrows at me. He killed me a few times.. So I decided to turn on defensive mode too, to even the the playing field. Right after my 1st kill while im in defensive mode he decides to parlay. SO far, this guy might be the biggest wuss I've ever seen in RDO. He was twice my level FFS...lol

I've been running into high level players. That cheap shot kill me for no reason. Then when I come back at them and kill them a few times. They turn on defensive mode and still attack me.. Giving themselves a bit of damage reduction and forcing free aim on me. Players should not be able to turn on defensive mode during a gun fight that that they started.
-
Ya that makes zero sense. Its also lame that its 'TIME BASED" on payouts. So you almost have to wait till the last few seconds to kill a player to get proper payout OR you get a few dollars. This is why I kind of like getting targeted for assassination. Alls I have to do run away for a few mins it I get full payout.

Slow and Steady basically boils down to taking an extra bullet or two..maybe three. Seems to work much better against npcs. PIB is good for quick shots. Where you aim, and turn on PIB for split second and then instantly shoot. Which avoids waiting for the weapon bloom to settle down. Instead of using it to paint targets. Slippery Bastard is perfect for free aim players... Especially at longer range. When using Slippery Bastard against players who suck at free aim, you will simply destroy them all. Also works wonders against NPCS. But if someone is good at free aim and uses either PIB or Slow and Steady against someone using Slippery Bastard. Then the person using PIB or Slow and Steady has the advantage. With Slippery Bastard on, PIB users can basically just fire rapidly with perfect aim the whole time. With Slow and Steady you can simply take more damage then the Slippery Bastard player.

He kills plenty of people in defensive mode in that video.. I really don't want to watch it again and time stamp those parts. One time watching was enough for me. Honestly, I just googled. 'Griefing Defensive" mode and that video popped up. Found that annoying idiots video.. And posted it here to prove a point. Thing is, no one really likes Offensive/Defensive mode. People want actual lobbies. Its feels like... Defensive mode is kinda of a slap in the face for players who want Free Aim lobbies. Because it puts players in a sort of half ass free aim state till they shoot back at players. And a slap in the face to players who want nothing to do with pvp. Since players can still attack you anytime they want.

Makes you wonder if im One of 'these' players? Im an Old Skool R* fan. I've been through the ringer so many times against hostile players that its a non issue for me. Infact I like those kinds of players, because I enjoy free roam battles and have enjoyed them since 2008 The video doesn't 'frustrate' me, because I would love to run into that guy. And its as simple as that. Also, I didn't search anything about the guy.. I honestly don't care either way. But for the record, I hate feminists too.. They didn't stop killing people mindlessly. The so called griefers are still there. The fact is, that lack of blips makes it harder for bottom of the barrel newbie/casual hostile players to get an easy tag on players. They will still attack you if they run into you. I still run into them all the time. Guess what happens when they cross my path? I'll go into slippery bastard for 20 mins and snipe the sh*t out them, blow up their horses with explosive rounds.. Kill them so bad, that their blips vanish of my map, because the game no longer considers them hostile. And I love every second of it. Damn right blips slows down 'griefers'. Infact always on blips + auto aim is what allows bottom of the barrel players to get easy kills. Its the whole reason I want HARDCORE mode back in RDR. Which if you played RDR1, hardcore had limited blips and NO auto aim. Which meant it takes more effort to kill players other then 'Head toward blips and spam auto aim'. And when RD O started.. Guess what? It was easy to find and target players. When ever R* is done playing silly games. They need to add proper lobbies. Auto aim, Hardcore, Friendly and Private. Then players will actually be able to play the game how they want.
-
You sound like me back in the 1st week of RD O. R* effective killed off competitive pvp with their choices. The only pvp modes I like is Shoot Outs and Team Shoot Outs. So being able to actually play that game mode is next to impossible. Forget playing team shoot outs with friends.. No free aim lobbies either. GTA4, RDR1, GTA O.. Had it right. Hosted lobbies, based on aim modes, host can tweak options, can play public and private. Also PVP modes need to lock it to weapon wheel only. So no tonics and food.

Its not about him, its just a video showing how pointless defensive mode is. And I don't consider killing people in red dead so personal. Its part of red dead. Actually its yes. That video proves defensive mode does nothing. So why are you claiming defensive mode has anything to do with you seeing less players like that? Seeing less players in more of a result of blip changes not defensive mode.
-
Actually players do get exp rewards for killing players.. And buckle rewards. Horses... just cost money. So anyone killing a horse is either just trolling OR the rider of the horse asked for it.
-
Some players love the 'anything' can happen feel of the game, while others don't. R* has pretty much been trying to shove all these players into one lobby type. So you're going to run into many players who will take shots at you. Especially if you're a loner.. Defensive mode is pretty useless. Infact, it could make you a bigger target since players who target you will know that you can't target them with auto aim. So they can get much more cozier around you before popping you.
-
I wasn't using him for a poster boy for hardcore lobbies. Just showing how pointless defensive mode is.
-
Here's a video of a level 30 riding around, blasting Defensive mode players.. While also using defensive mode to sneak up on players, before killing them. Basically a video proving what im saying about how stupid Offensive/Defensive mode is. Feel free to watch. Probably good for some of you guys to see what players, even basic low levels can do to you.. While you're in defensive mode. Defensive mode does nothing really.. Except sticks you in perm free aim till you shoot. For players who like free aim and stalking/killing players. This is more useful to them then it is to a player using defensive mode as intended.

Expenses of Customization of Weaponry in Red Dead Online
HuDawg replied to DylBandit's topic in Red Dead Online
IMO all things should be be able to be purchased for either gold or money. This 'GOLD" only BS is simply R* showing their greed.
