  1. Merged a few posts on the same topic into this one.
  2. Sounds frustrating and annoying... So naturally I'll be downloading it. Thanks for the info. I'll let you know how it goes once I get around to playing it
  3. Ok, so if it's worked for you with multiple pelts/animals and I've gotten it to work all across the map, I have another guess.... I always spawn in the opposite area of where I intend to play, so my side of the map isn't full of other players. Maybe that increases the odds of hideouts spawning for me since other players aren't there spawning hideouts also.
  4. Ok, I've done this mostly in Lemoyne, give it a try there. I've never done it with anything else but a 3* deer/buck so I can't confirm the other animals.
  5. Well if there's anything that RDR2 has taught us, it's that drinking helps with steady aim...Should totally work in real life, right? 😎
  6. Are these suggestions not working for everyone? I know it's tedious and risky, but logging out of the butcher each time always ensures he buys all my pelts.
  7. Really? It's been pretty consistent for me. I have a few questions for you: Did you skin the animal? How many stars was the animal? What type of animal? What areas have you tried this in?
  8. I do this all the time with the quick draw option, though it's usually my poor horse that gets it. I imagine this happens a good bit between players, but 99% of the time it's not an accident, it's a troll lol.
  9. Havent played it.let me know what you think of it. Thanks for the suggestion.
  10. I'd be ok with that because then we'd have an option to kill them while they were looting our dead body and get their stuff. One of the FEW things that Ark survival evolved did right was how they handled player/mount deaths. If you died your body was lootable by anyone, but only you would see a light beacon to help you locate it faster than them. Whether your mount was killed or not, all your stuff stayed on it, but was only lootable by others if the animal was dead. If this was used in RDR2 it would for people to kill your horse to loot it and get the penalty that goes along with it. Ark also allowed you to store things in your home, which is something that I hope RDR2 allows us to do in the future.
  11. It doesn't make any sense to lose your pelts after you die, if the horse is still there, so should the pelts. Going be that logic we should lose the contents of our satchel after each death as well. If they kill you and you kill them back, the deed is done, you're even. The only time I think it was warranted to kill someone multiple times is if you lost a bunch of pelts because they killed you. R* is addressing that, so no need to waste time killing someone over and over. I get what you're saying here, but the problem is rolling in strong and smart doesn't stop a posse from auto aiming you to death. If kills required skill in this game I'd be more inclined to agree with you.
  12. This happens a lot to me. I have't been robbed since I started doing these things to combat this: Sell the Carcass' first Sell the stacks second, always use sell all Log out and log back in to the butcher after each item is sold. Annoying, but a good work around for the time being.
  13. Lol. Yes, for about 10 years. Mostly east coast venues, good times though and a lot of whisky.
  14. Oh man, it's like Christmas in July. except in February..... A lot of good stuff here, shows R* is listening to us. I see a few responses that aren't happy with this update. Keep in mind these are things that can/will be tweaked to get the game to where it needs to be. Also, their descriptions give us an idea of how these things will work, but they are in no way an exact description. Theses adjustments can be carried out in a number of ways. They could, for example make defensive attacks exempt from bad honor adjustments. They could also give good honor points for killing the people with dark blips. At the very least ,if the game spawns a ton of NPCS to hunt players down at least they will be occupied with that instead of other players. Getting killed by bounty hunters could maybe wipe your satchel inventory, who knows? It's all open ended right now. Just got to wait , keep submitting our concerns to R* and hope for the best.
  15. I am a huge fan of the Madhatter from Alice in wonderland and I was a guitarist in a touring metal band. So Mad from the Madhatter and fretter from the frets on a guitar is where Madfretter comes from.
  16. Ok, so I tested this throughout the weekend and I'm pretty certain that having a hi level carcass on your horse makes hideouts and outlaws spawn more frequently. The first time I tested this I went to 10 hideout spots without an animal on my horse and one hideout spawned. I then joined a new session and went to the same hideouts and 4 spawned with an ambush as well. The second time I stayed in the same session, repeated the test and found 0 spawned without the deer and with the deer I got 3 hideouts/2 ambushes. I also looted 2 treasure maps as well. It's also worth noting that both times I spawned in tumbleweed and fast traveled to Rhodes, so my side of the map wasn't filled with other players.
  17. I read somewhere that keeping a 3* animal on your horse makes them spawn, I tried it out recently since none were spawning for me. I got 3 hideouts last night along with 2 ambushes and got 2 maps out of it. I'm going to try again the weekend, to see if it's legit or if last night was a fluke.
  18. Ketchup on pork roast. Don't know if this is weird in other parts of the world, but here on the East Coast US it is, my mother will literally throw stuff at me if I do this at her house.
  19. I'll take cold any day over hot. If it's -10 outside I can put on more clothes to get warm. If it's 105 outside here there is a legal limit to how much people can take off to get cool. 😎
  20. This ticks me off to no end. When I start a mission and see a deserter, I kill myself and blow the mission. Doesn't stop them, but at least it annoys them. If everyone did this, they'd probably stop. R* needs to add a tether to missions.
  21. Most welcome. Here you go:
  22. If you are looking for a certain animal or item in RDR2, drop your request here and I will (to the best of my ability) post the map location in this thread. Just for the members of this great forum! To start: Known locations of bear spawns below:
  23. To the best of my knowledge these are the cougar spawn locations in New Austin.
  24. Nice, thanks for the info. I've been hinting in New Austin a lot lately, so mostly condors. I will have to venture to St Denis and check these out. I'm attaching a map of where they spawn for everyone to use.
